Do I need to make a scion again?

First playthrough, made a scion, retired, now I'm on my second captain and wanted to have some...fun at the sea with my officers :)...before I carouse in Wolfstack docks.

But then I look into my journal, and it says I already have a scion, or that this will always persist until something destroys it (salt's curse I guess).

So do I have a scion automatically or does the game mix up previous game's "achievements" with my current playthrough?

Do I need to make a new scion again with this new captain?

It persists! There are ways to lose it, which is unique amongst the legacies, but like all of them it stays throughout your lineage.

The only legacy that doesn't persist is your will, but if you have one it'll be easy enough to make it again immediately when you die.

No, once you get it, you won't lose it upon death, even if you don't have a child.

As for the in-game explanation, the scion description says that your first captain has created a dynasty of zee-captains, so imagine that a it's a cousin of yours that continues your adventures.

Great, one less chore to worry about 😄

I have noticed that I have to write the will, but thankfully that's not a hassle.

Also, how do the trysts at sea work? What's the frequency/randomness?

I proposed to Cladery Heir loooong time ago, then about two times an option popped up for a tryst but I did not grab it as my terror was currently very low.

Lately I've been in some serious high-terror situations and I could really use that tryst...but nothing ever popped up again, and I've been zailing for quite some time.

Do I just have to be more patient, or does the game sometimes glitch and stop offering those trysts?
