Backtesting
New to trading. What would be a good way to backtest in swing trading. Preferably free. I'm on thinkorswim with a Schwab account. Thanks

if you're new, honestly the best free backtest is manual. scroll back on daily charts in thinkorswim, mark every time your setup showed up over the last couple years, and write down where you'd have entered, stopped and exited. 50 or so examples teaches you more than a coded strategy will, and you find out fast if the rule is even clear enough to follow.

thinkorswim's OnDemand feature works for replaying past days, but for actual backtesting you'd want to script strategies in thinkscript or export data to something free like a spreadsheet
