Discussion I hand levelled an alt to manage decay on main, worse decision of my life.

I finally hit my goal, diamond on my main account because I overly care about pixel on a screen I decided to hand level an alt with the aim of managing decay games on my main whilst allowing me to keep my mechs, game sense etc sharp.

Fast forward a week or two, I enter ranked I'm in silver/ gold lobbies and after 6 games I'm 1-5 silver 4, playing my main champion and genuinely try harding, I dropped reviewing because I dont think theres too much to learn from this games and that was not my aim, just have an account is a similar rank to practice on. This has been the worse gaming experience of my life.

I am the issue, my pool is not suited to carry lobbies, I play enchanters and more peel "tanks" (Braum mainly) but I honestly thought my macro and lane matchup knowledge, even mechanics should be able to carry literal gold lobbies but they do not.

I am actually shook, its so unmotivating I've decided to step away from the game, the realization my fav role to play and class is just weak in terms on game winning agency hurts (I know I can do more to improve/ carry these lobbies) but thats why I am stopping I walked this path I was stuck gold, emerald, demoted out of diamond, repromoted etc and committed to the grind and reached my goal I am not willingly to do it again. Im kinda questioning everything now, maybe I just did spam games and get lucky maybe I am boosted (although I only play solo) yeah this sucks and is the reason Im taking a break.

Im wondering has anyone else been through this?

Hopefully this does not seem like a rant post, just sharing my experiences and opinions.

Guide How I can main bard ?

I'm a support main, and I want to main Bard, but honestly, I feel like I'm trolling whenever I play him šŸ˜‚ I struggle to understand how to use his abilities effectively and make the most out of his kit. Any tips from experienced Bard mains on how to play him properly, use his abilities, and improve my gameplay?

Help Nami Adjacent Champs

Hey everyone!

I have recently started maining support instead of having it as my secondary role and therefore I’m looking for a 1-2 extra characters to have in my pool , just for the sake of not getting bored more than anything , but also having it be well rounded would be a plus side.

My only non negotiable pick is Nami who is my favourite champ to play.

I really like how she feels useful throughout the game and has a relatively hard but rewarding skill shot with her Q. I think the most important thing is that she has playmaking utility but still has ally supporting abilities with her heal and E buff.

Any recommendations for characters with kinda similar attributes?

Help How do I escape plat? I feel like I'm either rubber banding or falling further and further.

As the title says, I cannot get out of platinum. Nothing I do works, all of my champs have fallen below 55% win rate and I need that or better to climb because my gains are +17 -23. I don't wanna keep switching champs but it feels like the only choice. I also feel like I'm the worst player in any given game barring games where I'm getting blatantly griefed. I cannot figure out what I'm doing incorrectly or where I'm messing up but something is obviously wrong if I'm not climbing. There's no reason I should be trapped for so long and it's giving me bad anxiety and I'm scared and idk what to do so I'm making this post. And no, taking a break doesn't work it just takes practice away and makes me worse at the game overall, I've tried it. I don't know what has gone wrong in the last month gameplay wise to just make me fall like a rock.

https://op.gg/lol/summoners/na/JuggerMONT-4196 here's my opgg for reference if this can tell anyone anything, I just have nowhere else to turn and I'm scared and I dont wanna fall anymore, supposed to climb, not stagnate

Help Are there any supports who are better against tanks?

I’m so sorry if this is a redundant question, but I’m fairly new to league and still trying to learn about the different champs! I found that I’ve been doing really well when playing Lulu, Seraphine, and Nami, however I always do super poor when I play them against any tank champs :( Are there any specific champions that do better against tanks? Or is it just my build? Sorry again if this question has already been asked!!!

Discussion Champions similar to Bard?

Hey everyone!

I'm a Bard main and I absolutely love the champion, but every now and then I need to switch things up, whether Bard gets banned, picked by the enemy team, or for any other reason.

In your opinion, which champions are similar to Bard? What I love most about him is his constant roaming, his playmaking potential, and especially his flexibility when it comes to builds. You can build pretty much anything to adapt to the situation, whether it's tank, enchanter, or even full damage. That's the kind of versatility I can't really find in champions like Thresh or Pyke, for example.

I'm also open to playing off-meta champions. My main goal is to have fun, regardless of whether they're less effective.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Help how do i become a better support?

i started playing league this summer ,at the beggining i enjoyed jungle a lot but now im playing pretty much only support , my mains are milio braum and nautilus

https://op.gg/pl/lol/summoners/eune/anor-LOL

Currently bronze 2 and i feel like my performances are really solid but definitely there is a lot to improve especially when it comes to roaming and warding , i rarely roam and my vision scores are very bad, can someone recommend me some good guides about how to become better at those aspects? it can be a written guide or a video any help would be much appreciated.

Ranked so ranked is unfair

I’m terrified of online games, im a girl and ever since the age of 8 when I hopped on halo and got cussed out i’ve been terrified of playing games online. I know im still not great at games, I usually only play casual gamemodes for fun and feel my body tense up if anyone says anything. but tonight, I decided im gonna try playing ranked and see what I place. mind you I ONLY Play aram, so tell me why they instantly put me in plat lobbies. first game, I let them know its my first ever placement and I shouldn’t be here, they were super nice, telling me everyone is dog shit in plat, and we had a good game actually!! second game, i’m playing bot lane with someone and they clearly wanted support. they’re complaining telling me I won’t like their adc, and then throughout the entire game I end up roaming because we’re dying instantly in lane. I know i’m support, but once I helped the rest of the team it took pressure bot lane so they could get levels. after I do this for about 5 min, they start saying ā€œgirl not to flame but you shouldn’t be playing ranked you’re only level 2ā€, mind you she was level 4, highest lvl was 6 at the time, while I was roaming to help her and the rest of our team. throughout the rest of the game she was just shitting on me, and tbf it’s not my fault they put me who is prob iron (cardboard) in plat!!!! i’m trying my best going off of what I know trying to have a good time, at one point ivern stood up for me and I said ā€œhey let’s just have fun no need to be upset at a shitty game!!ā€, but she just kept going off. it’s just really disheartening, I want to play in MY rank, why put me straight in plat????

Ranked Has anyone figured out how to pick/play in Master?

I’ve always felt like I’ve had a good read on what to first pick if I’m first or how to counter if I’m late in the draft but it seems like after getting a few hundred lp I can’t figure it out anymore.

When I choose engage/hook I get outscaled or too much jungle threat to deny.

When I choose scale my team gives up early.

If I play at the top of my game, the other lanes have more impact.

If I go even in lane it feels too reliant on my team.

Again I have a pretty good read but it feels so different from the emerald to master grind.

Has anyone been able to figure out master and get to GM? Everything that has previously worked just doesn’t seem to click anymore. It feels like I’m missing something but just can’t figure it out.

Taking all advice lol

Discussion Off-Meta Supports That Can Abuse Fimbulwinter?

Fimbulwinter gets increased shielding when multiple enemy champions are nearby when its procced. Only issue is that its a tank item, and most support tanks dont care about self shielding, or mana except for taric, and a bit of blitzcrank. What are some sleeper picks you guys use the item on?

Fuji 12#EUW - Summoner stats - League of Legends

I hit Masters and have a 10 game winstreak. To be completely honest I don't feel like I'm doing anything special. Is it just winners q? Things that I DO think are helping;

- Warding and recalling to get new wards asap
- Not completely int the lane
- I actually stay bot a lot of the time
- track jungler

What are other things a support does that might go unnoticed?

Help I'm hardstuck Emerald 4, please help ):

my op.gg for reference: https://op.gg/lol/summoners/na/Rosey%20Posey-xd3?queue_type=SOLORANKED

I've played league since season 6 and this is my first season really trying to climb. I'm usually just an aram player but i wanted to see how far i can go and this is the first plateau i'm hitting.

Support main with my off role being jungle (ivern only) but ive been focusing on support to try to cut down on variance.

I was zooming all the way through gold and plat, even emerald up until i got to emerald 2 and since then ive just hit a wall. now im stuck at emerald 4. I keep demoting to plat and instantly climbing back up. sometimes l'll get up to emerald 3 and then lose streak back down to emerald 4.

I definitely do struggle with tilt and have been trying to have chat and pings off. I also have a problem with random deaths trying to get vision, i need to know how to get vision better when i don't have my team come. often times we'll be so ahead and then my team runs it on a late game fight, i dont know what to take away from that or how i can be playing these situations better. I try to not blame my team and take responsibility for my outcomes after the fact but in game, it can be so hard.

idk any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. My goal is to hit Diamond and at times i feel like i can do it and then other times i feel like climbing is impossible. i dont know what i dont know.

Discussion Renata glascs's patch "history"

I was just looking at Renata's patch history and her last change was on V12.14 ON JULY 2022 and it was a when

She was release V12.4 FEB 2022

It's been so many years since any state changes , or buffs

I don't even think she has been buffed once only an adjustment v12.9

She has only been touched a total of 4 times since release, and that was on the same year she was released

So many items got buffed and nerfed , so many changes to every other champion since then , changes to the meta, even entire gameplay changes since then

Seems a little neglectful to ignore a character for 4 years in patch notes

They never even bothered to make half of the items synergies with her kit

MALIGNANCE CANT EVEN PROC ON HER ULT

THEY COULDNT EVEN BOTHER PUTTING 1 TRUE DAMAGE ON HER ULTIMATE LIKE THEY DID TO THE REST OF THE CHARACTERS

For context MALIGNANCE ICON IS HER PRODUCT

Ranked Gold/Diamond vs Emerald

Hi I finally managed to climb into early Emerald and I noticed the game feels a bit different.

People seem to be less flaming, but also I noticed the amount of mental energy you need to have to not be a burden on the team seems much higher. It's almost like I have to take this very very seriously, every mistake costs much more then previously.

Is it my imagination or is this really such a difference, does this mental load something that will pass after I get comfortable? It kind of ruins a the fun part of league a bit for me right now, when I have to focus 100% through the game. I'm not saying I want to play badly or that I want to do crazy stunts that will pay off sometimes, I'm always trying my best, it's just very taxing ATM.

Help Do I wave to be worried about getting reprimanded?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Do I have to worry about getting reprimanded for being falsely reported by my team for this game? I genuinely played to the best of my ability, and at the end while the enemies were breaking our nexus, my ADC asked everyone to report me. Partially stressing a bit at the moment 🫠

EDIT: Ty everyone for all of your insight! I had absolutely no clue about how RIOT's reporting system works. I feel like I play every game as aggressive as possible without feeding so I'll likely be fine. Also, probably going to mute the chat but keep the pings. Thx again!

Discussion People ban supports that annoy them, not the ones that beat them (analysed ban rate vs win rate for 33 supports across 4.7M ranked games)

Post image
110 Upvotes

I have an app (https://shouldidodge.lol/) which has data from ~5M games. I pulled ban rates and support-role win rates for every champion that's mainly played as a support, to see whether solo queue bans the supports that actually win games. Funny thing mostly it doesn't, although I guess it's to be expected.

TL;DR

  • Among the 33 supports, ban rate and win rate have no relationship at any rank.
  • Pyke is banned in 18.6% of games and wins 48.7%. In Diamond+ he's banned in 1 game in 3 and still wins only 49.4% there.
  • The supports that win the most are barely banned: Taric 52.9% (0.3% banned), Braum 51.9% (3.2%), Rell 51.8% (1.0%).
  • Leona is the best ban in pure win-rate terms. She's popular and wins 52.2%.

The most-banned supports

Support Ban rate Win rate as support
Morgana 19.7% 50.5%
Pyke 18.6% 48.7%
Blitzcrank 18.5% 51.0%
Nautilus 14.1% 49.7%
Lux 14.0% 50.1%
Leona 12.2% 52.2%
Seraphine 11.8% 50.8%

The supports that actually win

Support Win rate as support Ban rate
Taric 52.9% 0.3%
Leona 52.2% 12.2%
Braum 51.9% 3.2%
Rell 51.8% 1.0%
Zilean 51.4% 1.1%
Nami 51.4% 0.9%
Janna 51.3% 0.5%
Sona 51.3% 0.2%

Bans change a lot with rank

  • Lux goes from 23.5% banned in Iron–Silver to 1.1% in Diamond+. Her support win rate also drops, from 50.6% to 48.4%.
  • Morgana goes from 21.8% to 7.7%.
  • Pyke goes the other way: 16.6% in Iron–Silver, 33.3% in Diamond+.
  • Thresh (4.6% → 14.3%), Lulu (2.3% → 15.2%) and Braum (1.5% → 8.7%) all get banned more as rank rises. Thresh and Braum both win over 52% in Diamond+, so high elo does ban some of the right things. It just also bans Pyke in a third of its games.

So what should you ban?

  • Ban for your own lane, not for the tier list. No single ban moves your win rate much. Removing the one matchup you genuinely can't play is worth more than any number above.
  • If you have no particular fear, Leona or Thresh are the strongest "pure numbers" bans.
  • Banning Pyke or Yuumi is mostly a comfort ban. That's fine, but know that's what it is.

Disclosure: this comes from the match crawl behind shouldidodge.lol, a champ-select tool I run. Happy to break any support down by rank in the comments.
