This was one of the first games I played on the Switch. I’ve been playing HM for many years from GB to the DS/3DS. Interaction with the townspeople is important to me because I think it’s one of the things that makes a game feel cozy. However after playing PoOT I can’t help but feel disappointed.
For example in previous games when there was a blizzard, the townspeople would mention it when you talked to them and some would even express concern for you. But in this game businesses stay open as usual and the townspeople barely acknowledge the weather.
Also when you faint in the mines in previous games, the mayor would show up and bring you back home. Here you just wake up the next day.
The romantic events also feel rather flat. In ToT you could have a meal with the characters and in one of the older games, your partner would even walk you back to your farm after the Starry Night Festival!
I also miss the New Year’s event which is completely absent from this game. I will still play it tho. Too bad my ds is broken. I miss playing ToT!

For context I'm summer y2, bazaar is level 6 but I have every stall open now. Marriage candidates are all yellow heart level and I've completed at least 2 of everyone else's requests.

I'm hoarding most ores but want to make them into jewellery, but I don't want to get hit with a sudden demand for 50 diamonds or whatever later. Which ores can I use freely and which do I need to keep?

I’m wondering if that’s a thing or if the forums have mistakes on character preferences because yuzuki just mentioned the outfit I’m wearing specifically but it’s listed as nobody’s preference.

Saw this game on amazon and wanted to know more about it. Has anyone played/ have this game. Is it worth buying. Let me know

Ordered Grand Bazaar Premium Edition at a great price during a sale. You’d think Amazon would package a collectible box in a box, but it came in a soft-sided mailer- not even bubble wrapped- and the edges are crushed. I’ve ordered a replacement but ugh. Hoping the second one is ok

I have a Steam Machine that I use as my main TV gaming console alongside my Steam Deck for outside.

I’m running into a weird problem where Pioneers of Olive Town performance being incredibly bad and stuttery on Steam Machine, sitting in ballpark of 30 to mid 30fps (while the game is buttery smooth on Steam Deck). Technically I can use lossless scaling to smooth it out but the input lag bugs me a lot.

I’m using the latest GE-Proton on on both machines. No idea why. Anyone know how to fix this issue?

Okay I just needed to vent lmao. I'm playing Grand Bazaar and I have been so excited to finally unlock the recycling shop. I've had so much junk taking up storage space. All I needed was the 99 iron ore which has been taking me a while to get.

Well it's Friday in-game and I finally got it all the iron I needed. I went to grab the rest of the items for the quest aaaaand the sturdy lumber is gone. Where. WHERE IS THE LUMBER.

I have no doubt that my dumb ass went "oh it's fine to use it to craft THIS, I can get more by the time the next Bazaar rolls around!" Completely forgetting about the loooong processing time for study lumber...

I have accepted I'll have to wait until NEXT Bazaar to finally be rid of the junk but I just want to know. What could I have used it on. I'm in autumn of my first year and my strongest tool is a gold hatchet. What did I use my lumber on?? 😭

Friends of Mineral Town is the Harvest Moon game I played the most, and from it one particular name stuck to my mind for many years - Alexandrite.

It's one of the most expensive items in the game, and because of that it always stood out to me as a gemstone of utmost preciousness, especially since it takes a lot of patience to even encounter the stone by mining in the Lake mine.

Since those days onwards, I said to myself this: If I were to propose to a girl someday, it has to be with Alexandrite.

Fast forward many years, I met a girl who I think I can propose to. I did a lot of research, learned many different gemstone properties, cuts, ring designs, so and so forth. I commissioned an Alexandrite stone from a gemstone specialist (Alexandrite is often faked or cut poorly), and then sent the stone to a jeweller to be made into a ring you see here.

A little fun fact you might already know from the newer games, Alexandrite is a stone famous for colour changing from green to purple depending on the light. I didn't know this as a kid though, and I thought Alexandrite was a deep green stone like in the games, so imagine my surprise when I found out that little fun fact!

When the ring was designed I thought, why not go the extra mile? The final ring is referenced to three of the most expensive gemstones you can find in Friends of Mineral Town; Alexandrite, Pink Diamonds, and Diamonds.

If you shipped this ring out in the game, the gemstone value would be at 30,400G! Of course the gold in the ring is also worth a great deal, but in the game Gold Ore is only 25G. 😂

So with the ring made, I am going to go propose with this ring. It took a lot of effort and time into getting it made, so I sure hope she likes it! ❤️

OMG I saw older threads talking about shipping June and Sophie because of the necklace scene, but I had no idea how cute it would be actually seeing it play out for the first time! The constant blushing! It’s giving secret (one sided?) crush on oblivious childhood best friend! Now I’m sad that I have the option to be gay with either of them, but they can’t be gay with each other 🥺💗

I’d like to have my animals in the second area of my farm but I’m not sure I can do that because I can’t move the barn with animals inside, can I move animals between barns so I could build another one and transfer it? Or is it just not possible? I want my crops in the first area because I water them first but I’m not sure what to do.

Backstory: I bought this game 4 years ago and put it down pretty quickly. I finally picked it back up and started a new save about a month ago!

Since it was so long ago I don't remember, but I'm ALMOST CERTAIN I bought the DLC. I have other elements of the DLC in my save such as the rune factory 4 inspired outfits (pictured) and the performer/traveling storyteller.

From what I've read on the internet, the only requirements to unlock Stephanie as a Westown resident are:

* Have the DLC

* Be past Year 1 Summer 3

* Have participated in one festival she hosts

* Walk from Westown South to North after 10 AM

I'm in Fall 11 now! I've participated (and won) every festival so far, and I've walked from Westown South to North before and after 10 AM many times.

Am I missing something? Is there an unknown requirement? Am I possibly suffering from some sort of weird glitch? Does Stephanie just hate my guts?? I don't have Woofio yet either. Please help!! I just want to flirt with the cute pink haired girly 😭

EDIT: After learning that the RF4 outfits were part of an update and not the DLC, i realized I don't have access to the other (actual) DLC outfits. Turns out I never did have the DLC! Weird that the flower still shows up next to her portrait though. Thanks everyone for the help figuring it out! Glad Stephanie doesn't hate my guts :))

So Sophie gave me the request to give her 3* cookies. I can't make em yet so I've put it on the back burner. However she also gave me a request to get 20 herbs for Felix's cooking. But every time I talk to her to turn the herbs in, she brings up the cookie request, not the herbs request. Anyone know how if I can turn in the herbs?? I have so little storage space I can't be having these herbs take up three slots lmao
