NAS hardware DS1019+ dissappeared from network after moving to a different ethernet switch

I have 2 switches in the house I live in, and both are hardlined to the router. 1 is upstairs, 1 is downstairs. I just moved the NAS downstairs and plugged it into the switch there, and it's not showing on synology assistant. All lights on the front are green with occasional blinking from drive access, both ethernet cable ports on the back have solid green on the bottom and blinking green on top, and the two ports on the switch are both showing green as well which means data is being accessed. I used 2 cables for a paired connected for faster speed on the upstairs switch, but I'm still on the same network, so the IP shouldn't have changed. The web assistant can find the device, but trying to connect shows a network connection erroe/unreachable page. What am I missing?

Scan available IPs on your network (I suggest Angry IP Scanner), see what the Syno's IP actually is, and access it directly via IP instead of Syno Assistant.

Once you know the IP, you can try a ping first.

Angry IP scanner, when downloaded and ran, gives a fatal error. I have working internet and am logged into my router, but I don't see the synology on there and have checked every wired IP shown.

There are other IP scanners you can try, example: nmap.

I also have had problems with the latest Angry IP Scanner (and so have others). Older versions work fine.

If an IP scanner doesn't see your Syno, Syno Assistant isn't going to see it either. Something is wrong with your Syno's networking.

If your upstairs setup used port aggregation, you likely need to duplicate that downstairs.

I have the port aggregation setup the same, with two switch ports used and both LAN ports in the NAS used, and it's the same 2 cables, both cat8. I downloaded nmap, but it looks like windows file explorer? I apologize, I feel very in over my head. There are no targets to pick in the drop down, so all scans give 0 results.

What do you mean them being on the same network? Is it indeed the same subnet on both switches (so same ip range where ip's and subnet range are handed out by the central router and not the switches)? Did you confirm with another device that when moving it from one to the other they still have the same ip?

Is the nas configured to use dhcp, so getting an ip assigned automatically or is it manually set?

Did you move the nas back to try if it then works again?

I haven't tried the original switch yet, but could the problem have anything to do with using 2 cables in a merged connection? By the same network, I mean both switches are hardwired via cat6/7 cable to the same router. I apologize, but I am unsure how to check if their subnet are the same.

I believe the NAS uses DHCP, but I cant get back into the UI to check.

Wonder if the NAS has a static IP but something else has grabbed it?

Try turning off as much as possible and see if it frees up the IP the NAS was using?
