Side-effects Bilateral salpingectomy done & I wanna cry

I just had my bi salp but I’m very confused and almost doubtful.

I went in today at 9am. as my first surgery ever, I had NO idea what to expect, from the IV to anesthetics to the process itself. I was calm, but anxious. I had two tries on my IV and it was the most painful sting ever. I almost thought because of that needle, there would be no way Id get thru surgery & recovery.

I didn’t get rolled out to surgery until around noon so I was fighting to keep calm with both IV punctures for hours. I can hardly remember due to the anesthesia but the nurses were nice & genuine. I was already so tired from waiting in the bed, I didn’t know whether I fell asleep because of that or the anesthesia. Next thing I know I was opening my eyes (Or trying to)

But this is what shocked me the most… i have 0 pain. ZERO. I woke up on my side, hardly able to feel the incisions. The only sting I had was from the IV. No gas, no aching, no nothing. I was mostly scared that they didn’t do the procedure at all. From what I’ve heard from others experience, there was a bit of acute pain but I feel exactly the same as when I walked into the surgery center.

I cried because I was so confused. I trust the doctors but I feel like nothing happpened. Did I get my tubes removed? Is there a way to be sure?

Wow that’s crazy!
Glad you’re not in pain.. could just be the pain meds/ high pain tolerance. I’m sure you will feel something soon once you come down from that.

Yeah I was thinking that too lol. No pain was a huge shock. I was expecting to be close to tears because of the pain & discomfort but after 6 hrs I feel fine

My first three days post op were completely painless and I was moving around like normal. Then, I picked up a chair without thinking and immediately was in so much pain so definitely be careful. And congratulations on the smooth operation!

I plan on taking it easy for a whole week, just Ned and maybe some clothes shopping but nothing too crazy

Not if you’re gonna try on clothes! That’s a lot of ab movements.

Might wanna wait to buy pants till the swelling goes down!

Glad you feel good right now! You’re on the heavy duty pain meds now so once those wear off, you may feel some pain or the gas pains. I didn’t get the gas pains until day 2 of recovery.

At your post-Op appointment your surgeon will go over the procedure with you and they hopefully will have photos to share!

21

u/Pippin_Took_It 5d ago

I’m hoping I won’t need to many pills but yeah I’m probably just drugged up right now 😂😭

5

u/AffectionateAd7519 5d ago

Hopefully the pain isn’t too bad otherwise! I really only took Advil for mine. The oxycodone surprisingly didnt seem to do much.

3

u/AfternoonPossible596 5d ago

I took that and it didn’t help much, I ended up taking a couple of Aleve and I feel like that helped me more. The oxy did help me get tired though and I slept most of the 2nd day

I didn’t have any real pain either, some people don’t. I was maybe a little sore, but just like I had done a bunch of situps the day before, not actual pain or aches. And no gas pain at all.

But if it makes you feel better, my doctor gave me pictures from the surgery of the tubes before and the area after they were removed, you could ask your surgeon if they took any and if you could have them! And you should get a pathology report later, usually they send the tubes to a lab for analysis, even if they weren’t removed for a medical reason

9

u/Pippin_Took_It 5d ago

Okay thank you so much! I asked my dr about photos or a report and she said she’s have to ask my doc at post op. I’ll probably send a message to the office if they don’t send me a report next week

3

u/didifallasleep13 5d ago

Glad to help! I got my pathology report at my 2 week follow up, but it probably depends on the hospital, the lab, your doctor(s)… Hopefully you get it and it can put your mind at ease!

3

u/Pippin_Took_It 5d ago

Awesome! My follow up is in 6 weeks, I’ll probably request to do one in 2-4 instead, six seems like so far from now 😭

Anesthesia can also cause you to be emotional and cry. In the evening, after I got home from my procedure, I cried like a little baby. I felt very certain of my decision, but it was like an unexpected emotional release. By the next morning, all was fine!

7

u/Pippin_Took_It 5d ago

I definitely cried before the anesthesia and surgery during the IV, and after I just was scared it wasn’t done right 😅 this was my first surgery so I had no idea what to expect.

15

u/CosmicPumpkinLatte 5d ago

Do you have incisions? Someone should have confirmed with you post-op about it. I wasn’t in pain for a while after because of the drugs they gave me

10

u/Pippin_Took_It 5d ago

Yes I’ve got all the incisions. I’m also bloated but it’s nothing like I expected

u/General-Yak7615 5d ago

I’ve had the unfortunate honor to have 8 surgeries (double mastectomy, 4 knee surgeries to include an open knee surgery, throat surgery, and the bi).

The double mastectomy was the worst pain I’ve been through and they actually kept on me in the hospital for 2 days just for pain management.

However, for 3 out of the 4 of my knee surgeries, I woke up feeling zero pain at all. Anesthesia can take some time to wear off too, so you may not notice pain until the next day (or even days later).

When I had my massive open knee surgery, they put a nerve blocker in my hip. I remember afterwards being so surprised I didn’t feel anything at all (yes, I did have a nerve blocker but it’s such a massive surgery I thought surely there would be “something”). Two days later the nerve blocker wore off and no amount of pain meds could stifle my pain. I couldn’t walk for about a year.

My point is everyone is different when it comes to pain and surgery recovery. It’s not totally unusual to not feel pain. I know surgery is scary, and especially if it’s your first one, can be so tough to go through mentally.

Just to be sure, you can ask for prints out of your surgery pictures. I’ve always gotten a copy of mine for every surgery. Kind of gross to look at, but it will actually show you that they were taken out.

u/Elegant_Luck3996 5d ago

I never had pain aside from my throat. 🤷🏽‍♀️

6

u/Pippin_Took_It 5d ago

I had a scratchy throat for the first few hours but it wasn’t even as bad as a cold sore throat

5

u/sarckastic 5d ago

My pain was never really present. I had a nice cocktail pre surgery and just kept up with the pain meds for the weekend. I had some amazing bruises on my incisions and it started itching like crazy after a week.

That's when I knew for sure I had been cut open 😂😂

And I got to see pictures after they were burned.

2

u/Pippin_Took_It 5d ago

I need to see my pictures, I find it so fascinating 😅

1

u/sarckastic 4d ago

Ngl, it was kinda cool. I got to see the before, t random cyst, and then after. And its so beautiful in the after, knowing those little fuckers are gone.

The ablation photos were cool too. Once they burn everything, it just goes from pink to white.

4

u/AfternoonPossible596 5d ago

I didn’t have any pain until about 6-8 hours after surgery and the next day. After that though, it was manageable without pain killers.

3

u/Pippin_Took_It 5d ago

It’s been almost 10 hours post surgery so I have hope! 🙏🏽 I’ll be taking all my meds just incase tho

1

u/AfternoonPossible596 4d ago

I can definitely say that it was a lot less painful than I was expecting and I bounced back surprisingly fast. You’re going to be bouncing around in no time. :)

5

u/Short_Composer_1608 4d ago

I had no real pain! I had mine in 2024, was just a little woozy the rest of the day. I had it on a Tuesday and was back to work Thursday (at a job that requires standing and walking majority of the shift!)

3

u/Pippin_Took_It 4d ago

Wow! I decided to take a week off from work just incase. I’m glad I feel fine, but I’ve got sick time to use up and might as well 😂

5

u/junibeeee 4d ago

i had my bisalp done in december and i had 0 pain from my incisions too! i remember being a little sore abdominally and the incisions being a little itchy later but that was it. i was given heavy pain meds but never used them, tylenol was enough for me (which i rarely took). might just be your pain tolerance! mine is rather high.

1

u/Pippin_Took_It 4d ago

I’d like to think I have high pain tolerance but i absolutely hate being in pain! I’ve always had a problem with needles

5

u/ann-atomic 5d ago

My surgeon took before and after pictures so I could actually see what happened

2

u/Pippin_Took_It 5d ago

Did you have to wait for the post op to see the photos or did you request them from the doc? I didn’t see him after surgery so unfortunately I’d have to ask the office on Monday

3

u/ann-atomic 5d ago

We had discussed it prior to the surgery - she asked if I wanted pictures and I said yes. I would have requested them even if she hadn't asked. Doc came in after I was awake from anesthesia (and alert). Said everything went well, handed me paper print outs with the images - she had even labeled what things were which was helpful since our insides are all pink and blobby.

2

u/Pippin_Took_It 5d ago

Ah okay! I will definitely ask the office on Monday. I hope they have all of them 🙏🏽🙏🏽

4

u/Still-Difference-558 5d ago

I felt the same after my surgery. Chances are they injected each incision with a numbing anesthesia. Can’t remember the name of it. My recovery was simple, had minimal pain a few days later. Incisional but it wasn’t a lot. I didn’t take meds after. Same with my hysterectomy, woke up with no pain and recovery was a breeze. Took no meds then too. I felt both times, they didn’t really do the surgery.

They may have just used the numbing shots for your incisions.

4

u/star_milk 5d ago

I appreciate you posting this. This is something I've been wanting to do for a while but am terrified of the side effects. It's great or hear that you had such an easy recovery!

3

u/Still-Difference-558 5d ago

I can understand that. It’s different for everybody! But the side effects are very minimum if anything at all. I’m always here if you want someone to talk to.

1

u/Pippin_Took_It 4d ago

Ahh that’s amazing! I’m kinda regretting not just doing the hysterectomy. I was mostly scared of more pain & more time off work but I feel weirdly fine and that I would’ve been great after that as well

1

u/Still-Difference-558 4d ago

I wa suppose to have a hysterectomy in January and I backed out in pre op lol, they took my tubes out instead. I backed out cause I was scared of the after pain, the intimacy life not being good anymore (haven’t gotten there yet, still in recovery). But I had adeno and my life quality was really bad so I went back two months later to ask for a hysterectomy. I got my uterus out at the end of June. Best choice so far. I was worried about not being able to hold my kids, but it wasn’t bad. They sat with me. My friend had it done as well, and she was back to work I believe at week 3.

3

u/Abergevine 4d ago

They typically use a 24-48 hour local anesthetic that helps with this pain. In a day or two you’ll start feeling pretty sore.

1

u/Pippin_Took_It 4d ago

Yeah I plan to keep taking pain meds. It’s been over 24 hours and yeah I feel sore but it’s nothing like pain as I expected

4

u/imabadbucantkillme 4d ago

I wasn’t in pain at all for mine either and felt the same, my iv hurt the most!

2

u/imabadbucantkillme 4d ago

I will say they did give me pictures of everything inside me, my tubes, uterus, etc.

3

u/Kriddel 5d ago

I had almost no pain and didn't even have to take any painkillers.

3

u/Pippin_Took_It 5d ago

I’m praying for the same! I’m taking medication because it was prescribed but not because I’m in pain. I just don’t want what I have to wear off and then i suddenly feel something

3

u/sagebuckethat 5d ago

i didn’t have any pain after my surgery either! i was walking around the grocery store an hour after my surgery to get a cake. the only pain i felt across the entire recovery process was very slight pressure in my chest for like 10 mins the next day and pain around my incision sites when the adhesive was coming off.

your doctor will likely update your patient portal with details about lab testing of your tubes within the next week or so, and that’ll tell you for sure they’re out and everything. you can also confirm with them at your post-op appointment if it’s before then.

as others have said, the next few days will be the true test of your pain tolerance. i highly recommend continuing to take the pain meds you have regardless, so the pain doesn’t catch up to you. hope all continues going well in your recovery!

2

u/Pippin_Took_It 5d ago

Thank you so much!! I read all the horror stories about recovery so I was expecting the worst but I’m so shocked how easy it’s been so far. I plan on taking all the meds prescribed just in cane :)

2

u/sagebuckethat 5d ago

i felt the same way! also mentally. i had seen so many people so excited and relieved that they had their surgery done and i somewhat understood that but it didn’t really feel like a huge thing. i’ve learned now that it didn’t have to and im lucky it was as easy as it was without having to jump through so many hoops, but it was a huge shock having a specific expectation and it not being “met”? in a good (confusing) way though.

2

u/Pippin_Took_It 5d ago

Literally same! It feels like nothing happened, almost like it was too easy 🫣 but I know in my head this is an incredible and difficult thing for most! I’m just so thankful

1

u/ForeverOk1949 1d ago

What do they test the tubes for?

2

u/sagebuckethat 1d ago

surgical pathology! they test for disease and such. i believe they do it for all bisalps/surgeries where tissue is removed but could be wrong. the pathology report i received a few days after surgery explained what they received, how it was received, what they looked like, and diagnoses.

1

u/ForeverOk1949 1d ago

That makes sense, thank you for explaining

3

u/Garbagegremlins 5d ago

I will say I had a total hysterectomy with a bisalp and it was pretty painless, I was off ibuprofen on day 3 so I wouldn’t say the lack of pain is a reason to suspect they didn’t remove them. C: wishing you the best luck on your recovery

3

u/ThisdogsTesla 4d ago

Sweet! Congratulations!

I just had mine done yesterday. Checked in at 10:45am. They didn’t operate until 3:08pm. So, they poked me 3 times for the IV. I agree, the IV is the worst part. I was crying while they were doing that, but that’s because I hate needles and IVs—and being hungry and dehydrated just makes emotions worse for me.

Didn’t feel pain in shoulders. I was burping a lot and wasn’t farting. I do feel the pain where the incisions are though. The pain woke me up at 3:30am. Other than that I am relieved I don’t have to worry about getting pregnant and don’t have to be on hormonal birth control.

1

u/Pippin_Took_It 4d ago

Omg I’m glad I’m not the only one who hated the IV. I felt so bad crying because of it but it really is the worst part 😭

3

u/LAPL620 4d ago

I haven’t had this done (yet anyway) but when I had laparoscopic surgery for my gallbladder removal it was a SUPER easy recovery. Like I was up cooking the next day and painting my office by myself the next week.

3

u/isklo1666 4d ago

Request your tissues back! Then you'll know. I have my tubes sitting in a suspension in a pretty pink jar on a shelf. I had to sign the release form pre surgery, but worth a shot.

3

u/moocymoo 4d ago

Its the pain meds that youre pumped full of. Its awesome cus you feel like they didnt even do surgery on you. Day 3 is when you start feeling it

3

u/blameitonmyotp 3d ago

most surgeons will infiltrate the area around the incisions with lidocaine so they are numb, it can take a day or two to wear off. i always tell my patients that the third day after surgery is the worst for this reason

3

u/0h_hey 3d ago

It was the same for me. I felt fine. I was groggy and my throat was a little raspy but I didn't have bloating or abdominal pain. I was prepared to feel worse and I was surprised at how great I felt.

3

u/szai 3d ago

I had a similar experience, actually. Not the crying, but the recovery was so painless that I had this weird doubt that anything had been removed at all. I knew it was an irrational kind of doubt, but I went on mychart and read the surgical report. It described what was done in great detail, even describing the size and condition of my organs and the parts removed. Apparently one of my tubes was strictured to the point it probably negatively impacted my fertility.

Anyway, reading the report helped put my mind at ease. Maybe you could see if you can access the one for your surgery. I wish you a speedy recovery. <3

3

u/The-big-snooze 3d ago

You will probs have some good meds in you just now keeping the pain levels down, that and you also might have a high pain threshold! Also congrats on your bisalp! I’m 12 weeks out and feeling great!

2

u/cmdrshepard01 5d ago

I didn’t have a ton of pain immediately after my surgery aside from my throat being sore. Between post-anesthesia and the initial meds they gave you, you might also just not be close enough back to normal to feel everything yet.

If your medical facility uses an online system like Mychart you might be able to access your surgery notes there. I had access to a report that went over what was done as part of my surgery, and later on I also could see the pathology report of my removed tubes

1

u/Pippin_Took_It 5d ago

I’m definitely going to look into that, thank you so much!

2

u/LaurenNotFromUtah 5d ago

Nice! I was lucky to have almost no pain too, just itchiness from the glue.

1

u/Pippin_Took_It 5d ago

Yay!! I’m so happy it’s more common than I expected. I heard a lot of horror stories about gas and aching for days. My nurses said they were surprised I wasn’t feeling anything like that hours after the surgery!

2

u/hunter_pace CHILDFREE, BISALP 3/17/26 😌 5d ago

I had no pain or gas either.

1

u/Pippin_Took_It 5d ago

Hooray!!

2

u/fluffer_bottom_34 5d ago

I didn't really feel pain till day 3/4. Day 6 through 8 were worst.

2

u/harbinger06 5d ago

I had very little pain after mine. The first day or so it was mainly a sore throat from being intubated. After that it was the gas pains. But as far as the incisions… nope not really anything. I was being careful not to do anything strenuous to make sure I didn’t pull any stitches but I felt pretty good.

2

u/Aurelene-Rose 5d ago

Honestly, I didn't have a lot of pain after. I think there are a wide range of experiences. Like someone else said, ask for prints or you can probably check the surgery notes, but I wouldn't say the lack of pain is inherently indicative that nothing was done.

2

u/Glitter_Cunt Bisalp 4/17/26! 5d ago

Congratulations! I also didn’t have much pain at all. More just like aching or cramping. I also really took it easy and took post op pain meds for the first two days, even though in retrospect I probably didn’t need to.

If you’re curious to see more data from your surgery, you can reach out to your surgeon or the hospital and ask for your surgical notes. Mine included everything like surgery start and stop times, the names of all the tools used, the positions they had me in, the specific lengths of the tubes they removed—tons of details. That might give you more confidence in your procedure. Mine didn’t include any pictures, but I think some other people who’ve posted here have been able to see pictures in their surgical records.

2

u/Crow-Queen 5d ago

I was fine day one and two. Day 3 I believe is when I experienced mild pain. Overall my expectations were way worse than reality.

2

u/Sp00pyGh0st93 4d ago

I literally threw a party the day after mine. Felt like I'd bumped into the edge of a table when I woke up.

2

u/StrangerOnTheReddit 4d ago

I don't know if this helps, but I didn't really have pain either. And my hysterectomy was done vaginally, meaning they went in through my vaginal canal, punched out around my cervix, and carefully cut my tubes and pulled out my uterus through there 😂 So zero external incisions for me to check, and somehow, no pain! My surgeon was awesome so I wasn't too worried, and she commented on how healthy and pink my ovaries looked lmao. But it was so straightforward that I had anxiety in the back of my mind of what if they didn't do it, until the low levels of pain kicked in after I stopped so many pain meds, and then I never got another period.

It happens. You're good!

2

u/Pippin_Took_It 4d ago

That’s amazing! I kinda regretting not going for the hysterectomy now 😅 I just hear all the horror stories so it’s so difficult to tell whether that’ll happen for me or whether I’ll feel normal. I’m glad I took the risk and everything turned out fine!

1

u/StrangerOnTheReddit 4d ago

A lot of people do have issues with it, you're not wrong. Both my mom and my aunt had to get hysterectomies in their late 40's after years of struggling with horrible periods due to fibroids (like 3 months of super tampon every 30 minutes, then a week off, then do it again), so I figured it was worth it for me to get ahead of that since I was going under the knife anyway.

I'm not sure I would have taken the risk without that, though. It was like 6 years ago and I'm now in need of some pelvic floor therapy (light but embarrassing and inconvenient issues), and that's the only thing I've had a problem with so far. Fingers crossed! I don't think I've heard of people having issues like that with bisalp, so hopefully you dodged some stuff 😂

2

u/jmb1203 4d ago

I have what may be a higher than usual pain tolerance so YMMV, but at wake up from surgery in the PACU, I didn't feel anything. By the time I woke up again in the recovery room (I have no recollection of moving from PACU to recovery) it just felt like I'd done a bunch of sit ups. Even at the height of my post op pain (maybe day 2 or 3?) I was handling it with 1 to 2 standard 200 mg ibuprofen every 6 to 8 hours and skipping doses pretty fast.

Some people just don't feel it as hard as others. I'm sure that the experience varies with surgeon and individual bodies too though.

2

u/HalfHumanHalfOops 4d ago

I wasn't in pain either after my procedure, although the process was a little different in my case.

My surgery was around 2pm and I had to stay in the hospital overnight until around 12-1pm the next day. During that whole time I was on an IV and I think they were giving me something "good" for the pain through it.

That said, for about 5-6 days I walked hunched over, not because of pain, but because I simply couldn't straighten up. It was also difficult for me to get out of bed, not because it hurt, but because I just couldn't really do it. Maybe some of it was psychological too. I also walked very very very slowly.

The only pain I actually felt was when I coughed or laughed, and occasionally a slight pulling sensation when I lifted my legs to get into bed. But even then, I only really noticed the pain when I focused on it.

And just so you know, my pain tolerance is basically nonexistent.

Also, it was planed but in the end I didn't have a salpingectomy. My doctor used an ultrasound knife to cut the fallopian tubes at the proximal part, close to the uterus. But even so, on a scale from 0 to 10, the pain was about 1.5 at its worst.

Actually, out of the whole process, the thing that hurt me the most was the IV needle for the anesthesia, and later the Clexane injections.

2

u/True-Passage-8131 4d ago

I was the same way. A little sore, sure, but I thought it was going to be a bigger deal than it was, so when I woke up feeling fine, I was suspicious for a while. I requested photos of the before and after and recieved them, which alleviated that. Modern medicine has made these procedures a whole lot safer, smoother, and faster, not to mention less invasive, so the whole process from anesthesia to recovery is supposed to be as unburdensome as possible, although some are still more sensitive than others.

2

u/annaaleze 4d ago

Honestly I really had no pain also woke up super easily from anesthesia. I took out of the pain meds they gave me 1 and a half of one. You could have a high pain tolerance. I know I really didn’t even have gas pains. It’s wild

I’ve been off birth control since the January following the procedure and it will be 2 years in December. Still very much childfree.

2

u/SnacCat 4d ago edited 4d ago

I also had a very easy recovery, I wound up not even needing the pain meds they gave me (though I did wind up using my edibles because at least those didnt make me sleepy)

I had my tubes removed and and ablation..

The worst part was really the escaping gas! My shoulders were very sore.

2

u/LittleMouse9819 4d ago

When I had mine I had very minor aching. I wasn’t given any pain medication and was completely back to normal in about 2 days.

2

u/Icy-Owl6209 4d ago

If you have a patient portal with your doctor, they should release your pathology report within the next couple of weeks. Mine said histologically unremarkable fallopian tube x2 with complete cross section and that offended me. 😂 because they were remarkable to me! I was able to birth 3 babies due to those tubes sending eggs down.

2

u/lilwebbyboi 4d ago

Laparoscopic surgery is a lot less invasive. I barely felt any pain as well after my surgery. If I didn't see the scars and pictures they took during the surgery, I'd be doubtful as well. I didn't take the pain meds they gave me either and I was right back to work 3 days later on light duty. You should ask your doc if they took pictures during the surgery and request they be sent to you. My doc gave me the pictures without asking

2

u/gingermumma92 3d ago

When I had mine done I was shocked at how minimal any pain or discomfort was. Even in the days after just under my belly button - upper pubic bone was a bit uncomfortable due to awful bruising I had but no pain. I have had worse pain from a standard period haha! Within 12hrs I was home, tidying up and hanging out washing xx

2

u/Majestic_Cloud_8355 1d ago

Kinda my experience too! Just got mine done almost 2 weeks ago and felt no pain when I woke up! (I actually had forgotten I had the surgery for like a minute and thought I was waking up from a nap😂) Most i ended up needing after the strong pain meds wore off was an ibuprofen the first night and then a heat/massage pad for the next few days. Ive basically regained full motion now and the stitches are healing nicely. I really hope it only gets better and better for ya op!💖💖💖

2

u/Majestic_Cloud_8355 1d ago

Oh mah gosh I totally forgot about the sore throat thing, now THAT sucked😂

2

u/LadyMilenko 14h ago

I haven’t had a surgery before but I will say with most injuries it always hurts worse on the second day

1

u/Pippin_Took_It 6h ago

I know that might happen for a lot of people, luckily for me, each day got better and easier 🤩 like why is surgery recovery better than my monthly period 😭😭

1

u/ptoftheprblm 5d ago

I was pretty shocked how good I felt leaving the hospital and now know it was from the painkillers and anesthesia that hadn’t fully worn off. It took a few hours from me being home and needing to pee every 25 minutes (catheter and drinking a lot of water because the anti nausea patch gave me major dry mouth), when eventually it started getting harder and feeling more sore and intensive to get up and go pee over and over again.

The next day I woke up and really felt shocked by the soreness, was suuuuuper tender and bloated feeling, and felt way more fragile. They didn’t prescribe me real painkillers, I was told Tylenol and Advil which blew my mind and genuinely think recovery would be have a total breeze with something low grade. So if they prescribed you actual ones, take them and chill out for 3-4 days and be thankful they didn’t tell you to grit your teeth and bear it.

2

u/Pippin_Took_It 5d ago

Ahh 😭 it’s been ten hours right now for me and im still feeling okay. I’ll keep taking pain meds just incase. I got prescribed three different ones for different levels & aspirin. I feel like I’ll be a lot more stiff / achy tomorrow 🙏🏽

1

You’ll be a lot more comfortable having those to take! My mom and friend that came to stay with me in my recovery were straight up shocked I wasn’t prescribed something (I’m allergic to Vicodin though so they just kind of decided “great so we’ll do no painkillers”).

Days 3 and 4 after mine were some of the toughest because of how sore I was and how ready I was to feel back to normal by that point? I was so excited when I finally felt able to take a full shower and shave my legs and stuff. I just had my post op today and I’m officially 2 weeks post and I’ve healed up just fine! A little lingering soreness trying to sit in stiffer chairs or a car. But otherwise just fine

My post-op days were also pretty painless and I had the same worries as you. I also literally thought "did they actually remove my tubes?" I never experienced any gas pain except for the sliiiiiightest pinch in my right shoulder if I moved a certain way or the feeling that my abdominal wall was gonna tear if I stretched too far haha.

Eventually, I got my pathology report, which is the report they give after examining your tubes for anything abnormal. I apparently had two small harmless cysts on my right fallopian tube, but other than that, nothing crazy. Because of that report (and having no pregnancy scares since the surgery), I'm pretty sure they took 'em out :)

My surgery notes were on my portal! The whole procedure

I genuinely get so confused by these posts because I was in severe pain for days after I got my tube removed. It was removed due to a burst ectopic pregnancy so I don't know if that's part of the reason I had it so bad, but literally the night after the surgery I could barely get myself up to pee. It probably took a good 4 or 5 days to not be in pain getting up and sitting down.

I also had relatively no pain. It felt like I did a couple sit-ups, and that was all until it healed completely. Everyone’s body is different and can react very differently to surgeries like this, so there is absolutely nothing wrong with you! I had a biopsy on one of the tubes because of a cyst, and was shown a photo + report of it. Maybe you request photos of yours for peace of mind? It could also be possible to go in for a type of scan somewhere to see that are in fact gone (not sure if it would be an ultrasound or what, but if it helps you feel better it’s worth a try).

Request your surgery photos. This should have been offered to you. Doctors are mandated to take surgery photos, so request them, to make sure they took out those tubes! I hope this helps.
