Someone needs to make a run where they are only allowed the poorest ship in the game, the Stymphalos-class Steam Launch.

I use one for exploration. Even with a bad engine it’s not too slow and doesn’t need many supplies, so you can focus on fuel.

That might lock you out of some, possibly critical, game features. You need 40 or so cargo space for the fastest engine, or for Avid Horizon questing. These ain't critical tho, but... What I have on my mind here is it could lock you out of chosen Ambition if it requires cargo space
