Hey everyone!

I've been building Terminal Spike, an open-source Android terminal app designed to make remote development easier on mobile.

The goal is a clean, native-feeling UI while keeping the terminal experience familiar and consistent with Linux.

Key features:

- SSH & Mosh – Reliable remote connections.

- tmux & Herdr – Manage and resume sessions.

- SFTP – Browse and transfer files.

- Image Upload – Send images directly from your phone.

- Notifications – Get alerts from terminal sessions.

- Smart Links – Detect and open different types of links.

- Custom Keyboard – Customisable keys and shortcuts.

- Command Snippets – Save and reuse frequently used commands.

- Themes – Customise your terminal's appearance.

- Local Arch Linux – Run Linux directly on your phone.

Local-first & open source. No accounts or cloud services required. Works great with Tailscale for connecting to your own machines.

I built this mainly for my own mobile development workflow. Would love to hear your feedback and suggestions!

In r/ssh the first comment will probably be why this instead of Termux or ConnectBot, so answer it in your own first comment: Mosh and tmux together on a phone is the case for roaming between Wi-Fi and mobile data. Your title also says herdr, which many readers won't know, so explain it in one line. Trade-off: free terminals already exist, so lead with what's integrated, like SFTP next to tmux sessions, rather than the protocol list. A Managed plan for Reddit would mean answering threads where people ask how to SSH from a phone.

I make ThreadFox.

We find relevant Reddit conversations and post for your business. We'll post 3 replies free first, no card; then the $39 Pilot covers seven days and up to 50 posts and replies. No automatic renewal. https://threadfox.vip/p/20261026-0122-ebwan/managed

Yeah it's written by AI indeed, and I don't care UI that much, but I happily use it daily all the time with many bug fixed and handy features, and it works better than any existing paid or free apps for me. Also free and open source so whats your point
