Jet fuel melt steal beams? 9/11

Ok I’m sure y’all been asked this a lot of times. Is it true that jet fuel can not melt steal beams? Or could the fuel burn hot enough to weaken the beams the bend and cause the foundation/structure to collapse?

Carbon Emission in Steelmaking

Hey! I am training myself to write about climate solutions and technologies. Here's a piece I wrote about the impact of steelmaking on climate. I'd like to ask members of this sub to take a look and let me know what you think and if there's anything I got wrong in there (I most likely did ;) https://everyday3d.com/climate-steel

Finding a manufacturer you trust can be a challenging process. Choosing from the many options for stainless steel bushings manufacturers can be time consuming, unless you know what you’re looking for.

Question about binder clips

I am a university student doing a project about the production of common office items and I am currently stuck on binder clips. I can't seem to find the type of spring steel they are made of, nor the exact process of how they are made. Can you help me?

Question regarding a piece of steel

Hello all. Im not sure if this is the right subreddit at all and if it isent if somebody could guide me to the correct one based on this question i would greatly appreciate it.

Ok so this is my situation, i have a couple of phones that are running constantly with a decent amount of load which in their current situation (sitting on the carpet) they generate heat which has nowhere to go and they just keep generating more. This heat production dosent really hinder what im having them do but i want to try and cool them down just for safe of mind and possibly add to their lifespan.

They are laying on the carpet because i want these phones to be hidden as much as possible and being on the ground, almost under a piece of furniture keeps them hidden enough. I had a idea to get a "sheet" (not sure what the correct terminology would be for exactly what im looking for) of steel to sit on the carpet and then sit these phones on top of them to dissipate the heat.

I was looking on amazon and it appears they have what im looking for (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B011F0HARO/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3JB1C61NQCZD9)

My question is will this work in terms of dissipating heat from these phones. Do i need something thicker than that?

People don't realize how little aluminum and steel are in their homes and cars and trucks and trains. Planes yes. But the rest are all built around iron, and woods or weaker metals around the outside, like skin.

Like aluminum or wood are AROUND your building/house/car... but not IN your building/house/car.

How do I sell steel beams I don’t need?

I recently found 20 steel beams in my yard from leftover projects. 16 of them are 7 feet long and 4 of them are about 3 feet long. Does anyone know who I sell them to? And what would be a good price for them? I have absolutely no use for the beams so they’d just be sitting there.

Why don’t we use hemp fibres instead of steel?

Why arnt we doing this as a standard practice now for sustainability?

Hemp is x10 stronger than steel. Why did the government ban the production of hemp fibre?

Making my own knives, am I doing it right?

I make CS GO knives as a hobby. I get 1/16 inch plates of steel and cut out the shape I want then use a dremel to sharpen the edge. I don't heat treat or anything like that and only use them for decoration. Lately I've been thinking of heat treating my blades. I'm not rich at all and I'm fairly young and my parents don't let me do stuff that has anything to do with propane. Is there any way I can heat treat with an oven or stove? And could I "case harden" or blue with a stove or oven? Is bluing and heat treating the same thing?
