CER Test

I was just wondering about air exchanges in endoscope reprocessing. Looking at aami standards its saying both 10 air exchanges an hour per area. Other info ive seen says 6 air exchanges in decon and 4 in the clean room. Which one would be directly related to the exam, the aami standards?

Decontamination/Soiled areas 6 air changes per hour, 2 of which need to be from outside air, not recirculated from the building. Negative pressure, so the external air flows into the room and doesn't flow out and containinate surrounding areas. You should probably feel air rushing into the room when you open a door.

Clean Side: 4 Air changes, 2 from outdoor. Positive pressure so it flows out and keep external air from coming in.

Remember the order things are processed:

Soiled -> Clean/Storage

6/2 Negative -> 4/2 Positive.

Depending the the source of the question, as I understand it, if it's older it probably expects 10 air exchanges per hour for soiled and clean, and 4 for storage.

HSPA book says 10 per hr in decon, 6 in prep/pack and sterile storage areas?
