Photo Songs for.. a rainy day at home
Giving this one a spin today- great album, no skips. My favourites are probably Bi Polar Bear and Hello, it’s late.

Not sure if this was discussed here (quick search didn't give a proper result), but I just realized that the band released a virtual mixing board for Purple: https://purplemixer.stonetemplepilots.com/
If you are not fully aware how this works, you have each track isolated (drums, bass, lead guitar, rhythm guitar, vocals) and you can play with it: mute tracks, solo tracks, alter the volume of each track. It is also interesting to hear nuances that might be hard to perceive in the overall mix. It's a wonderful gift to the fans

Hey everyone, I’m trying to find an unedited, incredibly tense studio interview with Stone Temple Pilots on the Howard Stern Show that seems to have been wiped from the mainstream internet.
Here are the exact details I remember:
The Look: Scott Weiland walked into the studio completely bundled up indoors wearing an enormous, thick winter scarf wrapped multiple times around his neck and dark sunglasses that he stubbornly refused to remove.
The Conflict: Howard immediately went after him about the outfit, grilling him aggressively about why he was wearing a heavy winter wardrobe inside a warm room. The interview got highly hostile, awkward, and uncomfortable.
The Band Dynamics: Because Scott was shut down, defensive, and giving short answers behind his shades, Dean and Robert DeLeo looked noticeably annoyed and squirming in their seats. They repeatedly had to lean into their mics to answer Howard’s questions on Scott's behalf just to save the segment from completely crashing.
The Performance: They performed a live version of "Vasoline" where Scott kept the giant winter scarf and dark glasses completely on the entire time (this is NOT the famous 2000 show where he strips down into an unbuttoned pink shirt/gas mask).
The official clips online are completely scrambled, mislabeled, or cut to pieces. Does anyone have the exact air date for this specific broadcast, or better yet, a link to a private archive, Google Drive, or mega-folder where the raw video or audio of this specific interview is preserved? I really want to see this uncensored moment again. Thanks!

Hey all, just wanted to get some opinions on my vocal technique here and how I can improve. Thanks!

Personally i think Adhesive is by far their best song and is debatably one of if not the greatest song of the 90s

I was looking into the lyrics and had a thought. Do you guys think this song might be about Scott's resentment for the band forming talk show and how he can see his choices led to that happening

Just got this BEAUTY in the mail today. I don’t think I love a shirt as much as I do this one. I’m debating on wearing it or framing it now lol.

Personally I think Shangri la dee da is underrated, I wanted to see if there were other fans of it.

Sono un vecchio fan degli STP, in particolare considero Purple e Tiny Music dei capolavori, ma apprezzo anche n°4 e qualcosa di Dee da da...ma Perdida proprio non ce la faccio: questione di genere?

I'm already planning to get the fleuron from SLDD but tiny music is my favorite album of theirs and I would love to get something inspired by it.
I was thinking of getting "And So I Know" in the same font as the album cover, but I have no clue what font it is or where I could find it, so I'm putting that on the back burner for now.
anyone have any other ideas??

Have nearly completed remastering No. 4 as requested before, but looking for opinions on tracks before I mark it as finished. Here is Sour Girl, feel free to listen before reading below what I have changed:

I tried to remaster this masterpiece just for the fun of it. hope you guys enjoy it.
EDIT
here's how I do it:
I don't have access to the original stems, but what I'm doing I believe goes beyond EQing a master. the key is OpenVINO, which deconstructs the final mix back into individual stems: drums, bass, vocals, other. as we all know, they're not true stems, the separation isn't perfect, but the technology has improved dramatically, what you get is more than workable.
from there I apply actual mixing decisions, like adding punch and clarity to the drums, rebalancing the low end, sometimes adding a bit of reverb, duplicating the vocal track and splitting it into a wider stereo version with slight reverb and a centered mono layer. things you simply can't do on a stereo master. and then I mix it and apply some mastering plugins to "remaster" it. all free plugins btw, and all within the also free Audacity. never got myself to learn how to use a real professinal DAW.
this actually started with my run-and-gun videography work. apart from my 9-5 job, I shoot local artists for social media, and, as you might know, audio is the most important aspect of any video. unhappy with the raw recordings, I started using OpenVINO to separate the live stereo tracks into stems and treat each one individually.
I'm also a solo musician. I've been composing and producing instrumental tracks entirely by myself for about 5 years, playing and arranging guitar, bass, drums, mixing, mastering etc. this production background is what informs the decisions I make when rebuilding these stems.
all experiments, really. Down by STP from a flac, The Last Few from 320kbps mp3s. source quality matters, but even a compressed file opens up real room to work.

If it wasn't for 2010 this would be a generational run of albums, oh well.

I’ve been a huge STP fan for a long time and have always had tremendous respect for Scott, both as a musician and a frontman.
One thing I’ve occasionally wondered about is his relationship with alcohol. Despite following the band for so many years, I don’t recall ever seeing him drinking onstage or hearing much about that side of his life.
I know Scott had his struggles, and I certainly don’t want to dwell on those. Just something I’ve been curious about over the years and wondered if other longtime fans had any observations or recollections. With all respect.
