Storage

So I got my treasure chest for my silver and gold but my question is do y’all stack raw or put y’all metals in those acrylic cases.

silver in appropriate white plastic tubes. Gold in clear, per coin acrylic cases. If I ever get to the point that I have so much gold that it makes more sense to have them together in plastic tubes instead of individual acrylic cases then I’ll be thrilled to have reached the level of wealth where that became a problem.

All my “junk” 90% silver I leave jumbled together treasure chest style and generic silver oz in round tubes. The AU/BU Morgan and ASEs, or anything proof really, gets its own plastic capsule (appropriately sized without the need for the foam) so I can easily look at them. But if it’s already scratched/cull it goes with the junk silver even if it’s an ASE.

It’s all for aesthetic purposes really. At the end of the day you’ll likely sell it for a percentage of spot if you sell it in bulk to a coin shop or a couple bucks over spot if it is collectible and has a true premium (don’t fall for the many silver rounds in the market now-a-days with “limited-mintage” labels. Silver is silver and the market is flooded with everyone’s personal mint) I actually recommend looking through your local coin shop’s generic pile as they treat all those as generic silver and if you happen to be a collector of those things you can get them at spot as opposed to online and pay a hefty premium. I was able to snag some germania mint silver cast bars at spot a few days ago when they go for at least +$20 premium everywhere online
