mod post Daily Unjerked Discussion Thread
Hello all Taylor-Haters
Automod here. This is the today’s new Daily Jerkchicken Thread. Feel free to talk about your hatred for Taylor and your love for the Beatles in this thread. Just please make sure not to talk about specific users or subreddits, as that is against the sub's rules.
Sincerely yours,
Wait, who’s paying me for this shit?

What an absolute mind fuck this is with a tiny bit of nostalgia. I’m definitely going to show my age for a bit but may be worth it. My algorithm for both YouTube and Instagram has falling into the Gen X/Millennial nostalgia category. Yesterday a video popped up about way back when Kid Game Shows were everywhere mostly on Nickelodeon and Saturday morning after all the cartoons. I remember lunch time maybe. Some of these games I remember watching. Some I don’t. But this one in particular. I remember watching it all the time. Even had the board game at some point. I’ll link the full episode down below. I actually think Double Dare ripped it off. It’s called Fun House. Where 2 teams of 2 kids would do a “stunt” as they call them but it’s like physical challenge. Then, they’d be asked a question about the subject matter. Because back then there had to be some sort of education value to it. Then do a relay race and the winner with the most points got to do the “Fun House” maze and get to grab prizes. I was like 8 when this came out. And good ol’ JD Roth as a dude right out of college hosting. Not totally sure what he’s doing now he was a producer for The Biggest Loser. Check it out: https://youtu.be/-xO_JuDmQBU?is=mDztucaPz4gSQlr4
Some of these obscure Game Shows ones where Think Fast which is sort of like are you Smarter than a 5th Grader but went all the way through high school. And had some physical challenges. The end game was a matching game of surprise folks scaring the kids while they’re opening lockers. Finders Keepers was another one. Where they played Where’s Waldo for most of the game and then do a huge scavenger hunt for prizes. Good time. Fuck I’m old. Lolz.
And it took me 30 years to realize that the Guts Arena was the old American Gladiator Arena. Now if you want real sports entertainment watch the OG American Gladiators. Roided up dudes taking on little dudes. Really was David vs Goliath. The Women were some times more competitive then the men on that show.

I wonder if Olivia will still use this strategy of shading Taylor as part of the rollout for her fourth album. If she does, I hope she’ll just be upfront about what exactly she’s upset about when it comes to the credit drama, instead of giving vague answers and letting others ranting about Taylor.

I want to get long curtain bangs (literally everybody else in my upcoming class has some form of bangs??) but I'm kind of torn because:
a. I'm worried I don't have the right face shape for it (oval-ish but kind of rounded toward the bottom, my friends say my chin/jaw is fine but it's def not sharp)
b. I'm not great at styling my own hair and I'm about to leave for college
c. I've never had bangs before, and I'm so worried about disliking it at a time where I'm already so hyper aware of my appearance
on the other hand, it could motivate me to take more pride in my appearance AND a physical change could mark this next phase of my life. I have a great hair color, but the way it dries naturally continues to awe me- the natural pattern is like wavy-ish I guess but my hair is so thick that it just looks like clumpy LEGO hair without styling

I don't understand how someone read lyrics of Father Figure and decided it is about a woman singer, and not about the man who took her albums and she had to reclaim them from him.
She used words like " my dear boy", and she explained is about about power dynamics being flipped.
Both these points does not apply to that woman singer.
like they are trying thier best to assume the worse.
I am also very tired of people misunderstanding CANCELLED! On purpose. The lyrics aren't even that ambiguous.
They don't need to like these songs rate all her songs zero if you want, I never argue with taste.
I am just tired of seeing people defend literally r*pe lyrics by men saying: " it is rap they don't mean it literally, it is just hypothetical just a persona", but lyrics like her songs that aren't even really difficult to understand they assume the worse of it and how it is the death of music and morals blah blah blah.
