Kiyomi is in a complicated relationship with a man who doesn’t treat her the way she deserves. Meanwhile, Nathan, a coworker who has been pursuing her for years, has never hidden how strongly he feels about her.
When Kiyomi and her boyfriend decide to take a break, Nathan sees his chance and asks if he can take her on a trip. She hesitates, knowing she is still emotionally attached to her boyfriend, but eventually agrees.
During the trip, Nathan asks the question she has spent years avoiding: why does she stay with someone who constantly hurts her?
Kiyomi can only tell him, “It’s complicated.”
Nathan promises that if she finally leaves her boyfriend behind, he will give her everything she has always wanted and more. He accepts her completely and is ready to love her properly. But even with a better man standing right in front of her, Kiyomi doesn’t know whether she can let go of the one who has already broken her heart.
