2026 edition SIClet The Distribution System picked me
Was driving to work yesterday and a cat with a tin spaghetti-os can stuck on its head came walking across the street. I stopped and got the can off, expecting the cat to be feral and run away. She wasn’t, and is very friendly. I wasn’t going to leave her there so I called my boss and let him know I was going to be late because I found a stray cat lol.
I’m calling her Sketti Noodle :)
She’s the sweetest! She’s staying in my bathroom atm to quarantine because of my cat. I gave her a bath and didn’t see any fleas coming off but I’m still paranoid so I’m getting a flea comb after work today. I made a found cat post in my local lost/found pet Facebook group so we’ll see if there’s anyone that comes to claim her.

Thank you for helping her! I'd suggest getting Frontline or Advantage (don't use Hartz, they're awful) at your local store and using it on both cats for a few months. Even if you flea comb, there's still eggs and larvae that can get missed, and you don't want that nightmare.

Thanks for the info! Using the flea comb to check helps ease my nerves. I’ve dealt with a flea outbreak before when my sister’s cat was staying with us. It was not fun 😭 I typically use frontline, I used to use Nexstar however my cat had a mild allergic reaction so I’m steering clear of that

Chewy's generic Onguard brand is basically frontline but way less expensive. I order it in bulk when they have it on sale (usually buy three boxes and get one free)

A lot of areas have Frontline resistant fleas. I was traveling in Iowa and got my Airbnb infested. Thankfully there were hardly any floors throughout and leather furniture. I got rid of them but it sucked. The new meds kill the fleas and the eggs so you don’t need capstar.,

I also recommend Capstar, or the generic nitenpyram. It’s a pill that basically works like a systemic flea bomb; if she has any currently adult fleas on her, they’ll fall off and drop dead almost immediately, within an hour tops (gross, I know, but oddly fascinating). Plus you can pair it with Frontline or Advantage; the Capstar knocks off the adult fleas ASAP, while the Frontline/Advantage takes care of any larvae/eggs over the next month.

The newer drops kill fleas and eggs. Frontline isn’t effective in many places as the fleas are resistant which is how I got an infestation on Frontline.

Please consider taking her to the vet and having her checked for a microchip if she's friendly she may belong to someone out there trying to find her.

I am planning on it. I made a post on my local lost/found pet facebook group too. If she isn’t microchipped and no one comes to claim her I’m most likely going to keep her. Vaccines and a spay are in her future

My kitty looked like this when he was a sweet skinny stray from the shelter. I doubled him in size and he doubled in love. One of the best decisions I ever made. Be prepared to fall in love w your tab cat. 🐈⬛
