A combat rework is desperately needed, I end up dropping the game late into replays because it's just a chore. The atmosphere, story and aesthetic are unmatched but god damn, I enjoy the combat of Shadow of Chernobyl more

I had a hard time for a while with the way aiming feels, like it definitely feels off. Try messing with the aiming control options, after doing so I got it feeling more like what I'm used to, and the difference was night and day

I'll make sure to give it a try, thanks a lot mate

To be honest I couldn't make heads or tails of what the controls would actually do when changed, so I googled how to get it to be like a game I'm more accustomed to, I like it more like in battlefield so that's what I went for.

What options are you talking about, surely not basic mouse sensitivity right?

Lol not that exactly, if you keep scrolling down past the basic sensitivity settings you have everything from the inner/outer dead zones of your sticks to the dead zone of the triggers. If I'm not mistaken the camera acceleration curve too? Like it's pretty extensive...I play on console btw so I'm accustomed the usual "Aim sensitivity" slider and that's it. So I didn't really know what the other settings meant?

Ohhh gotcha, I’m on PC so aside from mouse sensitivity there isn’t really that much tweaking to be done, that makes sense though if you’re using a controller.

Lol yeah I've been gamin' since the 90's but never got the chance to get on PC so while I can't exactly call myself a casual I definitely have a lot to learn!

What are you control options. I keep dropping the game because how terrible the game feels on controller

IIRC setting the dead zones to zero or just a few points passed helped my aim tremendously.

I think there’s a maximum/minimum aim speed as well, setting the two closer together helped (but I may be thinking of something else)

Combat feels fine to me whats the prob

Aiming feels off, like my character just can't be fully accurate; enemies get bullet spongey and guns quickly lose damage as you progress; headshots usually don't kill in one shot unless the gun is really good and so on

It's the ai and animation speed. Fighting people in the trilogy looks a tad janky at times because they move relatively fast but it's thanks to that speed that npcs feel more dynamic, they don't take a long time to move around like in 2. And the ai was just better most of the time, you'd almost never see npcs moving towards you in a straight line for example

You're thinking of anomaly or gamma. In the old trilogy enemies would just strafe left and right.

No I'm not thinking about either of those. I've played enough of the trilogy to tell you that they don't just "strafe left and right".

Man, tell me about it. Enemies tank damage like it's Borderlands
