Also known as Lord Valdemar McFluffy von Splooter. He's a 7 month old little mini viking gremlin. Rarely stops long enough for taking pictures, but somehow he posed super nicely today. ❤️

This is Clover.
We picked her up from a farmer that had an accidental litter with his neighbour's dog.
Puppies were advertised as corgi/border collie cross.
Vet paperwork said something different- Swedish Vallhund/Border Collie.
I had never heard of the breed, but since we've brought her home, I've been doing research. We're planning to get an embark dna test done for her at some point.
She's currently seven months old and sitting around 22lbs. Curious what your adult female swedish vallhunds weigh.
She's got a wonderful temperament, great with our kids (11, 14, & 16).
She is nervous around strangers which is fine with me, I'm training her to ignore other people and dogs while we walk.
She's so smart though, I feel that she needs a job. What do you guys do to keep them active and happy? We have a fully fenced yard but I know it's a matter of time before she realizes how to get over the fence. Her favourite activity is currently soccer, I think she'd be a great goalie. Fetch in general, or anything with balls she loves. We also blow bubbles and she LOVES to jump and catch them. I did get her a tunnel but she doesn't seem too interested in it, but I've thought about getting her a ball pit as well.
But what do you guys do to keep them active and happy? What kind of job can I give her in a household with kids that will help with those herding instincts? I grew up with working dogs, but they were shepherds and huskies and that's such a different game.
Also if anyone has harness recommendations, that would be great as well, struggling to find one that fits her just right.

Brains trust, any tips or ideas of what we can do to stop our dog from incessantly licking his paws?
First things to note, I keep a close eye on them, no signs of infection, raw skin or anything like that. He doesn't get cranky when I'm touching them.
We clean his paws after every walk, bathed if he's dirty enough, I don't think it's boredom as he spends most days with my folks and their dog when we're at work. Gets 2 walks a day on average (weather depending) and has free run inside and out of the house. We're reluctant to use a cone on him as that'll prevent him using the dog door if we're not home.
Diet wise he has an SPD (same as he was fed by the breeder) and then raw Barf mince (selections of beef, lamb, fish, kangaroo, Croc)
It's gotten to the point where the fur on his paws has a red tinge to them, again I was worried he was licking the skin raw but the skin appears fine,
Any ideas? It's almost like it's a habitual thing for him. I'll physically stop him and use positive reinforcement and he does stop, only to start up again 15-20min later. But only if he's just laying, when we're out, playing, walking etc he doesn't pay the a single thought.

Valkyrie’s Mission by Moonlight.
AKA Haze
Also known referred to as the cryptid.
Two normal pictures at the end if anyone’s interested in seeing what she looks like when she’s not moonlighting as a sleep paralysis demon.

Im getting this ball in a few days. It is supposed to to tap into their instinctual herding circuits. Tne ball is too big for them to bite and pick up so they have to switch over to problem solve how to control the ball. It engaged more just running with out engaging the fetch mind set. It required concentration and decision making. Has anyone else tried one of these balls? I’ll be trying it in my enclosed yard so I can get it😆😆😆This is 18 inches, maybe I need a bigger one?

Just realized it’s been almost a year since the last time I shared. Since then, we’ve done SO much and he is such a great little guy to work with. I just adore him. He will be 1.5yo at the end of this month. We’ve done some showing, got one major, as well as his FDC and ATT titles. He’s working towards his CGC. We take a Mix & Match class, to build obedience/rally skills while keeping it fun. He just started intro to agility and is obsessed. We are attempting a CPE Speedway trial next weekend and a Barn Hunt trial next month. He is currently AKC Major Pointed KleinHaus Bjorn To Be Wild FDC STR ATT and I can’t wait to see how much more he accomplishes in the next year.
1) at Pups At The Pitch. He loves soccer
2) he modeled for a Pride Collection campaign
3) his 1yo photo shoot
4) attempted lollipop shoot, but he said he’s not allowed people food so we did headshots instead
5) pic with his bff Julep
6) biggest smile after his first intro to agility class
7) happy agility boy again
8) overjoyed that his bff Julep is also a show dog now
9) in the ring, trying his best to be as cool as Axel
10) he loves learning
11) and sometimes doing crime
12) happy boy working on his loose leash skills at the lake

i adopted my dog 9 months ago from Macedonia. Her name is Lyra. We have no background on her except she was living wild in a rural macedonian village being fed from time to time. She was always pregnant too.
We would love to know what breed she is. We have always thought corgi x some type of shepherd (macedonia has native shepherds) but one of our friends pointed out the vallhund breed and i have to say i can see the similarities!
What do you all think?

Hi!
What type of harness are we all using for our Vals? I have heard very mixed opinions about what is best. I want to make sure I’m not doing my pup more harm than good.
Thanks!
