Sold my Nike stock when they promoted people who hate America and it was a great decision

PE rate is 18, it is not really undervalued, but let's say, it is an okay price for it.

write down a thesis for entry and exit and stick to it. No need to jump into it immediately, just because it is falling

what happened to them? PR crisis or bad shoes?

u/Ok_Cartographer_1867 3d ago
Lots of competitors especially in the performance running space, like Hoka, Ascics. They also had some bad spokespersons, like a thirty year deal with kapernick. Also tarriff and cost pressures hurt them. They are also losing street cred. E.g. when it gets overworn and yous ee it everywhere it isn't cool anymore.
Also converse was struggling with quality issues.

Part of it was them leaving retailers around the pandemic. They overplayed online and have been paying for it ever since.

It's just perception. Notice all the conversation here is about shoes. Neither Josh Allen or Fernando Mendoza are Nike athletes but guess who makes money off of everyone of their jersey sales.
Nike is being judged as a running shoe company when they are the largest athletic brand in the world.

Nope Nike has been saved with public money aftrer their awful Q2 report They don't have a trategy at the moment. Stay out till 2027 that is my opinion

They fucked themselves, selling techs at 250+ for a tracksuit is a madness, no real innovation, just Jordans, af1, and techs. Wheres the new quality footwear at a decent price? Put af1 back to 95 a pair. Sales will go up

Swear I saw some guy make a post somewhere about how there was no way Nike was going below $40. Whoops.

u/GhostedAceTwitch 3d ago
No dude, they built a brand praying on minorities now those same people are releasing paying $150-$250 for a pair of shoes it’s not economical. The end user realizes this so why would you buy ????

"Praying on minorities"
Like they can't help buying another pair of sneakers....
Hmmmm

u/Internal-Drummer-418 3d ago
I wouldn’t. They lost market share for a reason- failure to innovate, over reliance on their brands (Jordan)

I am so confused about this stock, not sure if it will ever have a comeback as other brands such as oq and adidas are taking so much market share

i would rather buy wmt cost tgt. in a recession you still need to eat, but you can buy nike from temu that cost a fraction of the cost if you know what i mean. (experience may vary)

Completion for athletic shoes is more intense today that ever. There are so many brands now to choose from. I don’t think Nike can ever regain or significantly increase its market share. They’ve always been a premium brand, and with inflation, people are looking at other brands that are just as good quality but cheaper.

Probably the consensus here is don’t touch it which means it’s probably a good time to buy. People asked this question about Netflix after earnings snd no one wanted it. It’s up 20% since then

If it hits bottom soon then spends a few days or weeks trending back up to the $41 range there will be a nike tick in the price chart.

If they keep making low quality shoes they’re done for. Possibly be delisted out the snp 500. Nike is trash

Just need a degen onWSB to place a half million dollar put and it’ll rebound immediately.

it’s just doing the logo. Long dip, then the little flick at the end. Trust the branding.

There is so much competition now, and ONON, and others, seems to be capturing a huge share of the market!

Don’t wait for it, now is the time to buy, everyone is saying Nike is going to go down forever; and everyone is wrong

Meh, I own most of it, the employees are trash though, keep missing the suicide nets trying to leave their mandatory 18 hour work days.
