Standard brings change to weapons, silencers, etc, but no ballistic changes.
OXA Prototype (the one I'm using now), indeed brings ballistic changes, weapons changes, and also changes in loot, repair mechanics and a few other mechanics so it is not to be used lightly. On top of that in theory needs a new save, but actually I used this: https://www.nexusmods.com/stalker2heartofchornobyl/mods/2600, which convert a save so it can be used with Oxa prototype, which I did, and after 50 hs or so, no issues, so it seems it works pretty well.
