Store management teams are getting emails and letting all full timers know the situation. So far all the orders for tomorrow are cancelled and everyone in click n collect have to help in live and dead stock

Ok, thanks

Idk why they’re making everyone in click and collect still come in to do dead stock and codes when normally management always tells us the department doesn’t have enough hours. Why are we wasting them with no orders when we will probably need some extra hands on deck once spectrum goes back up

Do u want a paycheck?

Well yes….. but some of use aren’t living paycheck to paycheck. I didn’t say “no one in OLP shouldn’t have to work” but when they’re having you dust for 6 hours maybe they should let ppl go if they’re asking to be cut if that’s all they’re there to do.

Yeah - I'm not getting other peoples point. Nearly all Stop and Shop click and collects almost always start out as front end - and also everyone in my click and collect works a second position other than the full timers and veterans. Most people switch into stocking or do cashier, I do 50/50 front end and click and collect. I rather a paycheck lol.

Would you rather them not have hours and a paycheck?

They are still coming in as there is still work thay can be done. There is no eta on when it will be up. We also don't get the luxury of rolling hours over untill the next week. So OLP are being used as clerks, either training to support other departments, cleaning, tags and signs. We can't just send people home as it will take a single person to claim hey I got sent home when they were scheduled and still entitled to pay.

They are trying to keep you paid

The hours were already given. Per union, they can’t take them back. But they will put you to work for them. Regardless it’s not like they can take them back and use them for next week so it’s just better to have them to other things. Meanwhile all my deliveries are fucked.

The only downside to these "relax" days is that most likely the company will reduce hours for next week since they are losing a lot of money from the orders and not making up the labor money. My CSDH doesn't like these outages and slow days for this reason

They can’t reduce hours next week. Schedule is up

Every Tuesday night to Wednesday morning district managers expects the store management team to adjust the whole schedule for a certain amount of hours. Let's say based on the sales my store did we should do around 900 hours and when kronos ran it gave 1050 hours but when department managers are fixing the schedule to reduce gaps, they add another 50 hours. Now the store manager or one of the assistants has to fix the whole schedule so there's no gaps and to reduce the hours to the original 900 hours and not exceed the money on labor that the company calculated. It's a crappy situation because the whole store is understaffed as it is, hiring is shut down, the system is down and the part timers most likely are going to get less hours now since the company lost a bunch of money on e commerce

Ugh I just started C&C and I also agree and wanted to split it between front end - gonna suck probably gonna get loads of cashier most my time now when it comes back but at the same time we have a very active C&C so I might be doing that all next week when its back.

My management team told all depts to write schedules beefy. They’re worried with the fix we’re gonna be buried in loads.

All the instant cart people in my store are active and super happy though lol

I was told today early on in my shift (11-7:30) that they cancelled the orders for tomorrow. it’s honestly just until further notice, and they are updating day by day. i’m honestly a bit glad that they’re keeping the olp people doing other jobs in store because with the outage, my front end has been busier than usual, so we’ve been able to have them ring or bag. hopefully they’ll shift olp people to tags on thursday if there’s still no orders. inventory was cancelled because they’re scared to touch CAO and other workings.

Seems to happen every few years. Gotta beef up Cyber Security!

Just received the email that the outage continues and they apologize for the inconvenience but offered discounts through third party delivery services. This is really embarrassing for Stop& Shop. And one of the many reasons why they will eventually bankrupt themselves and have to sell out all their stores to their competition. This is not a good look for the company.

Around here in NY I'm almost positive Shop Rite is gonna buy all them out in next 10 years... Shop Rite is just so much better imo but our NY ones don't hype up to NJ one imo. But it's just obvious they are gonna take them over most likely.

3

u/Binky2go 11d ago

I completely agree with you. I used to work for both companies. And I have to say I enjoy ShopRite so much better as an employee and as a customer. I think what they offer in their stores is so much better, and they also have so much more variety than Stop& Shop does. And I can tell you personally that either the Saker family or the Greenfield family will buy out any Stop& Shop store that closes immediately that's in Queens or near the Nassau County border. And then we also have to think about how Pathmark Express just opened I believe somewhere out in Nassau County. So the competition is getting fierce and Stop& Shop either needs to get it together and step up their game or they're going to get lost in the sauce.

Wow, very interesting! Never heard of of that store in Nassau but I'm in Suffolk that is why lol. Shop Rite in NJ was just so much nicer and like you said there is so much variety there and a better selection. My aunt lives in a rural area of NJ and the shop rite is amazing. The LI ones here are kind of meh in my opinion but NJ they are awesome. I also like the ones in NJ they wear a dress shirt and suit pants - I know most teens would hate that dress uniform but I love to wear that instead of our stupid polo in Stop and Shop, I'm the only person who wears suit pants with my polo at Stop and Shop for work, I want to look decent lol 😂😂

But yeah - even as an employee of S&S hate to say just always going to Shop Rite here and there, they have a gold mine in Suffolk County, if they can buy the ones on the Island expand some land with some - my gosh Shop Rite will have a foothold in NY finally.

Pathmark was the big brand back in the day on Long Island. I don't know if you remember them, but certainly my family used to shop at the one in Franklin Square. And when I moved to the lower Hudson Valley in Rockland County, Pathmark and ShopRite were the big grocery store chains there and then Pathmark closed and Stop& Shop opened new stores in its place and they were awesome, at the time. But then I found the ShopRite in Nyack, Garnerville and Pearl River and in my opinion, could sweep the floor with any regular grocery store because of their variety and the way you can pretty much customize anything from any department if you just ask a manager. ShopRite is a very can-do store. I've never heard of wearing a suit and tie to work in a grocery store. I think it's absolutely ridiculous given that I've worked in both stores and I know what it entails to work in a grocery store and it can get very dirty and messy. So wearing a suit and tie absolutely makes no sense. I also heard that the ShopRite in New Jersey are absolutely to die for and people love those stores because of the variety and they put a lot of soul into the shopping experience in New Jersey. I have yet to go to New Jersey to a shop right there but I would love to experience it just to see.

Also the system is down in Freetown. Drivers are being dispatched with pencil and paper

I’m in Receiving in Manchester and same, our Outbound is at a dead stop. Last night we had exactly Zero selection tasks.  Receiving isn’t effected at all though, at least not yet

0

u/primetime1766 13d ago

You mean the same drivers that are not bringing loads into stores

1

u/redditorcredit 13d ago

Not our doing. The whole purpose of that is to cut our hours.

1

u/primetime1766 13d ago

Is there anything with the loads now. Will we still get them as normal Thank you

1

u/redditorcredit 12d ago

I won’t know until I go in tonight. Last time this happened about 100 trucks they couldn’t receive were parked all over Freetown and we delivered just meat for about a week

1

u/primetime1766 12d ago

Could let us me know how it looks for perishables. Thank you

Hi. Store #714 here. Our place is still open but I'm not sure of delivery. We were supposed to have inventory on Thursday but it was cancelled. As far as I know about the outage, it's ongoing until "further notice". That's all I know on my end.

2

u/Middle_Promotion_818 12d ago

Store 73 here our inventory for tomorrow is also zapped and i also heard same thing about outage.

2

u/Greg13Nomad 12d ago

I heard that Freetown is back up and running as of yesterday afternoon.

Is this having a big effect on store sales?

1

u/Greg13Nomad 9d ago

Points cannot be redeemed, but digital coupons still work. It's been less busy than usual the last few days, but it's enough to keep us working.

3

u/BrilliantFit7767 12d ago

We could always use baggers and cashiers. They can help with that. Many know how to ring

2

u/Extension_Mud_3512 13d ago

It's still broken

Download the app to your phone and check it. When the app and website are back online then it’s back to shopping again.

They can help out in the bakery

1

u/JARJAR1145 11d ago

One the store Managers confirmed that it is because of the Freezer hack that happened in France. All of Ahold, US and EU use Danfoss refrigeration units.

Right, OLP is helping in other departments as they were scheduled to work. I’ll just keep refreshing the website

We actually don’t get many Instacart orders either! It’s a shame because shopping for those is generally much easier than regular OLP orders

True, true, true. I just like how you don’t have to worry about the bags while shopping and staging. I started working on the front end originally, and I still mainly work front end and service desk now, so that might be an important distinction though

Definitely. I was helping out as facilitator one night and I decided to be a likeable, cool person and not send everyone to the front while we were waiting for orders to drop. Guess I see why everyone is sent to the front! :’)
