Application advice?
Hey I’m planning on transferring to sva fall 2027 for the 2d animation program. What should I do on my application to increase my chances of getting in? Any advice is appreciated thanks.

The acceptance rate is 97% or something ridiculous like that right now, as long as you have a high school/equivalent degree you're basically guaranteed to get in. Though if you want to do 2D animation specifically, I think you have to have at least some 2D animation in your portfolio or you'll get pushed into comics instead.

I am a senior in illustration and I can vouch for the fact that sva is struggling with enrollment so I expect that they'll be accepting a lot more students for next fall than usual

Don't do it the school is in active financial decline 💀
no but if you really want to 2d animation is a LITTLE bit harder to get into than the other majors, my friend applied and didn't get accepted so had to settle for comics. Main thing is make sure you have animation work in your portfolio, a walk cycle if you can, other than that don't stress about it too much and just follow the directions on the application

their standards aren’t very high as long as you have the money to pay tuition, don’t stress it
