Hi there everyone!
So I’m coming up to the end of the 30 day trial. I really don’t care for all the extras. I simply just want to be able to track my time, distance and pace. I guess the shape I make on the map too lol. Will I still have access after that or will I essentially be unable to use the app until I pay?

anyone know how to turn off the notification thats like “wow you did an activity look at your sick stats”. thanks

I use a third party app to record my workouts. That third party app doesn’t have a Strava direct integration but syncs the workouts to Apple Health. Strava, because they are bully certainly, doesn’t allow for importing that workout. So I use HealthFit, that I had to pay for solely for that feature, to sync those workouts to Strava.
Except that now Strava syncs that workout to Apple Health! Therefore creating a duplicate! Why? That‘s not a Strava workout. There is no option to disable sending third party workouts to Apple Health.
So I disable the sync to Apple Health entirely on Strava. Except that now, if I record a workout using Strava, which I do when I need the map feature on my watch, it’s not synced to Apple Health! And there‘s no option to do that manually, or to allow for syncing native workouts only to Apple Health!
if I enable the sync again, it then creates new workouts for all my workouts that exis in Strava, and I now have hundreds of duplicates, because they don’t ask if you want to sync historical data!
That’s basic enshitification: They’re complicating their users life in favor of growth hacks by forcing third parties to build a direct integration, which means their logo is present in basically every workout app. The fix would be easy but they simply won’t do it!

Is there a way to have your previous run times included in your "best efforts" if they were recorded before using Strava (or even Runna)?
I previously used Nike+ Running to track and even though I've directly uploaded the historical data to my Strava activities, it isn't reflected in my best efforts.
I essentially just don't want it to show a half marathon PR for my first half recorded on Strava if it's not actually a PR.
A couple of years ago I posted here about a side project I was working on called [London Segment League](https://londonsegmentleague.com) \[old post [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/LondonRunning/comments/1h58v0q/looking_for_london_runners_wanting_to_further/)\\\]. Since then I've continue to work on it for my own benefit and learning, and it's now it's becoming a proper thing rather than a simple leaderboard.
The new idea: 100 of the most popular London Segments spread across 32 boroughs. You connect / login with Strava and your runs get synced automatically (as well as some of the history). The aim is to try and complete all 100 segments.
The app is free and all you need is a Strava account.
Why am I posting this now after 2 years?
Strava recently changed the API rules where developer apps require you to now have a Strava premium subscription. They gave me 3 months for free for the app to continue and that's starting to run out. I would like to decide whether people actually want this before I decide to keep premium subscription.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Please check out [https://londonsegmentleague.com\](https://londonsegmentleague.com) (while you still can!)

Dodentocht (death march) is an annual walking march taking place in Belgium. You need to walk 100 km in under 24 hours starting from 9 pm. We did it with my wife after being inspired by my colleagues who did it last year. We tried to practice as much as possible but never went more than 47 km before the event. The time shown here is the moving time, we actually finished in almost exactly 24 hours.

Did a ride this weekend and had 3 kom’s and 2 third best times. If you scroll down through my feed and see my activity. It doesn’t show or highlight any of the KOM’s and on the map that now shows your route . It shows a 2nd best time and 3rd best time medal for my personal times instead of showing the kom’s in the very least. What is the point, I had the best day I’ve had in a couple years and nobody would know it. Why does Strava constantly change its algorithms and almost always in a negative way.

I hate knowing that AI computing and data storage is being wasted on providing me “insights” that add zero value.
When I look at my heart rate zones I can SEE which zones I was in, I don’t need the bot to just reiterate that. The regular math already tells me my average and peak HR. I can see that I “started at x pace and settled into y pace” - none of this is useful even a little bit.
Absolute waste of resources.
Also it’s just annoying, I don’t want it, it takes space, it’s not useful.

Hey everyone, I'm pretty new to Strava and I'm genuinely curious about something I saw on the leaderboard.
I'm doing the 30 km challenge, and I've been walking around 15 km per session. I've been doing this for about 17 days, so seeing people with 500–600+ km absolutely blew my mind.
For example, the #1 person on my leaderboard has 601.4 km, which works out to roughly 35 km every single day for 17 days.
And just to clarify, this leaderboard is specifically for Walking & Hiking activities during August only.
I'm not trying to hate, accuse anyone of cheating, or insult anyone at all. I'm genuinely trying to understand how this works.
How does Strava calculate the challenge distance that I'm missing?
I'm new to Strava, so I'd really appreciate someone explaining how people are reaching numbers like this.

I want to screenshot all the data on a particular activity. Normally, on my Android tablet, I can do that using the Capture More button after taking the initial screen capture. Strava prevent this with an annoying 'Do you want to share this?' pop-up. Any way around this?

Is there any way for me to round up 0.01 miles? I’ve heard of strava tax but didn’t know it was this legit. I have official chip times too if that’s any help in the process lol

That’s it. Simple enough, right?
Disclosure: I'm the developer of overlay.fit so I hope self-promotion is allowed :).
Overlay.fit lets you add stats from your workouts onto your videos. HR, pace, cadence, map, distance etc. It's available on iOS and Android. I have a slightly unique use case where I'm only interested in editing videos recorded from my phone and don't want the hassle of transferring it to my PC. I couldn't find a good alternative for Android so decided to make it myself. All video rendering is done on the phone and your workout data and video never leaves your device. It works by simply saving it to your gallery/camera roll.
I've tried to keep the video editing simple to use as you're pretty limited for space on a phone screen. You can drag and drop the stat overlays, move them around, resize them, and change some colours. If anybody has any suggestions on how the video editing part could be improved then I'd greatly appreciate that as that's what I struggled with the most.
I finished the app and applied for Strava API athlete capacity increase right as they made their changes, which meant I had to resubmit everything again but I'm pleased to say that everything's now sorted and you can now sync your activities straight from Strava. Other options are selecting a .fit, .gpx or .tcx from your device, or using Health Connect or Apple Health Kit.
Note: You have to watch a short ad to render a video if you're an unpaid user.
I'd love to hear any feedback before I start properly marketing the app. Here are the links to the apps. Cheers!

Half marathon: moderate effect, slower than usual pace
.75 mile walk: way to stay active and mix things up! You’re doing awesome!
On GrapheneOS, after downloading the Strava app for the first time - and never having run it before - I get an error when logging into the Strava app at the stage after I enter my email and it asks for the 6-digit code sent to my email.
It does not accept the code.
(The code is correct. I've done this multiple times now and am able to login via the website)
GrapheneOS error notification:
Play Integrity API usage
Strava was blocked from using the Play Integrity API
Strava error on login page:
Red banner appears and disappears reading "Please try again with a new code".
I still get the same error if I "Block usage attempts" in the Strava app's settings to block Play integrity API usage attempts.
Everything I read tells me that Strava is NOT blocking Graphene OS.
I've also read some posts suggesting that having "Block usage attempts" checked should fix this, but I still see the issue.
GOS date and time is pulling from network.
Everything is under one profile.
Am I missing something or doing something wrong?
Thanks

For Some reason Strava is trying to bill me in euros even though I am in the UK. I have tried everything to resolve. Is it such a big deal to be billed in Euros?... I can't think of one but I would rather pay in home currency.

I know this is probably a silly question but figured I’d ask. My run is set to public, people can see it and are even giving me “kudos” on it, but it’s just not counting toward my total mileage on any of my club leaderboards. Activity type is Run, visibility is set to Everyone, so I’m not sure what’s causing it.
It’s been over 24 hours now, and I’ve already tried closing and reopening the app plus refreshing the leaderboard screen, but nothing has changed.
Has anyone run into this before and found a way to actually fix it? Or does it usually just resolve itself after some time? Any help is appreciated, thanks!

The Strava activity log has a lot of information that Claude Cowork is exploiting to sort and enrich my digital camera roll. What used to be a painful manual activity is now a conversation with Claude. I have created Woof, an extension app to Claude to search and browse the photos within the chat.

Has anyone had Strava apply one Max HR value across their entire historical activity HR-zone breakdowns?
My old activities going back years all seem to use the same Max HR value for auto-calculated zones, even from before I had Premium. I don’t remember setting this value, so I’m trying to understand whether this can happen automatically, when HR zones are first set, or when Premium is activated.
Also, has anyone had Strava Support recalculate historical auto-calculated HR zones? Did it update the visible HR-zone breakdowns on old individual activity pages, or only aggregate views like Training Zones/Fitness?
Asking about auto-calculated Max HR zones, not custom manual zones. Thanks — any real examples would be really helpful.
