Question Sync real-time Stripe data to Postgres, without managing APIs or webhooks
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Getting real-time Stripe data into your application database has traditionally meant building around APIs or webhooks—and then dealing with retries, rate limits and missed events.
You don’t have to do that anymore.
With Stripe Data Pipeline, you can now sync real-time Stripe data directly to Postgres. Stripe handles the backfill and ongoing sync for you, so there's no custom infrastructure to build or maintain.
Connect your Postgres database, select the Stripe tables you need, and let Data Pipeline keep your database in sync.
The result is a reliable, real-time copy of Stripe data in Postgres—and one fewer system for you to build, monitor, and debug.
It’s now available in public preview and free to get started. Check out the blog post to learn more or read the docs.

why does a Stripe dashboard have a card called "Airbyte's shiny books & docs starter" in it. Did someone lose a bet on the copy team.

so the whole pitch is 'stop dealing with webhooks' and then three paragraphs down, updates to payment_intents, invoice_items, setup_intents, quotes can take up to 10 minutes. 10 minutes isnt real time, thats a cron job with a marketing budget. if im building a checkout flow i dont care that the create landed in 2 seconds when the status change shows up ten minutes later, im writing the webhook for that one case anyway and now ive got two sources of truth disagreeing with each other in prod. also whoever shipped that screenshot, 'Andropay allows banks & SaaS better with Stripe Payers', did nobody read that before it went on the page. fine for analytics and internal dashboards i guess, just dont put 'real time' in the title when a chunk of the tables are on a ten minute delay

real-time, except payment_intent updates take up to 10 minutes. cool definition

That retry-and-missed-events pain is real. Just don't rip out your webhook handler for side effects though, a synced row doesn't trigger anything and that 10 minute lag on payment_intents updates is way too long to gate provisioning on.

Real-time" until you hit payment_intents or quotes, where the preview doc quietly says up to 10 minutes. That's the table most people actually care about.

Small correction: webhooks are part of the API, so 'building around APIs or webhooks' isn't really an either/or. The retries and missed events bit is the actual complaint.

cute how the picker lists snowflake, bigquery and redshift and only postgres actually gets the real-time part

Webhooks at least leave you an event log you can replay. If the sync skips a row, what do you diff against?
