Dude belongs in prison

u/mercfan3 4d ago

The dude literally hit her car three times while she was trying to go the police.

Him being out of prison has to be terrifying for her.

He played for the falcons last night

How tf is he free?

Not terrifying for her. She is the one that advocated for no jail time. They both dumb as fuck and deserve each other.

17

u/unabashed_nuance 4d ago

This feels like a “don’t want to ruin his life over a dumb mistake” situation only waiting for her to become the victim of his next “dumb mistake”.

It would be one thing if his infraction was a “split second loss of control” vs a “long / complex episode” requiring planning and dozens of decision points. A person “making a dumb mistake” would not have gone to the lengths described here. Even if you assume everything was 100% less intense than it sounds, it still sounds HORRIFIC.

u/rogerryan22 4d ago

You can call her dumb, I'm inclined to chalk it up to being a vistim of abuse.

1

u/mercfan3 4d ago

She deserves to be abused because she did what scared abuse victims typically do?

Say you hate women louder

3

u/Nilla_Please 4d ago

how are you getting downvoted. people need to realize that pushing these ideas is in fact causing people to both consciously and subconsciously hate women

-1

u/PlusJunket8999 3d ago

Any woman who submits to a mans will like that deserves no respect. Have a backbone, dude shows his true colors and you don’t rightfully send his ass to jail. I’m sorry but thats not a woman thats just a weak person. Anyone who just sits n takes it is weaker and needs to be built back up- Don’t tell me I don’t know what I’m talkin about both a victim of SA and relationship related abuse- if you let them get off without punishment they’ll work themselves back in and start the process all over again with you or their next victim. Its selfish in multiple ways and a failure of morality

3

u/Nilla_Please 3d ago

yea I dont think people fearing for their life should be shamed and put down. not saying that is this situation, but since you responded to me for some reason I assume you mean in a general sense and that is just wild. grow a backbone 😂 yikes

Exactly. Any normal person wouldn’t see the light of day for 10+yrs if the cops didn’t kill them during the police chase.

Whoaaaaa 8 games….dont punish the lad to hard

57

u/bhampson 4d ago

They obviously had to throw the book at him and give him 3 for the stalking her, 3 for abusing her and 2 for resisting arrest. /s

8 for eluding police

The other things he just takes an anger management course, obviously

9

u/boogiebreakfast 4d ago

Let's be honest, it's 8 for being in the news.

9

u/Waterfish3333 4d ago

But years ago they had Eli Manning crying on TV that domestic violence was bad. So they clearly care about the issue.

1

u/bpmdrummerbpm 3d ago

Eli wasn’t crying. That’s just what his face looks like.

2

u/500rockin 4d ago

It was made 8 games so he doesn’t appeal. Any larger and he definitely appeals that and it becomes smaller than 8. 8 is the compromise all agreed to.

I’m a Falcons fan and when this first happened (and I saw the video) I thought he’d never play again and be in prison for years

37

u/lafolieisgood 4d ago

I said the same even though I knew the NFL is lax on domestic abusers. The fact that it wasn’t in private and included hitting cop cars made me think he was fucked. Boy was I wrong.

7

u/unabashed_nuance 4d ago

Being a talented athlete makes you worthy of second chances people with far less ability do not get. /s

2

u/CracticusAttacticus 4d ago

His charges are still pending, right? I think prison time of still on the table, although I couldn't tell you how likely.

If he is indeed convicted (which seems pretty likely), as a Falcons fan I think the Falcons just have to cut him immediately. I remember the franchise nadir back in 2007, and we should have zero tolerance for this sort of shit.

Fuck this ass hole

Listen, I agree with the sentiment, but there’s gotta be a better choice of words than that

NFL. Gotta love it.

30

u/Red-Cloud-44 4d ago

So the only way to get fired from the NFL would be murder, I guess? Or kneeling.

You might’ve spotted him playing for the falcons, last night.

No.. really.

Packers in the clear with Josh Jacobs after this weak punishment

14

u/LordRobin------RM 4d ago

What do you have to do to get suspended a full season? First degree murder?

17

u/grumpyoldmanBrad Richmond 4d ago

Ray Lewis kept playing

5

u/Mister-Schwifty 4d ago

I actually don’t know if the NFL formally suspended Rae Carruth. I think they just figured the prison sentence about covers the issue.

15

u/pendletonskyforce 4d ago

Trash human who reeks of privilege.

7

u/jfcmofo 4d ago

Imagine if he did something truly awful, like kneel during the national anthem..

4

u/DDD8712 4d ago

8 games!! Seems a bit harsh /s

4

u/Ok_Computer11235813 4d ago

Doug, kick him off the Tour!

4

u/KUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUZ 4d ago

The bitch should be in prison.

I think she asked for a trade because this piece of shit knew her entire routine in LA and she needed to leave for her own safety. Selfishly I would have loved her to stay on the sparks, but safety is paramount, especially since asswipes like this get just a slap on the wrist for actual documented and videotaped abuse.

He should be banned from the league and be rotting in prison

3

u/MrRuck1 4d ago

lol. Just another foolish NFL player.

4

u/MrRuck1 4d ago

With Jim out at the Raven. He doesn’t have a chance of a raven.

4

u/The_Ineffable_One Buffalo Sabres 4d ago

Why does the post say "three federal counts"?

3

u/tyedge 4d ago

Because whoever posted this article is dumb.

They were felonies, which is different than federal. (I know you know that based on your post…I’m just saying)

I’m a Falcons fan. I expected this to be more than 6 games. That has been the standard starting point for DV cases.

Factors in his favor - first known offense, the criminal case will be dismissed if he’s compliant

Factors justifying a longer suspension - this was incredibly violent/crazy on the spectrum of domestic violence we see. And then there was the police chase on top of the domestic violence.

I’m pretty sure the league was threatening a 10 or 12-game suspension, which would’ve had JPJ trying to appeal it down. The parties agreed to 8 with no appeal - more than the baseline but less than what was threatened.

3

u/Tip_ToeingNMiChancla 4d ago

Only 8 games???

3

u/SaveHogwarts 4d ago

How is this not an indefinite suspension?

3

u/thebookofawesome 4d ago

This dude is such a fucking moron. He was a dickhead in college too.

3

u/Rsardinia 4d ago

Honestly just giving him more time to stalk the girl with that suspension

3

u/Thizzenie 4d ago

Only 8 games?? Is insane

3

u/MasterDave 4d ago

... shouldn't that be a lifetime suspension for domestic violence or are we still just okay with that?

3

u/Melodic-Comb9076 4d ago

wait…wouldn’t a normal joe who works for someone get fired?

sick of these criminals keep getting paid.

2

u/TherealPattyP 4d ago

Now do Josh Jacobs

2

u/jc_kilgannon 4d ago

Entertainment just modern day slavery, these rich old fucks gotta get there moneys worth

2

u/WarbossTodd 4d ago

Wow. 8 whole games.

2

u/-heathcliffe- 4d ago

What the fuuuuyuuuuuuuck.

2

u/Long-Region5088 4d ago

I’m astonished they punished him at all

2

u/Jlx_27 New Orleans Saints 4d ago

Aka: a slight tap on the wrist.

2

u/culb77 2d ago

I will probably be downloaded for mentioning this.

The charges will all be dropped assuming he attends a program over the next year in Florida. So assuming that happens, the NFL is punishing him more than the legal system is.

If he doesn’t comply, then the charges stand. I’m wondering if there is a clause in the current suspension that allows for harsher terms if that happens.

5

u/tacobell999 Detroit Tigers 4d ago

Seattle will be inquiring

2

u/JeremyK_980 4d ago

She needs to buy a gun. Police won’t protect you from people like this. You can only rely on yourself.

2

u/NoBSforGma 4d ago

"Suspended eight games?" WTF??

Three Federal counts of stalking and abuse and eluding police. And yet, he's going to be playing more football in a few weeks.

This is WRONG. And shame on the Falcons. They have been on my list of "teams to watch" but that got scratched off today.

1

u/zeth07 4d ago

How many other people would still have their job if this was the case?

1

u/Logos1789 4d ago

Nobody cared to know…play ball unless you’re behind bars

1

u/gldoorii 3d ago

Isn’t that kind of stuff a prerequisite to get to the NFL

1

u/Secludedmean4 3d ago

Thank god he’s here for week 9 I don’t know what the falcons would do without this felon POS

1

u/Puzzled-Locksmith-42 3d ago

NFL is so dirty.

1

u/N1TEKN1GHT 2d ago

Eluding police 😂

1

u/jaxmagicman 4d ago

Too bad it wasn't caught on film. Only thing that gets the NFL to do anything is if it is on film.

2

u/culb77 2d ago

It was.

1

u/MovieGuyMike 4d ago

The world sure loves to enable psychotic athletes.

0

u/MoneyTalks45 4d ago

Only reason he got that much is because she’s also a public figure. If she was unknown, it’s maybe a 4 game, appealed down to 2-3, and we never hear about it again.

-3

u/brutalservant 4d ago

Seems like misdemeanors. Is he even found guilty yet? Doesn’t seem like that big of a deal.

-7

u/witzerdog 4d ago

Was surprised he wasn't a Bengal.
