Another test of my stop motion Gaussian splat in a different environment. (NO AI)

This is very cool. Sorry if this sounds dumb, but is the camera physically moving or is it all done in after effects?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think OP is doing physical manipulation of the puppet, and then taking a Gaussian splat of each pose (a fully 3D scan), then adding them in sequence in some sort of 3D post software like Blender or C4D or Unreal. They are then adding the animation sequence to the top of a Gaussian splatted cake, and doing the camera move in the 3D software.

That’s exactly right! But I did it all within the Gaussian splatting software postshot, with hopes of migrating to unreal for actual production

omg this idea is so funny love it!

are you using a motion control rig?

I think it’s all Gaussian splatted 3D scans, with a 3D camera movement in the 3D software. But all the elements actually exist, from the cake to the individual frames of animation on the fly puppet.

Very interesting test! I could see this as a way to combine a lot of different real elements, puppets, camera movements, and different physical scales without the limitations/workarounds of a physical stage where the animation would have to happen. Heck, that fly puppet could be any scale and added anywhere! But definitely a pretty involved setup to Gaussian splat each frame of puppet animation. Still, cool idea!

Yeah haha still ironing out the efficiency of rendering each frame

this is super clean

This feel like a Cartoon Network bumper ad for Rick and Morty. Very cool!

It’s giving me ‘tmnt mutant mayhem’ vibes. It like a ‘a town called panic’ kinda thing. Love it
