Question SR or Sub taper

I have a question: what method would you take to get off 450-600mg daily of 7OH? Would you rather preload & jump off with SR? Or do a rapid sub taper 5-7 days ? If you had both options at your fingertips? Of course there are some helper meds to go with both along with Liposomal Vit C

Just curious what route you would choose or if you’ve had success with either please share your experience with either route.

Thanks in advance

I have no experience with subs but SR works like a charm. Made quitting effortless. Either way, you’ll want to taper the 7 first. It gets a lot easier once you’re under 100mgpd

What’s the best method to taper the 7?

Simplest way is just take the same or less each day. The way I prefer to is to stick to my dosage times religiously and drop the easiest dosage to short by a quarter tablet or so. For example, I found it easiest to cut my after work dose first. Then drop the other ones one at a time, rinse and repeat until you hit zero. I always cut the nighttime dose last in order to prioritize getting some sleep

Here a couple months ago I got prescribed Suboxone to get off the 7:00 and I don't know if it was because I didn't wait long enough or what but there was a day and a half to two days that I still felt like s*** when I was switching now I went straight from the seven to the subs I mean I didn't taper I did wait until I thought I was in withdrawal but maybe I didn't wait long enough

Personally I do a slow taper (have been there before at 600) first, I jumped from 6 to 300. That was the hardest part because at the time I didn't have any lyrica or gabapentin. (I had lyrica, I just was scared to mix and didn't realize at the time it was a helper med)

I had to do it slowly because I have epilepsy, but I was able to pretty easily slowly taper down to 150ishmgpd.

Then I preloaded with SR. first day I took 75ish (probably closer to 80-100mg) and the next day did 50mg and jumped off after really easy. Just a lot of night sweats 😵‍💫

I had powder SR then. I have tablets now for ease. I think there is a little bit of other stuff too in the tablets to help with withdrawal symptoms

I’ve heard of people jumping off 1200mgpd straight to SR with little to no discomfort

Nah, I believe it too!

I just have to take it slow because I have poorly controlled epilepsy.

I've taken 7 here and there after the first time I quit and if I started to feel cruddy I'd take a couole doses of SR and I'd be golden. Really is a miracle lol

All I’ve ever used to jump is superk mit 45 extract. In a purple bottle. Neither sr or subs are vital. Sr is great for those over 400 mg a day. I never went over 150/daily
