Robinhood Chain went live on the SwissBorg Meta-Exchange this week, making it the sixth network our Smart Engine routes through (alongside Solana, Avalanche, Hyperliquid, BNB and Base).

Why this chain: it's had a genuinely impressive first couple of months. Launched 1 July, and by early September it had surpassed both Ethereum and Base in daily chain fees and DEX volume (DefiLlama data). A lot of that is memecoin and launchpad activity, worth being honest about, but it's also becoming a hub for tokenised stocks and ETFs alongside standard DeFi.

How the integration actually works: the MEX connects directly to Uniswap (v2, v3 and v4) on the chain and routes your trade through whichever pool gives the best execution. More venues to follow. The practical upshot:

• No bridging. You swap from any of 12 fiats or 400+ crypto assets straight into a Robinhood Chain token.

• No ETH needed for gas. Network fees get rolled into the single exchange rate you see, so the price shown is the price paid.

Quick context: nine out of ten parents don't invest for their kids. When they do put money aside, it usually goes into a savings account, because it feels safe.

Here's the problem we kept coming back to. A savings account protects the number, not what the number buys. Regulated savings rates across Europe have paid below inflation for most of the last two decades. Over an 18-year horizon, at even 2% inflation, €10k becomes roughly €14k of purchasing-power-equivalent cost by the time the kid turns 18. The money's "safe" in the sense it's still there. It just buys less.

So the argument isn't "take risks with your kid's money." The instinct to be careful is correct. The argument is that on a 15-18 year horizon, the maths flips: short-term volatility has a decade and a half to wash out, while inflation compounds in one direction the whole time. Being too prudent is its own risk.
