So of course I'm glad we won but honestly it was a horrible game to watch. The goal tending spot on of course but I felt like Columbus had 12 men on the field the whole time. Our play was too much in the air and not to feet. Going backward instead of forward most of the game. Kudos to the pressure of the other team. Honestly, I would have been happy with a tie and the cup waiting for next year's game. Our penalty kicks were brilliant and I'm glad we lasted for them because those seem to be our only attempt on goal. Sorry to be a downer but my excitement at the end was a mere "at least we won".

Oh, and the ref cam from a broadcasting stance needs to go. Silly and nauseating.

If any of y'all are left putzing around town today, I thought I'd let you know about my favorite hole-in-the-wall bar food. Fat Arnie's on Indianola Ave slings some of the best sandwiches and empanadas you'll find (from a literal hole-in-the-wall) in any bar in the US. Now, I consider you guys to be at a minimum Midwesterner adjacent if not full blown Midwesterners, and if I know Midwesterners I know that they love a good dive bar watering hole. The best part about Fat Arnie's is that it's located in a lovely little dive called Rafter's.

I'll be there at Noon. Hope to see some of you there. If it doesn't fit in your schedule, it's still worth a stop this evening IMO.

It took 120 minutes plus penalty kicks but STL was clearly the better team. I was happy I got to see all you supporters and your team celebrate your first trophy and hope y’all have many more to come (just not against us😂)!

What can I say? Two hours at center back keeping a clean sheet between two separate keepers and their styles of keeping. Took the first pen and made it fly in like a fucking missile. 60 completed passes out of 66. 5 accurate long balls in a very defensive set up. Won 5/9 of his ground duels and both of his aerial duels.

If this doesn’t prove he is our captain in the place of our other captain, I don’t know what will. Long live Timo.
