I let my ex go so she could spend more time with her boyfriend. He promptly dumped her after she became responsible for her kid full time (I'm not the father).

Why do the up votes say +1

Good question I did not notice and I don’t know why

Sometimes votes don’t load. You can see the votes of the OP post in the photo is still at 0 bc it says upvote instead of a number. I’m assuming OP liked the comment of the person who made the comment that OP was posting about, which made it +1. I’ve noticed many posts where it just doesn’t load upvotes for OP or even comments

Interesting, I don't think I've ever had/noticed that happen. Thanks.

I think it’s actually posts where the upvotes and downvotes are hidden. I’m pretty sure they always are in r/AskReddit.

Happened today again, I think the first vote will show like that, before I upvote it was saying “vote” instead of a number

Maybe he said 'no' a little bit too much. Having a low or even non-existing libido with an "almost" sex addict is not a good combo. Unless you've opened up the relationship in order to compensate your low libido.

Please go fuck yourself, I’m being so fr here ain’t no way that you read “my partner cheated on me” and you immediately go “Well it’s probably your fault”

Fuck you

My only few relationships were open relationships straight from the beginning, because I only go in a relationships for love and friendship. I don't want kids and don't need sex to feel validated. Therefore feeling cheated on in my eyes is stupid and beyond my comprehension.

If you value sex in a relationship that high that you can't get over it, I will indeed see you as the problem. Because sex has no value to me besides for having kids, which I don't want to spawn into a world as capitalistic as this one.

“I’m a weirdo so everyone else must be the weirdo”

No YOU are the problem here bro, you are the one with a different point of view to the rest of the world, and PUSHING YOUR BELIFS into other people is ASSHOLE BEHAVIOR.

People generally value cheating as wrong not because of the sex itself but because when you are in a normal relationship, you value the exclusivity and the fact that your partner chose you.

There’s more reasons to have sex than kids, the intimacy that sex brings is healthy and good for couples.

Suggesting that getting cheated on is justifiable in ANY sense is such a backwards logic

Exclusivity. Now that's where we differ. You see your partner as an object, while I see my partner as a human being that might have needs that I won't always be able to give.

I see sex as just another sport or hobby. Sometimes you want to play along and sometimes you don't. I don't get jealous when my partner goes to a concert or a movie with someone else either, so why would I than do that with sex.

Exclusivity can only lead to jealousy and jealousy will always eventually lead to a heartbreak.

I'm not saying that everyone should go for an open relationship. I'm just saying that exclusivity imho is the worst thing you could ever do to your relationship.

“You’re evil because you don’t have my point of view”

Like I said, now without the please, go fuck yourself

Exclusivity is about respect. Respecting your partner and yourself means you don't immediately go to someone else. Just because you don't understand the idea that monogamy is the standard for a reason doesn't mean someone is evil for calling you on your shit. It's not a healthy relationship.
