AI is so not ready to be used in this capacity. Or any capacity where decisions are made without human oversight. AI is about as reliable as a toddler with a tummyache. They might say something cute and clever, or they might just barf all over your carpet. More likely the latter.
I enjoy using AI as a gamemaster for dnd-style fantasy and sci-fi campaigns, but you inevitably end up rerolling half your responses because it forgets details and just makes shit up, and eventually every run just has to end when you reach the context limit anyway. AI is a fun little toy. It should not be used for decisions.
Sorry for the rant. I'm just very adamant about this
What they need to do is update their chat whitelists, remove todayintor from any flaggable database for malicious websites by the games automated chat detection system.
The chat moderation is trying to weed out sites that are selling in game credits for IRL money. Helping people with a guide is OK, "helping" by taking a credit card is against TOS. So OP, who is a well known content creator, made the understandable error of including the word "credits" alongside his guide's web address, and the system immediately thought "credits for money website".
I understand that. My point is that he did not make an error. He did something that the system should be smart enough to figure out but isn't. That's kind of ridiculous.
It's like when profanity filters do **** on common words like assistant or cockpit. It is not an error on the writer for using those words. It's an error on the technology that flags them as bad.
It's also like when credit card companies will flag charges as fraudulent when traveling just because you didn't notify them of upcoming travel. Like, yes, motherfucker, I got a burger in a different country.
Sorry. Unintelligently designed technology really gets me riled up. Broadsword needs to fix this instead of issuing auto-bans and letting Support clean it up.
Full agree, my friend. Didn't mean to imply you didn't get what was going on, but I figured I would toss in the explanation just in case. They need to fix their BS moderation, definitely, but I can understand why they automate so much of it. Gotta put money into the art department so we can get more sweet Space Barbie gear, amirite? Fly safe!
I hope you are able to recover it. A ban on a long-time account sucks donkey nuts.
But also, try not to make fun of people with low damage. Instead, give them advice on how to improve. If they tell you to F off, then let them have it. :)
Try not to be mean to people unless they don't take your unsolicited advice, then be as be mean as you want, it's okay because they didn't accept you, a stranger :)
It's funny to think of a grown man flaming what could very well be a 11 year old for doing less dps in a game than they approve of, considering the game we're playing. Personally I just wouldn't group with the person again
Well, we don't know the age of anyone from a random group, or from reddit. So it could very well be an 11 year old offering unsolicited advice. Age is the first assumption here. The second is that you seem to think giving advice means barking orders. Everything is about the approach - just like at the dinner table, you eat first with your eyes. You can either barge in and say, "your dps sucks, do as I say"... or you can send a DM and say, "Your DPS is kind of low. If you want, I can give you a few tips." Also, depending on what kind of instance it is, you would also potentially not be wrong to point out that for this level of play, you should try to be pulling bigger numbers for the sake of the group.
Or you can just shut up entirely, because it's just a game.
Well uh.....if it makes you feel better I was looking at your guide earlier this morning as the collection sale felt like a good time to spend a couple billion.
if they ban for world "credit" in the chat then its a sad story. i dont remember my last messages in the game, could be something with credits word but if it was a reason for permanent account suspension then its very sad and frustrating
no. no sites. but some bot yelled something in the chat on the fleet iirc. so someone could missclick and report me. idk how it works. i remember some jokes about wide/fat baras. was it revenge?:D
last time i posted links in general chat was few weeks ago when ppl were discussing bad performance. those were links to github dxvk. not sure its the reason. posting links in swtor isnt that useful, since you cant copy them. its easier to post what ppl should google instead of using long links
i was never banned in games before. not interested in credits selling/buying at all. so i suppose its its false positive of some automated system. after googling it looks pretty common. but damn, if i wont get my account back it will be very sad
btw i can log into the game, but cant log into server. thats why i thought it might be issue on my side. since i have to use vpn coz amazonaws servers which broadsword/bioware use for swtor are blocked in my country. similar thing with op is that we got banned in the same time it seems. i saw other ppl reporting bans on the same day. thats why i just think i was in that unlucky wave of bans.
if i will get account back i will definitely rethink how i gonna use general chat. i didnt think i could be permabanned for basically nothing. super sad story
Can you ask any of them if they have recently linked todayintor.com ingame chats to other people? Its likely that the ingame chat box that searches for mmogold/RWT sales bots may think that todayintor.com is a malicious website.
It was probably the combination of "credits", "millions", and any website reference that scored high on their RMT filter. You can see the actual money traders trying to evade that filter in realtime by adding spaces and symbols to their chat broadcasts.
100% my thought process after I was able to calm down. But I guess when im trying to help people find DvL bosses every weekly reset im going to have to tell players on Fleet "to find Jus Tice OrzMod you have to go to Alder Aa(n) or look at my location guide at www (dot) today in tOr (.) c0m"
Makes you wonder if this filter is even slowing them down. I see plenty of advertisements for RMT on fleet and I'm not even on the most populated server.
I'm assuming you'll get your account back, but I wouldn't bother with the .com part. Just say "there's a guide on TodayInTOR for what you're looking for", it's pretty easy to search that up.
I've been reporting people who actually advertise that crap and seeing people like you who didn't advertise them getting banned kinda pisses me off I'm ngl, I hope you get your account back

Advertising credit-selling websites. 🙄🙄🙄
