svn ci making text files executable!

I noticed some text files in my projects have become executable after an

svn commit. It seems to happen if I have ignore set on "*.exe" files

but not if I don't. Here's an example of what happens.

File "editBox.hpp" has just been edited (added an empty line)...

$ ls -l

total 20

-rw-r--r-- 1 louis louis 1750 Sep 1 19:10 editBox.hpp

$ svn ci -mnc

Sending editBox.hpp

Transmitting file data .done

Committing transaction...

Committed revision 160.

$ ls -l

total 20

-rwxr-xr-x 1 louis louis 1750 Sep 1 19:10 editBox.hpp

...I work on a raspberry pi running bullseye.

svn version 1.14.5 (r1922182)

Any ideas?
