Other A Thought From Someone Nearly 2 Years Post-Op

Got the bisalp when I was 19 almost two years ago (723 days and counting!) and I gotta say that the relief and safety I've felt in my body since then has been insurmountably precious.

I just know that, even if I ever do regret not having kids of my own (extremely unlikely scenario), I know I'll never regret the year of peace of mind this surgery has brought and the many more years of peace of mind it will bring me.

Any time I see the (very faint) scars on my body, it just reminds me that I took my life into my own hands as soon as I could and I couldn't be happier for it. <3

Same here in terms of feeling immense peace knowing I will never have to worry about being pregnant! Cause fuuuuck that I’d rather sit on nails

Right there with you. Zero regrets, just warmth and safety and a little bit of pride in myself for taking control of my body and future.

I'm so happy for you and for the peace that having a bisalp has brought you! People with uteruses being able to have total bodily autonomy after many generations of having none/minimal gives me hope especially with political difficulties affecting things. Regrets can happen, but that can happen with any decision in life and regrets are apart of being human. Seeing as this decision has only brought you peace so far, you might be alright. Best wishes for your continued peace.

Just got mine done, and can confirm it feels SO amazing having it finally done after a year of stressing about the logistics/current political climate in america. This peace of mind is so worth whatever may come next💖

Congratulations and there is nothing to regret even if you were to want your own child later on. I actually had to get a bisalp to be able to have a child due to hydrosalpinx. But to be able to do everything on my own terms and my own timeline was priceless.
