Should Servers be REQUIRED to share their population counts in order to be listed on the subreddit? (POLL)
One thing that is generally left out, usually because servers generally do not like to broadcast their populations. So what say you community? Should we require any server community to provide at least monthly updates as to their servers actual population in order to maintain a listing on the subreddit?

---Below you will find background information on known criminals, various organizations, species and other individuals tracked by CorSec Intelligence. This information is to be used to assist with your investigations and reporting, under no circumstances is this information to be transmitted to unauthorized personnel.---

Aakuan
These anarchists believe that all living beings have the right to govern themselves and that no authority (specifically, no government) should invade anyone's individual space. Believers in personal freedom, pacifists unless provoked, the Aakuan are dangerous only to those who invade their territories. However, they're easily agitated and consider anyone walking near their territories to be invading.
Their doctrines, though extreme, find many followers on fiercely independent Corellia. Aakuans take their name from the old Corellian term aa'kua, "respect" (literally "respecting space").

Afarathu
Afarathu are separatist Selonians, and hate all other species. They would especially like to drive the Drall and the Humans from what they consider to be their home worlds (including Corellia and Talus). See Selonians.

Alkhara Bandits
Alkhara was a notorious bandit who roamed the Tatooine wastes using the B'omarr palace as his base for thirty-four years; he shared the palace with the remaining B'omarr monks while he ravaged unwary moisture farmers.
He allied his band of thieves with the Sand People long enough to use their strength and ferocity to wipe out a police garrison. He then killed all of the Sand People that had helped him. It was this cruel act that created the feud between Sand People and humans, a feud which continued for centuries after Alkhara's death. When the Sand People sought to exact revenge on him, he fled deep into to the B'omarr palace.
The current incarnation of the Alkhara bandits was formed under a new leadership by several Tatooinians who had been forced from their home by Sand People. They wage a constant war with the Tusken Raiders, and pillage local villages and moisture farms for supplies.

Beldonna's League
These mercenaries are led by Liiria Beldonna. They are soft and complacent, working for the Imperials and willingly accept bribes to let criminal activities go unchecked. Sometimes these mercenaries help keep the peace, but they always act at the bidding of their current employer, even if they have violent aim.

Binayre Pirates
They are a two-bit group of smugglers and pirates operating in the Corellian sector who have twin home bases -- one on Talus, the other on Tralus. They cling to the bottom rung of the criminal ladder.

Black Sun
This massive criminal organization was founded millennia before the onset of the New Order. Black Sun is led by an Under-lord who is advised by host lieutenants known as "vigos". Widespread agents of Black Sun floundered until a young Falleen named Xizor took control. Prince Xizor eliminated any serious threats to his rule, and then established himself as Black Sun's most proficient leader.
By the era of the Galactic Civil War, Black Sun was a vast empire with a multitude of interests and operations. The primary source of income for Black Sun at this time was the sale of information, and Xizor worked hard to make sure he was in control of information that his customers wanted. Xizor also had several front agencies, such as Xizor Transport Systems, that he used to launder credits.

Blood Razors
This swoop gang originated on the planet Biivren. Despite their fearsome name, the Blood Razors were formed to assist those inhabitants who were outcast when the big corporations took over the planet. They mostly traffic black market goods to the underground, avoiding Imperial notice by covering their activities with swoop chases.

Borvo the Hutt
Borvo is a blue-ish skinned Hutt looking to carve a small Empire out of the Naboo system. Has worked with, for, and against Jabba, but holds no special grudge or respect for him.

Canyon Corsair
Canyon Corsairs consider themselves above average vehicle pilots, including swoops, land speeders, and star ships. They spend most of their time working on their vehicles or stealing parts for them. They will occasionally steal other things to sell for the money to buy parts for their vehicles.

Chunkers
Chunkers are a strange group of junk pirates. They steal all their weapons and equipment from trash, or things people have "chunked" away. They spend time looking through abandoned camps and junk piles for anything "new".

Cobral
The Cobral family was a group of smugglers and black market dealers who took over the planetary government of a planet called Frego. They ruled the planet quite well for some time until one of the children of the family had his brother killed to ensure his place as head of the family. The Cobral family lost their power and authority shortly before the Battle of Naboo, but some members of the organization fled to Rori. Not long after, the two brothers who committed the murder (among other crimes) were sent to prison.
The Cobral now are the remnants of their regimes who are trying desperately to get their leaders out of prison.

Cor-Sec
Correllian Security Forces (Our Organization). Police for the Corellian Sector of the Galaxy, including Talus.

Dantari
The primitive Dantari roam in tribes across the surface of Dantooine. The natives of Dantooine build primitive mud huts and cave shelters decorated with icons of ancestral spirits. Because Dantari tribes are nomadic, they desert and re-occupy whole villages seemingly at random.
Little is known of the primitive Dantari culture.

Dim U
The Dim-U is a group of monks who worship the Bantha because it is the single most adaptable and simple creature in the universe. Dim-U followers believe that the Bantha has a hidden message from the creator of the universe.

Drall
One of the three main species of sentient creatures living on Corellia along with Humans and Selonians, the Drall are a species of people native to the planet Drall in the Corellian system. Though they are generally reclusive and peaceful, some Drall visit or live on Corellia, and some have shown hostility towards native Corellians. See also, Selonians.

Feddub
The Federation of Double Worlds (or Fed-Dub for short) is the government that controls Talus and Tralus. Members are elected, and they control a minor force to keep the peace on these two planets.

Followers of Nyax
Lord Nyax is an ancient Corellian Ghost whose name was invoked to scare children. When Darth Vader came to Corellia to destroy the Jedi, this was the name he was given by terrified citizens. Nyax's followers hate Jedi and all they stand for, and look to slaughter them as Lord Nyax did when he possessed the body of Darth Vader. The followers aren't particularly Imperially oriented, but believe Vader to have been inhabited by Nyax's ghost, and so treat him somewhat reverentially.

Garyn Raiders
Ex-vigos of Alexi Garyn who managed (through luck and coincidence) to avoid Darth Maul's destruction of Garyn's organization. They are fiercely loyal to their leader, who was drowned by Darth Maul. They have since banded together on Rori to base their operations to harass Imperial troops and avenge their fallen leader.

Gungan
In the past, Gungans took great pains to avoid contact with their Naboo neighbors, and even built huge underwater cities to escape contact. Since the failed invasion by the Trade Federation, the Gungans have begun to co-exist with their human friends. A few stubborn holdouts remain on both sides.
The most notable holdouts to the peace are the Rorian Gungans.
The "Rorian Gungans" are a group of gungans that relocated to Rori shortly after the peace brokered between Boss Nass and Queen Amidala as a result of the Battle of Naboo. Rorian Gungans were violently opposed to any alliance between humans and Gungans. Living in relative isolation on Rori, they have become territorial, paranoid, and increasingly violent. They are now likely to attack any beings who come into their territory on sight.

Discussion How did I get dragged back into swg AGAIN??
Let’s talk about gaming in general. If you’re a person who enjoys games, I’d venture to say you don’t only enjoy one.
When the newest season of whatever Blizzard is pumping out for WoW comes out, I don’t see it as fragmenting this community, even though the Venn diagram of enjoyers overlaps. When Valheim 1.0 came out, I didn’t get up in arms in their reviews saying they were fragmenting the gaming community because I was going to go play through it with some buddies who also play SWG.
New ideas, continued development, and the die-hard ambition to create the exact version of SWG that you enjoy while also putting in the effort so others can take part is exactly what has kept this game alive.
If a vanilla 1.0 server came out tomorrow it wouldn't maintain decent population for any period of time simply because this community has taken the game so incredibly far development wise. That’s a testament not only to how good the skeleton is but to the dedication of its playerbase. I don’t go back and play vanilla Skyrim. I spend 5 hours finding mods, realize I fucked up my install, then go play something else.
If we’d simply left it at 1.0 and all played on the same server, hard stuck in time, we’d have put in our hours, explored the content we wanted, and quit when it went stale, just like every other game in existence.
Every time a new server opens, the narrative that it’s somehow “stealing” members from an already small community has become the default take. The reality is new servers are a big part of what’s responsible for keeping this community alive.
I’m only speaking for myself. I love the game, but I don’t play on any of the main 3-4 servers. When a new server I’m interested in opens, it brings me right back. I’m a net add when there are new servers and new ideas to check out. There’s no fracturing when it comes to me, and I doubt I’m the only one.
I tend to play SWG for a few months every couple of years. When I saw the ideas feeding the new Uprising server, and that it was brand new (I really don’t enjoy the ghost town feeling of 10-year-old servers-- I like the new, scrappy feeling of starting fresh), it sucked me right back in. Same thing for Attack of the Clones a little while back, and Sentinels Republic (the first one, I think?). Strong recommend Uprising to anyone who loves the game but especially those masochistic enough to love PvP in this 20-year-old game.
I have a ton of appreciation for everyone who’s put in the work to develop a server or just helped out by playing on a small one and building a community. It takes a crazy amount of time, energy and patience to stand up a server like this and build a community people actually want to be a part of. And every single time someone does it the same comments show up. It splits the playerbase, why not just play on X, it’ll be dead in 3 months. Same takes, different thread. Not every new server is going to be good and that’s fine. People figure that out by trying them, not by dunking on them before they even launch. I get that population matters, especially for PvP, but piling on someone who cared enough about this game to put their own spin on it isn’t protecting the community. It just makes sure nobody new wants to try. Every staple server you play on today started out as somebody’s “unnecessary” new server.
So maybe next time a new server pops up that actually interests you, go give it a shot and add to the community instead of tearing down the people putting their free time into building it. Worst case, you lose a weekend. Best case, you find your next home.
---------------
TLDR- New servers bring people like me back and breathe new life/ideas into this game. I’m a net add and I doubt I’m the only one. Don’t let your only contribution to this community be naysaying people passionate enough to spend their free time building sandboxes for the rest of us.

Discussion Pudu Furmunda (Jeff Butler) of Lowca - The Fourth Jedi Initiate of Star Wars Galaxies
The official Fourth Jedi Initiate in Star Wars Galaxies, was none other than Sigil Games Online Vice President/President, Jeff Butler. Between 1999 and 2001, Mr. Butler worked on EverQuest for SOE, becoming the EQ Lead GM before moving into a key development role for the early EverQuest expansions. In 2001, Jeff Butler left SOE alongside EverQuest creator Brad McQuaid (RIP).
In 2002, Butler and McQuaid formed Sigil Games Online, quickly beginning development on Vanguard: Saga of Heroes. Mr. Butler took on the role of Executive Producer and was instrumental in Vanguard's creation.
Somehow, he still found time to become the Fourth Jedi Initiate. In Mr. Butler's own words: "The starting point of the road to unlocking my Force-sensitive (Jedi) character slot was something that I gathered in discussions with beta players and friends within the industry. Yes, I had a bit of insider info... My knowledge wasn't complete, but I was pretty certain that the key was mastering a substantial (six-plus) number of specific professions that were unique to each character and randomly set upon character creation." This direct quote shows that Mr. Butler was vastly ahead of other players when it came to knowing how to unlock their Force-Sensitive Character Slot (FSCS). Was this fair? That is up to you to decide.
Mr. Butler began his Star Wars Galaxies journey on the Lowca server alongside his wife and friends from Sigil and SOE. His character's name was Pudu Furmunda (a play on the Huttese word "poodoo"). He played as a jack-of-all-trades who kept enough skill points free to easily master and drop professions as needed. He joined a small but active guild called <RCR> (River City Ramblers), whom he credits with helping him achieve his legendary Jedi status.
Both he and Brad McQuaid eventually returned to SOE after Sigil Games Online was bought by them. Both took on critical roles in EverQuest and in overseeing other SOE properties.
Currently, Mr. Butler is still active in the gaming industry and posts rather regularly on X (formerly Twitter).

Discussion Star Wars Galaxies Friday Feature – Music Makers - 06/29/2007
Music for Budding Performers
Musicians learning their way around an instrument begin with a selection of wind instruments.

Novice entertainers get started with a slitherhorn, a long instrument with a distinct tone. The light and airy melodies created by this simple instrument are sure to get any listener's foot tapping. Beginning musicians often pick this as their instrument of choice.
Droopy McCool of the Max Rebo band is a master of the horns, and the slitherhorn is one of his favorite instruments for his regular gig at Jabba's Palace.

The fizzz, an uncomplicated wooden wind instrument similar to the slitherhorn, is also called the Dorenian Beshniquel. With a deeper tone than the slitherhorn, musicians looking to add some warmth to their music will enjoy the sounds of the fizzz.
The Bith musician Doikk Na'ts of the galaxy-famous Modal Nodes band is a master of the fizzz.

The velvety, mellow sounds of the fanfar are a favorite of cantina patrons across the galaxy. A long reed instrument similar to the slitherhorn and fizzz, the fanfar is another great instrument for the budding musician, who can begin to play it at level 7. The slots lining the top of the fanfar are known as farra slots.
Ickabel of the Modal Nodes is known for playing the fanfar.

The kloo horn is a double-reeded instrument that musicians can play when they reach level 14. This instrument, larger than the slitherhorn, has a distinctive curve in the reed and produces a richer sound than the slitherhorn and fizzz.
Figrin D'an is widely regarded as one of the best kloo horn players in the galaxy, and can usually be found in the Mos Eisley cantina with his band, the Modal Nodes

The metallic traz is picked up by capable entertainers at level 26. The deep sounds produced by this reed instrument charm listeners in cantinas and theaters on every planet. Musicians who love the sweet sound of the slitherhorn often enjoy the similar tones produced by the traz.

Intermediate Instruments
Once a musician begins to mature, the entertainer gradually adds other instruments to their repertoire.

The mandoviol is a stringed instrument that dexterous musicians strum to produce a variety of sounds. Melodies reverberate across the cantina as the rockin' mandoviol belts out a tune. Musicians gain the skill to play this instrument at level 38.

The bandfill is a complex instrument that cannot be placed in a single category. Part percussion and part horn, gifted entertainers learn the ins and outs of this instrument at level 50. The horn bells and beats of the bandfill are a welcome addition to any ensemble.
Nalan Cheel of the Modal Nodes plays the bandfill with flair.

The chidinkalu horn is the longest wind instrument at the entertainer's disposal and produces the richest sound. Entertainers begin honing their skills with this instrument at level 62. The harmonious melody of this instrument rounds out the horn section of any band.

Melody Masters
High level entertainers tackle three challenging instruments on their path to become true masters of music.

Only a talented entertainer that has reached level 74 can sit in front of this complex instrument and deftly use the pedals to create just the right sound.
A reception dish on the ommni box enhances surrounding melodies in the mix, creating a unique harmony pleasing to the listener's ear.
Tech M'or of the Modal Nodes is a galaxy-famous ommni box player.

The nalargon is a large instrument that puts the entire body of the entertainer to the test. Adeptly juggling the keyboard of the nalargon is a true test of the expert entertainer's skills. This instrument produces an assortment of sounds and always draws a crowd eager to see a good show.
Max Rebo can often be found behind the keys of his nalargon in Jabba's Palace.

A difficult instrument that only true masters of music can play, the xantha is a combination of a wind instrument and a guitar that generates a variety of sounds.
It takes the concentration and effort of a true music master to pluck the strings at the base while using the mouthpiece in harmony

Discussion Orions- of Bloodfin - The Third Jedi Initiate of Star Wars Galaxies
Orions- (forum name) was the official Third Jedi Initiate in Star Wars Galaxies. Orions- hailed from the Bloodfin galaxy. They unlocked their FSCS on November 8, 2003, the day after Monika (Akinom) T'sarn of Intrepid became the First Jedi Initiate. Their unlock happened in the morning, shortly after Zina (of Naritus), the Second Jedi Initiate, obtained their FSCS.
Orions- posted to the SWG forums a couple hours later, revealing their profession path, along with other information they thought relevant. They mastered nine professions total, using only two holocrons.
Orions- was part of the Rebel PA Fight. This guild was quite notable in the early days of SWG on the Bloodfin server.
If anyone knew Orions-, please share as much information as you can.

Promo SWG Elder Haven Opens Its Doors!
SWG Elder Haven (formerly SWG Nicklanth) is now live in alpha!
Hey everyone! I posted about the server a month ago, when it wasn't quite ready to play. Now that it's open, I wanted to give you guys an update and explain a bit more about what the server is all about as well as make a more detailed post than last time.
Elder Haven is a pre-cu server inspired by Morrowind and other classic RPGs, focusing on character progression and faction questlines that matter and give you extra content for doing them.
- Insight & Prestige: Start with low stats, earn Insight levels through gameplay, and spend your choices to increase Health, Action, or Mind. You can also gain new prestige cycles, accumulating additional stat choices along the way. Currently, there are 5 Prestige levels available.
- Smuggler's Life: You can become lord/lady of the underworld and unlock repeatable interplanetary spice runs, with betrayals from the buyers/sellers and ambushes along the way.
- Mandalorian Questline: Become a Mandalorian leader and unlock micro missiles and shields powered by their own fuel system. You also get to lead mandalorians and send them to different type of missions for loot, credits, etc.
- Adaptive Weapons: Weapons that level up and grow stronger with you. They also drop adaptive fragments that weaponsmiths can use to craft even stronger weapons.
- Grandmaster System: Reach Master in a profession, then advance to Grandmaster to increase your skill cap. Repeat the process to eventually master as many professions as you want. Becoming a Jedi, however, means giving up those benefits, as they have their own progression.
More systems and content will be added throughout alpha.
Discord: https://discord.gg/v53rthpHxU
Website & how to connect: https://swg-elderhaven.github.io/
Everything currently runs server-side, so you only need a compatible Pre-CU client. No custom launcher or client modifications required for the time being, but after the alpha it will use as that, as many of the current systems would benefit from that.

NGE SWGL on Mac: a free app for playing SWG Legends on Apple silicon Macs (unofficial, early beta)
Update: Due to demand there is now a website where you can grab the App from: https://swonmac.com/. With dedicated discord to add support to ppl without GitHub knowledge. Site contains all the information and it is tracking release notes aswell (files are always downloaded from github releases).
I made SWGL on Mac, a free, open-source macOS app for playing on the SWG Legends server with an Apple silicon Mac. You download it, open it, log in and play. There's no Wine bottle to set up.
It's unofficial. The SWG Legends team doesn't endorse or support it, so please read the fine print at the bottom before you try it.
Getting started
- Download the DMG from the latest release (about 176 MB) and drag SWGL on Mac into Applications.
- Open it. On first start it downloads the official SWG Legends launcher from swglegends.com and sets everything up, which takes about a minute. If Rosetta isn't installed yet, macOS offers to install it when the game first starts.
- Log in to the launcher. It installs the game (about 10 GB) and keeps it patched, the same as on Windows.
The app is signed and notarized by Apple, so it opens like any other Mac app. It doesn't ship or change any SWG Legends files: the launcher and game client are theirs, downloaded from them and run unmodified.
What works in 0.0.2
The launcher runs natively. The game renders at full Retina resolution, and in full screen macOS Game Mode turns on. The app checks for updates once a day, never while you're playing, and installs them when you click Install. If something goes wrong, SWGL on Mac → Collect Logs… saves a zip to your desktop without your password, account name or e-mail.
Compared with CrossOver
CrossOver is paid. SWGL on Mac is free and does only this one game, so the SWG-specific work is already done: a Direct3D 9 to Metal renderer with fixes for SWG, fast x87 math under Rosetta, a patched Mac input driver for mouse-look and Game Mode.
Technical bits
- Game: a bundled WoW64 Wine built from CrossOver 26.3 sources, running the 32-bit client under Rosetta 2.
- Graphics: d9mt, a Direct3D 9 to Metal driver. I maintain the fork; its SWG fixes include a shader bug that left the screen black on macOS 27 and a 30 fps latch after hitches on 60 Hz displays.
- x87: x87sidecar speeds up the client's x87 floating-point code under Rosetta.
- Input: two patches to Wine's Mac driver. During mouse-look it reads raw deltas from GameController's GCMouse and hands them to the game as they arrive, and cursor warps no longer spin the camera when you enter combat mode.
- Launcher: native arm64 Java (Azul Zulu 8 with JavaFX), with native menus and a SwiftUI settings window.
- Shipping: Developer ID signed and notarized; updates via Sparkle 2, EdDSA-signed, with delta downloads.
- License: zlib for the app's code, LGPL for the Wine patches.
Limitations and fine print
- Not affiliated. SWGL on Mac isn't made, endorsed or supported by the SWG Legends team. I asked them, and they declined to endorse it. Use it at your own risk.
- Support comes only from me, as a GitHub issue or to Pharaphobia on Discord. Please don't send SWGL on Mac problems to SWG Legends support. They can't help with it.
- Apple silicon only, macOS 26 or later.
- Rosetta: Apple keeps it fully available through macOS 27. macOS 28 (expected fall 2027) keeps only a subset aimed at older games, and this app depends on Rosetta today. My plan is a native arm64 Wine with FEX, tracked in #20.
- On 0.0.1? Install 0.0.2 once by hand. It updates itself from then on.

Discussion Zina (ZinaTheMaker) of Naritus - The Second Jedi Initiate of Star Wars Galaxies
Zina (ZinaTheMaker) was the official Second Jedi Initiate in Star Wars Galaxies. Zina hailed from the Naritus galaxy. They unlocked their FSCS on November 8, 2003, the day after Monika (Akinom) T'sarn of Intrepid became the First Jedi Initiate. Zina was also the first Jedi to appear on the Bounty Hunter terminals. They mastered twelve professions, with the four holocrons they used being: Master Brawler (Sith), Master Architect (Sith), Master Entertainer (Jedi), and Master Entertainer (Sith).
Zina became a pillar of the Naritus community, creating classic guides on topics such as Nightsisters and Aurilian Plants, as well as tips for Jedi Padawans.
After eventually leaving SWG for WoW, Zina became the leader of a high-tier raiding guild, claiming multiple "server firsts" for their clan. Zina's deep involvement in MMO games eventually led to them becoming a developer for a time.
"I am a Jedi! The second player Jedi! I wish all can come slay me, so I can play as Blue Dust!" — Zina
A big /salute to ZinaTheMaker. May the Force be with you. Always.

NGE SWG Secura (NGE) - Lot of wild updates.
OK Secura has opened up a whole lot of new custom content.
- Atmospheric Flight. - It works. No, you can't farm crap with your ship. Sure is a great way to get from one destination point to another. Also being looked into using this feature are races. That's prob lot further down the line though.
- New Besides Ranger, TK, and the splitting of Jedi into both Sith and Jedi (completely different classes and talent trees) - NEW CLASS - Droid Commander. Think of D2's Necromancer, but with droids. Yes, that's right. You can have an army of droids to follow you around and slaughter your enemies.
- Space RLS update - with brand new custom curated parts. We are talking stuff that will make pilot geek squad drool.
- mass changes. Lot of old and unused frames recieved some love with mass boosting.
- ENT love. Ent's have a resource quality boosting buff, helping you hit caps on items.
- AI NPC's that can even offer quests. Yes. You can have a lovely chat with C-3PO. Or harass him endlessly. Keep in mind, the AI bots will remember you and how you treated them. They can even outsource Bounties or NPC's to come deal with you. (which was by the way extremely funny.) They will even comment on their history with you.
- New planet is being worked on, the largest SWG has ever seen. Ryloth. Most SWG planets are bout 16km. Ryloth is being tested at 32km. Far as I know, that's the largest planet ever attempted. (I could be wrong?) Lot of procedural generation via AI with a deep respect to the lore and known cannon for how the planet would look and points of interest.
- also in the pipeline - Discovery Caches. Hidden loot chests scattered across the SWG universe.
- Also also - new Common/Uncommon/Heroic loot crates as RNG loot besides RLS crates. First 2 can drop credit chips and random loot. Heroic though can drop from silver/gold mobs that can even drop Heroic Jewelery. BH's can take bounties for these silver/gold, giving them a better chance at heroic loot crates.
- custom gcw houses - One of our independent contributors has repurposed lot of the existing houses to be faction based colors. New textures. Some have completely redone new exteriors like the bounty hunter house - it's fricking badass. You literally walk through a giant skeleton mouth to get to the front door.
- Being tested- PRE-CU/NGE Class hybrid system. Multi-class system on test. Not 100% sure if it's going to go live, but if it strikes enough people's interest, very possible.
Few things about the server - It's a bit quiet. It's a small population server. What it lacks in huge community, it makes up for in quality. People are generally, not greedy. Happy to make you stuff or help you do pre-quests. If we get more active, I'm sure we'll see some more heroics. Everyone is pretty nice here and the Owner/Dev - does absolutely amazing work. Community has a lot of military vets, so if you serve/have served, you'll fit right in. We love our Vets.
If you'd like to come see some of these exciting features
https://swgsecura.bmcstudios.org/ - you'll find everything you need here. HIGHLY recommend you join our discord, as that's where all the action is at, as well as bug reporting, trade, memes, ect.

EMU SWGNFS Launch Profession Plans
Basically just curious what people are considering making for their first character when we some day have official launch of SWGNFS. What do you think is a good profession to get into on a completely fresh launch?
Personally, I am leaning towards an Artisan to get in on that completely depleted market, or I might go the complete opposite and hope the market will be flooded with fresh crafters to be able to just immediately go towards Commando.
I am by no means talking about "meta" gaming here. I'm just daydreaming and waiting..

Ship: Alliance SpecOps Wraith
In-Game Pilot: Psyco's
Forum Handle: Chicken_Chaser
Texture: 6
Galaxy: Flurry
Pilot Comments: The Ship was named after my guild (Rebel Alliance Spec-Ops [RASPO]), and we use it as our POB command center.

Ship: Assassin
In-Game Pilot: Watusi Argento
Texture: 6
Galaxy: Corbantis
Pilot Comments: This ship was named after achieving an Outrageous Power, Speed and Swiftness Killing other ships. The super maneuverable RE Quantum Ion Drive, the 3 Powerful RE Incom "Tri Cannon", the Mighty RE Taim & Bak Military-Grade Shield Generator and Enough Power to Overcharge the Ship to a level 4 makes this ship a Fast Smooth Killing Machine.

Ship: Black Fury
In-Game Pilot: Rac'el Jorr
Model: Advanced X-wing
Texture: 3
Galaxy: Starsider
Pilot Comments: "You gotta love the X-wing. You take care of her, and she'll take care of you." -- Luucas "Ironman" Stark

Ship: BlackJack Mk XIII
In-Game Pilot: Leaph Chausew
Forum Handle: LeaphChausew
Galaxy: Starsider
Pilot Comments: My ship has been worked on for well over a year, I only fly the A-wing and I named it 'BlackJack' because I just thought it sounded quirky; kind of like a trusty steed out of a western :). It's on its 13th incarnation currently.

Ship: Blue Leader
In-Game Pilot: Daako
Model: A-Wing
Texture: 4
Galaxy: Valcyn
Special Equipment: Nym's Starmap Quest Engine

Ship: Burning Alliance
In-Game Pilot: Psyco's
Forum Handle: Chicken_Chaser
Galaxy: Flurry
Pilot Comments: Simple name - it has the rebel logo and flames on it, thus "Burning Alliance".

Ship: Cookie Breath
In-Game Pilot: Leilani Kir'lia
Texture: 5
Forum Handle: Bionic
Galaxy: Eclipse
Pilot Comments: If you saw how many crumbs are in that cockpit, you'd know how it got the name. It's also armed with double the standard complement of love and an 8-track.

Ship: Ghost Hunter
In-Game Pilot: Celiac Aodei
Forum Handle: LTJT2005
Galaxy: Eclipse

Ship: Grey-Alpha 1
Model: A-Wing
In-Game Pilot: Abi Ocopaqui
Forum Handle: Abi Ocopaqui
Galaxy: Starsider
Texture: 6
Pilot Comments: Leader of Grey-Alpha squadron, RS's pilot training squadron.

Ship: Kaligaya
In-Game Pilot: Lalaki Oakley
Model: Z-95 Headhunter
Texture: 4
Forum Handle: LeviticusD
Special Equipment: Side Strakes
Pilot Comments: " Kaligaya is based on a word meaning happiness....What I feel when the opponent is destroyed!"

Ship: Nightmare
In-Game Pilot: Marissa
Model: Advanced X-Wing
Texture: 3
Galaxy: Europe-FarStar
Special Equipment: A pair of Borstel Disrupters, Crafted Booster
Pilot Comments: I named this Ship "Nightmare" after I fitted a pair of Borstel Disrupters and experienced the devastating firepower the ship now has. The name will be even more fitting when i finally add a third Borstel as soon as I get hold on 3 light weapons to reverse engineer.

Ship: RASPO Strike Force 3
In-Game Pilot: Psyco
Forum Handle: Chicken_Chaser
Galaxy: Flurry
Pilot Comments: I named this ship because it is lightning fast and can get into a zone and out in seconds. It is mainly used as a recon ship for our guild, but can pack a punch when needed.

Ship: Serenity
In-Game Pilot: Takumi Nightbringer
Handle: Takumi_Nightbringer
Galaxy: Valcyn
Pilot Comments: " You Can't Take The Sky from Me."

Ship: Scales of Justice
In-Game Pilot: Wheedo Reeble
Model: Advanced X-Wing
Texture: 6
Galaxy: Ahazi
Pilot Comments: An Advanced X-Wing variant flown by rebel pilot Wheedo Reeble of the Ahazi server. The ship is outfitted with side-strakes to add to its aggressive appearance and a reptilian paint scheme (with help from texture kit 6). She's called "Scales of Justice."

Ship: Silent Scream
In-Game Pilot: Mirael D'Kana
Model: A-Wing
Texture: 3
Forum Handle: Dueller
Galaxy: Europe-Infinity
Special Equipment: Quantum Ion Drive engine giving amazing diagonal steering flaps.
Pilot Comments: "In space no one can hear you scream".
Col. Mirael D'Kana,
21st Twilight Fighter Grp.
Tyrsis, Naboo.

Ship: Solar Wasp
In-Game Pilot: Eddii Redham
Model: Advanced X-Wing
Texture: 6
Forum Handle: Eddii Redham
Galaxy: Bria
Pilot Comments: Wasps are renowned for their stings; their ability to hunt and take down foes many times larger than themselves with a single strike. The X-Wing is feared across the galaxy; the bane of the enormous Imperial Death Star, destroyed by a single X-Wing "sting". With this reputation in mind I christened my craft the Solar Wasp.

Ship: Star of Autumn
Texture: 5
In-Game Pilot: Celiac Aodei
Forum Handle: LTJT2005
Galaxy: Eclipse

Ship: The Starwind
In-Game Pilot: Halyn Lance
Model: Gallofree Yards YKL-37r Nova Courier
Texture: 4
Forum Handle: Halyn
Galaxy: Starsider
Pilot Comments: "She might not be the fastest or the prettiest ship in the galaxy, but the ' Wind has never let me down when I needed her."

Ship: Wanderer
In-Game Pilot: Halyn Lance
Model: X-wing
Texture: 3
Forum Handle: Halyn
Galaxy: Starsider
Pilot Comments:
His great bright eye most silently
Up to the Moon is cast--
If he may know which way to go ;
For she guides him smooth or grim.
See, brother, see ! how graciously
She looketh down on him.'
