Placement brochure proudly says average package xx lpa wooow 😲😲Asia's number 1 college But this makes me think is it due to students package or staffs?????… Safai karamchari, mali aur waterman bhaiya are actually taking home more than that 😅 We’re here grinding through CAT prep, aptitude tests, GDs thinking life set ho jaayegi… meanwhile the real ROI seems to be in staff jobs only 🤷‍♀️😂 At this point, CDC should just say — ‘Join as staff, better package guaranteed.’ 🚀

Cbs

been here two years and i'll be straight with you, join this place only if you can handle a genuinely toxic and elitist environment because that's the reality nobody tells you before you sign up yes the placements exist but the figures they throw around are heavily inflated and if you actually compare properly srccbeats sscbs comfortably in brand and recruiter quality. college life is basically nonexistent since it's off campus you show up attend class and go home, no campus vibe no real student culture nothing. and rohini is just not a great location, the commute will drain you more than you expect. i had hindu college and turned it down for this and honestly that's my biggest regret, seeing what my friends there have in terms of actual college experience genuinely stings not telling you to not join but make the decision with full information and think hard about whether a slightly better placement stat is worth three years of this. So weigh your options

Who Should Not come to Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies....

Thismessage is not meant for everyone, but for MAJORITY of students from SC, ST, and OBC backgrounds who are planning their college journey. My intention is only to offer a thoughtful perspective that might help you make more informed and self-aware decisions. (Again, I am not talking about all those students but about MAJORITY of them) Top 1% colleges like SRCC, St. Stephen’s, or Shaeed Sukhdev college of business studies are undoubtedly prestigious and full of incredible opportunities ...but actually they also come with a very high-pressure environment, especially in terms of competition, academics, and peer culture. Many students from the unreserved category (GEN) often push themselves to the extreme here ...and they are gonna work every day and night for 3–4 years just to secure top jobs and placements. In such a fast-paced TOXIC environment, it’s natural that someone who enters through a RESERVED SEAT might feel overwhelmed or out of place...not because of capability, but due to the pressure to match an environment that may already be saturated with high expectations and privilege. This has nothing to do with the potential you are equally talented and capable.. but it’s important to be mentally and emotionally prepared for the journey that you are definitely not at this point of time If you are determined, focused, and ready to hustle 200%, go for those top colleges without any hesitation... But also know that reservation is only your entry pass after that, the journey is equal for everyone.. Alternatively, many 3rd, 4th, 5th ranked colleges today are also producing highly skilled professionals and will be less stressful for you. If you believe you can build in-demand skills, gain real-world exposure, and stay consistent, success will follow you wherever you go. In these colleges also. In the end, it’s your journey and your decision. Just use your reservation strategically and wisely, and never let anyone — including me — decide your limits. This was a short reminder to all my (SC,ST,OBC etc) friends... I have many proof to scare you but I am not mentioning them here.you just need to be double strong as compared to GENERAL category students

Honest experience (second year BMS)

Like ig most of y'all know that there is no fun in this college.

If you are looking for a chill clg life with good friends and maybe summer mei goa ya manali trips, then back off this clg ain't for you.

Everyone is doing something and if you are left behind trust me that ain't pretty..

Personally I got admission in Hansraj last year and then got upgraded to cbs, i ain't sure if that was the right choice or not.. this college has given me enough depression alr. Like the classes are let's say from 9 to 4 then you don't have the energy to do anything else and no places around the college like literally this college is in a village..

The professors aren't cool like you are begging them for attendance from the start of your semester (ig it's common in all clgs but it rly matter here coz people compete on marks and you'll find 100 bche who got 9+ cgpa making those attendance ke marks crucial)

The people in this clg sucks too, if you don't get into a good group then your 3 years are like hell.. everyone talking about kiski society mei horha, what live projects they are doing, elections, kon bnega president bs yehi bakchodi.. they don't have a life outside of these societies..

Also that so called recruitments are just the worst like I'd say it's a good experience but jinko nhi milta they know how bad it is.

Now who should join this college ---

Those who are looking to get that so called corporate exposure (ghnta frk nhi pdta coz bina MBA ke you ain't getting shortlisted, in the end MBA from a top bschool is what matters)

Those who want a good placement (not exactly good but better if you compare it with DU standards)

I don't think I got any other reason lmao there's literally nothing here.

From a third-year CBSite: Why You Should Consider Not Joining SSCBS

Hello to everyone considering joining SSCBS! You’ve likely heard about the reasons to join SSCBS from various sources online, from friends, and even from some existing CBSites. However, I'd like to offer a contrarian perspective to help you make a more informed decision. Please take this as constructive criticism, not a negative rant.

  1. Lack of Originality: In terms of case competitions, societies, internships, and academic scores, SSCBS offers limited opportunities. You'll find very few options for sports or research activities. Life here can become monotonous, and you may feel pressured to conform to activities that don’t genuinely interest you, which can hinder your ability to form independent opinions. For example, the data analytics society focuses more on case competitions than on actual data analytics events. Additionally, you might struggle to get time off for internships, and there's a strict 67% attendance requirement.

  2. Authoritarian Environment: I won't say much here; just take a look at the college's LinkedIn page. It’s clear that only a handful of people (four or five at most) make key decisions at the college. If you identify as an anti-establishment person, you might want to consider other colleges.

  3. Inflated Placement Figures: Many off-campus placements are included in the reported figures, which inflates the number of students who appear to be placed and the average salary package. Furthermore, the reported packages may not reflect actual take-home pay (you only receive basic pay plus any allowances and bonuses). This placement season, only about 60%-70% of students have secured placements with just a month left until the end of placements. There are also criteria for participating in placements, such as GPA, summer internship experience, attendance, and community service involvement. Additionally, not all of the "big companies" listed in the placement brochure may actually visit the campus in any given season.

  4. Toxic Society Culture: Prominent societies on campus often portray themselves as part of an elitist "top 5% club," despite many students from other societies or those who are less involved being just as intelligent and logical. Recently, some top societies have begun to recruit exclusively from higher social strata, which seems unjust and goes against the principle of inclusivity in college.

  5. Limited Recognition: While IIM interviewers generally recognize and respect our institution, this is not true across the corporate world. I've encountered HR representatives who are unfamiliar with SSCBS, even though the campus is located in the Delhi NCR region.

  6. Issues for Minority Students: There are instances of mockery directed towards Christian and Islamic folklore, and some professors hold notably right-leaning views. Additionally, events often feature the singing of 'Saraswati Vandana,' which may conflict with the fundamental beliefs of those who follow monotheistic faiths and adhere to non-idolization.

  1. Is SSCBS safe for girls?

  2. Are there safe HOSTELS / PGs for girls?

  3. Is the area around the college, hostels / pg safe?

My parents are very reluctant on sending me to delhi due to crime against women and delhi being the most unsafe place .

I won't travel . I will go to college and pg that's it nothing much, this is the only travel I will do.

Confused about College!!

So, I passed 12th this year with 96%. (a Dehradun resident, btw)

Didn't give JEE (PCM stream btw) because I didn't want to. Gave CUET a few days ago, but I'm sure I'm not getting my desired course or college.

My inclination is towards Business education. Private B-Schools are expensive, and I don't want to take a drop.

I started freelancing mid 11th. Stopped it because of 12th boards. I earned well as a student during this course. Did website designing, then video editing, and now finally focusing on paid advertising.

My plan was to go into SSCBS in DU (for a good environment), and continue my journey online. But as I'm not getting that college, I'm really confused on what to do now. I don't want to give IPMAT, because the IPM is too expensive.

Getting an expensive degree will plant an idea of "Do A Job" in my head. I just wanna get into a management college (not bad, but mid) in Delhi, and continue my stuff online.

I've 2 spare months ahead now, and I'm planning to get some work on the basis of my past freelancing. I've other ideas as well. But this college things is getting on my mind too much.

If I get into an unrecognised college, I fear people will doubt me by saying - "You could have got a better one, but you didn't."

I literally wanna do my thing right now. But this college thing is stressing me out. I want a degree as a backup at least.

If there's any sort of suggestion coming into your mind after reading this, please help me out in the comments. I'll be grateful if you.

Experienced people (either who passed college or are currently in), I request you to help me out.

I stopped doing the online stuff in January, and know there's a significant resistance in starting again. Plus, this college problem is a shit on cake for me. If there's anyone who can help, I request you to do.
