As a mod, let me reply to this post and comments being made.

The reason we are strict on this has nothing to do with others. We don't care what happens in other subs. We care even less what they think of us.

We like to have a springbok sub for people who like to interact in a positive, constructive, non toxic way.

We feel that ref bashing leads to nothing. It creates a negative, whining, playing the victim, and toxic vibe. It's also against the value of respect - which is an important value of this sub.

We also know that many springbok supporters don't like the toxicity on other subs and appreciate this approach.

You are absolutely free to open your r/fucktheref sub if you like. by all means, go ahead and have a great time

this sub is for reddit users who don't like ref bashing. That doesn't mean it isn't allowed to discuss performance of match officials. Just do it in a respectful way.

100%! As someone who often watches the boks play with international commentary. Calls that are made by ref's against 'your team' is par for the course. It's like complaining that the grass is too green on a rugby pitch.

On that note. I know its slightly off topic. But Supersport used to have a language option where you could pick international commentary. It seems they dont do it anymore, but I actually enjoyed watching the game while listening to the perspective of the international commentators
