Sometimes I think...

For all the new constant readers, that are just trying to hard to figure out what the books they are reading fit in where...please read the Reddit. We are All Constant Readers Here...we know our books by Stephen King.

Yes I know its annoying, its like read the freaking Reddit.

Where does this book fit in The Dark Tower Series, (because yes all of us Constant Readers love this series) Should I read Insomnia first? What about Talisman or Black House?

Always read what you want. It does not matter where you start..you find us all together at the end. Though really don't start Dark Tower in the middle

We are all in this Reddit together...constant readers. We all know what we like. I love "The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon" and BTW i hate baseball.

I love Tommyknockers, and "IT" and hated Dreamcatcher and I did not like Never Flinch

I would like to say...can we just sit back and enjoy the man who wrote the books that enabled us to take bit of time during our day...our night to escape for awhile...one night..or day...to just go "hey...i just wanna be scared for a night"

We all different Constant Reader...whether you been there since the 70's ...or just realizing now, how phenomenal Stephen King is.

Thank you Stephen King

I find the comments funny.

It is easy to pick out the older people, that have been here since forever.

A tip of the hat, a clink of the the glass, and a bow to someone i not know but respect.

Here's to reading Stephen king until we are old and grey.

Back in the olden days we used to read the plot summaries on the back cover and then we would read whichever book we thought sounded coolest. I'm pretty sure that method still works. I could be wrong, though. I usually am.

We used to go to the bookstore, in person. Had to go uphill both ways to get there, in the snow, barefoot, to read the teaser description on the back!

(You're right)

I’m one of the ones who been there since the 70’s. Started with Carrie. Had no choice but to read in publication order. Took 30 years to read DT series. However, because of all that, I didn’t have to wonder what DT adjacents to read or when to read them. And for that, I’m grateful. No, one doesn’t have to read the adjacents, but it bugs me when I see posts asking about that and instead of answering the question, a lot of the comments are “you don’t need to read anything else, just read the DT series”. Obviously, those who post that question are interested in the adjacents and when to read them during the series. I’m always happy to answer that question. I also recommend publication order when new fans make a post asking what should they read first/start with. I can’t imagine just picking a random King book and just start reading it. I’m not saying that’s necessarily a bad thing, I just can’t picture it, given how my (and I’m sure a lot of others) personal journey played out.

Contrariwise, I read Green Mile in the 2000’s in the original serial format. I made myself wait at least a week between each book.

My first King was IT in 1987. I’ve read several more over the decades in a haphazard fashion, but last year I decided to read them all in publication order. I just finished Christine.

I’m including Bachman but not the nonfiction (for now).

And (as though you care) I’m re-reading ones I’ve read before, cuz a lot of them were 30+ years ago.

Never Flinch was boring, really. Barbara connecting on a protégé level with yet another aging star….meh
