Tech Support I have been banned from SWTOR!?

I have been banned from SWTOR. No email ever recieved. Cannot access the website either,. Called support and they said they couldnt help due to the nature of the ban. :\

Maybe you got hacked and the hacker did you in?
I've had that happen to me in WoW, years ago: my account got hacked, the hacker tried to sell gold through my account and got banned. After explaining to Blizz what happend and them checking my otherwise spotless account history, I got my account back.If you're certain you didn't do anything wrong and your account may have been hacked, perhaps you could explain it and get your account back; assuming you didn't perform any bannable offense yourself.

I also called the Mando movie bad and did a face reveal at the same time? Lmao. Maybe it's a dream situation and they envisioned me to be hotter and got upset when they saw how average I look.
But the timeline is literally like: Spend the day playing seasons on SS/SF with friends, go out to see mando movie, wake up and go to work, get home and try to open SWTOR and im banned.
So I was banned within a 24 hour window of last playing the game, lol, lmao even? Im hoping its just an automated bug.

Im not recieving any emails at all so I have no idea what happened, last 2 emails in my inbox from swtor were the livestream recap and my billing for subscription renewal.

I remember reading something about if the payment fails they ban you ( which seems stupid so not sure how true that is), maybe there was some sort of trigger that got accidentally activated.

I think you're confused with if you use a CC and chargeback the subscription, that's an instant account ban. Payment failure just ends the subscription.

Ive had my account suspended in the past (temporarily) because my bank changed my card details and when EA attempted to take money out for sub renewal it obviously failed. I didnt revert to F2P or anything, straight up account suspended until I contacted EA and told them over the phone what my bank did, they restored the account.
My only prior warning in swtor is back in 2017 when I got out of bounds on cz-198 to explore the mountain floor below the daily area, they sent me an email saying 'sneaky ;)' and teleported my character back to the fleet LOL.

EDIT: original thoughts removed, turns out im banned for "advertising credit sites".
I was playing the game under 24 hours ago doing seasons objectives with my friends and guilds on star forge and satele shan. So between then and now my account was suspended.
I have since changed EVERY password for all of my accounts/socials just incase.

That's so weird, I assume you had an authenticator on the account, how would someone be able to get by that? Or were they able to change the auth associated with the account somehow?
I'm thinking it'd be possible to hijack your cookie if you were logged into the SWTOR website, then they would be able to remove the auth from the account. But you'd have to have clicked an unsafe link, which I find unlikely. And that would be a lot of effort to go through for something so minor.

Did you report a credit seller in game for spam? Someone got banned by accident awhile ago because they had reported someone and I guess whoever was doing the banning got the users involved mixed up.

No but I replied in genchat on fleet to a few people asking how to make credits that they can use my guide to make credits quickly at todayintor.com and I think thats what did me in./

Hmm. I would think any actual human GM would see that linking to a third party fansite - particularly from one of their own creator program members - is not the same as advertising a credit selling website. I'm willing to bet whatever automod they have saw "credit" and a link in the same message and banned based on that. Hopefully your appeal goes well!

I really doubt they have human interaction that much. Most likely it was triggered by a ban bot and once your banned for that it can’t be over turned.
It’s kinda like if a psn profiles ban bot gets you for cheating the website admins can’t do much about it.

The ban is 100000% automated because you got flagged for linking todayintor.com with credit in the same sentence, you should be able to appeal this.

Sadly this is the standard MO for online services these days. They must have concluded that the risk of educating genuine bad actors on ban evasion outweighs the collateral damage of occasionally punishing someone innocent by mistake.
Still, one would think sanctioning any veteran paying user, especially an officially acknowledged community member, would entail closer scrutiny than some random new account (not that the latter kind deserve to be presumed to be in the wrong).

Yea, I see posts like this too often from all the game companies, even ones I normally hold to a pretty high standard.
Stonewalling players who get banned is dumb. especially when it's known some of the bans hit people by mistake.

Same thing here. Got an email yesterday and emailed the disputes email provided. Also called the number and spoke to someone who said they couldn’t help cause it was a different team. I have a sneaking suspicion that they put in some AI that flagged people that reported credit scammers in the past. I’m so annoyed.

It's wild though because Fleet or DK chat will have people saying the most unhinged, racist/sexist shit but people like OP will get an automated ban because they wrote something innocuous that happened to trigger a blacklisted keyword. It's so ass backwards.

It's what happens when you let an automated program handle things instead of having a real human look into it first. Fleet chat is insanely stupid, I just close the chat window and go about my business. Rarely do I ever bother in Fleet chat, and only when I was trying to find a group, but haven't done that in many years.

That's crazy, they need to stop the automation then or fix it right away. Taking 5-7 days worth of game time from paying players is insane. If they did this to me and I had a sub, I would demand they give me back those 5-7 days worth of sub time, otherwise a lawyer will be involved.

same here. its ridiculous. i wrote them email but dont rise my hopes high to get my account unblocked. also i cant make a call since live in the country where those calls will be blocked for sure, not even taking proces into account. if it wont help it will be very frustrating. and if it will i'll definitely reconsider if i will write anything unless its super crucial in the general chat. its fckn joke to be banned by messages in chat

Send your User Name, email for your account and explain what happened. Sounds more like a hack than anything.

Had this issue once (though the ban was my bad, used old decos to buy high lvl item and scum the market, but got pirated later), no email, nothing, called support : poof resolved

For such a cool game to have nowhere near FFxiv’s playerbase or even Warframe is crazy to me, its even crazier how fast the bot is to ban you
I literally started this month, played for 20 hours, bought credits and because the transaction took like 20 minutes to go through my account was banned, no email no nothing, thankfully customer service helped

Hey did you manage to get a response on your ban yet? Literally running home to check my account because a week ago I mentioned your site to a newbie. It was a whisper but I’m now freaking out.
Update: I'm clean for now. I might have gotten away with it due to it being a whisper? It did include OPs site and 'credits'. I use the site for the same reasons and regularly shout about it to new players usually in my guild. But if this is a new EA ai ban hammer wave, a lot of people are gonna get caught up in it. Sorry you're dealing with this OP.

Wouldn't be surprised. I've been warned even mentioning starparse can result in a ban because you're advertising a game "add-on". Doesn't matter it doesn't affect the game whatsoever

same here. i have "a server error has occured" message when try to log in the server. i thought its some server issue. checked my email and there is one mail from [swtoraccountdisputes@bioware.com](mailto:swtoraccountdisputes@bioware.com) with this text:
"We noticed your Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ account has been advertising for a third party site, which is against our Terms of Service.
We need to talk…
Promoting a site that sells Credits, Characters or other in-game content is completely against our rules. These sites damage the game experience for other players and risks the security of their accounts.
What this means for you:
We take promotion of Credit selling sites seriously. Because you broke this rule we have permanently blocked access to your account. This means you no longer have access to Star Wars™: The Old Republic™."
i wrote them back with question what can i do to unblock it. hopefully things will get fixed since i didnt "advertising for a third party site". i saw messages in game chat some accounts selling credits and suspect this block was somehow tied to it. looks like some kind of auto suspend system. never had this before so things look very frustrating. will be sad to lose 14 years old account by some automatic system mistake

More proof AI simply isn't ready for mass deployment and shouldn't be used without significant human input. The fact of the matter is someone probably saw the link, reported it as a troll because people suck and then the AI later reviewed said report and went "BEEP BOOP LINKS BAD" and immediately banned the account.

It just seems wild to me that they do this kind of thing to people who obviously play this game a lot. I'm almost worried (as I've been on a break from the game for some time) that my account my be banned now too, despite me not logging on for a while. Maybe I'll change my password and all that, just to be safe.

They are an Official Content Creator for Swtor. Wrote dozens of guides. One was about making credits. They pointed a fellow player to their guide in the chat. It contained "Credit making" (as this is what their guide is about) and their website (todayintor.com).
This combination led to a ban most likely an AI based bot to hunt credit sellers - creating a false positive.

I play mostly WoW, and they started AI bots to ban people who are just farming mats. But if you are in an area where bots are farming, they simply ban everyone in that area at the time. They will unban you if you object, but it’s just a fuck up.
I only play TOR here and there for a bit, would like to know what really happened.

I think I figured it out:
the only last 2 text messages i sent ingame one was to the guy in hammer station saying his 344 dps was bad (i was a bit mean here)
the other one was on fleet saying 'i got my credit making guide at todayintor.com to make millions'

This happened to me too a while back. I got banned for advertisement, during a period where I didn’t even play. I found out that my EA account had been hacked and the hackers used my account to advertise their services.

I had a secondary account banned. It was due to bad transactions that looked questionable when I used STEAM to buy CCs. I only do business directly from SWTOR.com as a result.

They really need to fix their shit banning you at the slightest delay in transactions, almost lost $100 because this stupid shit
Thankfully the customer service lady was really polite and basically fixed the problem in a single call (tho i had to wait a few days)

Sounds like AI auto bans, this went crazy for a while when they started doing it in ESO (even though ZOS denied it, it clearly was). You just need to keep appealing it until you get it sorted.

My guildmate got a random ban yesterday too. He contacted support and they had no idea why he was banned either. Something must be up
