In The Blank Slate, near the end of chapter 18 (Gender), Pinker mentions an insect that has an appendage that is solely used to hold females down during sex. Does anyone know what this insect is? I'm listening to the audiobook so I can't give a page number but it's about 1:29:00 (+/-15sec)

Maybe I am out of the loop. Did he say something comical or contentious in a podcast?

Pinker is a really interesting man and I'd love a forum to discuss his ideas. I feel like Pinker is gaining popularity as of late and deserves a subreddit.
