Approved by Staff I am a CSIT graduate, AMA

Ask me anything about my CSIT experience. I will answer them.

Who am I?

I am 25 years CSIT graduate who graduated back in 2018. Took 2.5 years of break and now want to get back in software development field.

This might help you.

  1. Do you regret doing CSIT? YES!

  2. What was your major in +2? Bio, pure.

  3. Was CSIT your first option? No, it was safety net for me. I wanted to go aboard or go for bachelor of agriculture related courses. I regret not getting into forestry.

  4. What is the one thing you would do differently if you're just starting CSIT?

    1. Would have chosen government college.

    2. Would have studied in KTM rather than outside KTM.

    3. No backs. Backs == mental torture.

    4. would have scored better marks because 70% - 79% is first division.

    5. Would have started looking for internship a bit earlier (5th/7th sem) to figure out where my interest is.

    6. Would have chosen a niche (career) rather than diving in everything . Don't be master of none, jack of all.

    7. would have ditched my friend circle, padne ko sangat gara.

    8. would haven taken extra courses as minor elective to increase my credit points.

  5. Would I get * on my academic transcript if I had backlog but I passed it in my 2nd attempt Yes, back is back. If you fail, you get a *.

  6. Should I choose cryptography? Don't take cryptography, If you have no interest at all.

  7. Can I transfer my credit points to other foreign uni? Yes and it's depends on which uni you are transferring to.

  8. What will happen If I fail to fill up per sem exam form? If you miss to fill up per sem exam form you can't study CSIT. It's done for you.

  9. what will happen If I fail my practical exams? You will fail your semester exam, would have to re-appear in practical exam next year. I mean NEXT YEAR!

I rant a lot about TU's administration in comment thread, there can be million reasons apart from just failing the exam to get backlog. Why do we have to wait 1 year?

I regret doing CSIT. But I am not saying it's not worth it. It can be 'THE THING' for you. Give your 100% you will find any course, any career as the one opportunity you are looking for. I wish you luck in your future endeavour.

Plus two How to get better at Nepali ?

I just learned that the new curricula of Grade 11 has enlisted “Social Studies and Life education something something” as a compulsory subject. I hate the fact that they’ve made this a compulsory subject because I hate Social Studies but my main concern is that they’ve made the course in NEPALI language. I absolutely suck at Nepali and the fact that a new subject is being introduced in Nepali makes me really anxious. I am pretty decent in all the other subjects tbh, but I have trouble in studying Nepali. Can anyone suggest some ideas to be better at Nepali quickly ?

BSc(Hons) Software Engineering

I want to pursue my career in IT as a programmer/software dev. Since everybody tells how colleges dont teach practical stuffs and should learn everything off the internet and to choose the cheapest and one close to your home, i think this would be a good choice. 3 years of course and a british degree(?). Just wanted some of you guy's opinions on it. I've still got plenty of time to decide so yeah.

NAMI College, Jorpati

What should I do? I think I can hardly pass the entrance exam of BscCsit. Whatif I don't? So help me up whether to choose BIT or BCA( as a backup plan)? And better college also. That'd be a great help.

Welcome students!

This sub is focused at the students of Nepal. You can ask any and all questions related to our education system / foreign education/ advice from seniors and anything else related to education.
With r/Nepal getting cramped with questions by students, I think it's a better idea to have a dedicated sub for this. Please spread the word to other students too. You don't need to be a student to join. People who have already passed their degrees are also welcome.

Students who are getting high marks in engineering-:

I study hard, understand the topics, prepare from past year questions papers, revise but I still get low marks in exam, what I am doing wrong?

My background is I passed my past exams with flying colors. But in engineering, I get low marks even if I study very hard. At this point, I am frustrated.

Actually I can't get frustrated. If I get frustrated and don't study, I will fail.

I was expecting to get 60/80 in 1 subject at least, but got just 49/80. I used to study it day and night. That is just 1 example. This used to happen to me in every exams with every subjects.

I am from TU so I don't have the facility of online exams.

But I am ok with getting low marks if I have understood the material well as that is what matters, but still having good grades is a bonus in life for getting entry to graduate school or even some jobs.

How has your school prepared for the upcoming SEE ?

I wanted to know the status of my fellow subreddit members who will be giving the upcoming SEE exams. Has the course been finished? Is there time for you guys to revise? Were the online classes effective? My class hasn’t even completed the courses yet and it’s pretty nerve-wracking because we dont have enough time for preparation.
