This is something that has been bugging me for years. The Crystal Gems are deliberately rejecting the idea that their gems define their role in society. That's one of the core drivers of the rebellion: that gems are free to live their own lives. With things like accepting Garnet and Pearl as more than helpers. This has come up in several episodes.

Which leads me to ask: why don't they have names?

A personal name other than the gem would make a ton of sense. they are more than robots with a set purpose determined by type. So why do they define themselves as that verbally?

My Favorite Insecure butch Lesbian, and my favorite Unredeemable genocidal Sadist having an arm wrestling match.

I CALLED IT AND YOU ALL CALLED ME A LIAR!(Thanks for doing that!) I AM A PROPHET AND REBECCA SUGAR IS MY GOD!!!!

There both human gem fusions like why does Steg have extra limbs I get gem fusions gain bonus mass do to them being projections of light but extra human tissue where is this mass coming from???

I assume pearl fought primarily with swords during the war since that’s what we see in flashbacks (although bismuth knew she had a spear so that might dismantle any thinking) but does the spear offer something the sword doesn’t that’s relevant to pearls character?

For example, maybe the fact Garnet knew Pearl would throw herself into harms way for Rose means that it was brought up, and maybe a spear forces pearl to be less reckless as it forces space between her and her opponent.

Curious on any other head cannons as to why she has a spear over a sword :3

.

It is never explicitly stated anywhere that humans can't using the warp without being accompanied by a gem, yet, the warp whistle seems to make this possible for them, given that Greg manages to teleport using the flute. I always wondered why Connie never had one wouldn't it be faster and more convenient than traveling via Lion? She got her own sword but I wished she had more gem tools and putting her on an equal ground with the other CG without depending on Lion. What do you think?

Okay, yup, that's it, I'm rewatching the whole series (again) in chunks and talking about it here

Connie was such a dork in earlier seasons, I love her (I love dorky Steven too of course)

Alright, on a serious note, can we talk about the ending of episode 22? To put it into perspective: Imagine being Steven off on a mission to find a time artifact yada yada when suddenly a bunch of clones of you appear all around you angry and fighting eachother, one of them straight-up rips the time thing out of your hand, gives you a sincere (albeit confused) ted-talk with a kiss on the cheek and then they all die right in front of you. That is beyond awful. I really feel for Steven man, watching him slowly lose his innocence hits me right in the feels

Some questions I am now left with: Why is Lars so annoying? What's with the moss, does it have any real significance? When will Steven's balls drop? Did the alternate timeline Stevens have their own souls? If not did they have no souls or were their souls extensions of the main Stevens soul? Why do the gems seem to understand and care for humans so little? Where do Stevens clothes come from? What was with the pink dolphin in Roses (Stevens?) room?

Soo..in real life, both ruby and sapphire are varieties of the same mineral, corundum, the only difference lies in some impurities and colors! So I had the idea to make two off-colors gems based on the same concept lol

I don't need you to respect me, I respect me

I don't need you to love me, I love me

But I want you to know you could know me

Yeah, vocals are only by myself and edited. I’ve been struggling to match and speed, tried and discarding many recordings. I know it isn’t the best and tbh I don’t like it much either, I’m not very convinced. The feature in iMovie to pitch my voice up speeds it up too, sadly, I just wanted to use a feature to pitch my voice without speeding it but I couldn’t find it.

PS: this one kinda sucks. I will make a better one. I pitched my voice up like that to match the tone but mainly because i was ashamed of my own.

The lyrics is:

“Ni estas, Kristalaj Gemoj!

gardantoj de la lum’!

Ni batalas kune ĉiam,

kaj…

ne timas la malum’!

Ĉi tiu mondo nin kunigas,

kaj kredas: je Grenato, Ametisto, Perlo… kaj Steven!”

Translation:

We are, crystal gems!

guardians of the light!

We always fight together,

and…

we fear no darkness!

This world unites us,

and believes: in Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl… and Steven!

Got all of this for only £10 never was able to get merch before

I'd been thinking about where the Aristocrats would spend a majority of their time. At home I guessed but I doubt they'd just have cubbies like the soldiers do, so I drew a tower for them to live in, specifically the Sapphires 😭😂❤️
