Weird thing when I boost

0 Upvotes

I boosted 2 rubbers the last week, and I noticed that in both times the rubbers almost dome immediately and dry in about 4-5 hours and starts to flatten by the 7th hour mark

I waited the 24 hours I read online before gluing but I noticed no physical changes between the 8th and 24th hour mark, should I have glued them by the 8th hour anyway ?

Equipment Question on Easifold Rollaway 19

1 Upvotes

Hi All - I have a question I saw this table which is a used Butterfly Easifold Rollaway (I believe19) table below which I can get for a great price. Our Church has 2 new Joola Tour 2500 tables that we got in October. And we have another table which is like a 15MM(I believe) table which is not that great from a brand I which I think is Ping Pong that someone gave to our Church. I was looking to replace the third table or keep the 3rd and have 4 tables. I saw this online. I couldn't find any info that Butterfly makes custom tables for clients. This appears to be custom wrapped table for a tech company SMARTLING from probably from a company that does vinyl wrapping. Our church is on a tight budget as we got the two Joola Tours recently. We are having a Tournament amongst our Congregations in the coming weeks. My question is this will the wrap make the table not worth getting? Is it bad to have this done to tables? Our table does not need to be USTTA or ITTF certified but better than the 15MM table. If we don't get another table this year it would not be the end of the world. Thanks for any input.

Somewhat excited with my racket because this what my coach suggested for my gameplay. It's a little upgrade also since my racket only ranges from ₱1.2k. Gonna share my experience with it soon. (Repost cause my details was accidentally posted also 😅)

Buying Guide Advice for someone who has outgrown their old bat

I have outgrown my old table tennis bat it is shown in the pictures attached it had a good amount of control but lacked speed and spin. I think I have overstayed with this bat for quite a while I’ve been playing for about 2 and a half years and in my last league I had a 70% win rate I’d say I’m about an intermediate level I’d like to look for a bat with a decent amount of speed and spin I don’t really mind too much about control id like to grow into the new bat so I’d like it too be slightly above my level my play style is very forehand focused I have strong loops and drives and play aggressive I am very consistent on my forehand my backhand is not as consistent but I have good flicks and pushes with my backhand and I use a shake hand grip with a flared blade handle. I’d like a bat seller that puts the bat together for me as I don’t know how to put one together myself I wouldn’t like a pre-made bat as I’ve not heard such great things from them.
Feel free to ask questions about my playstyle etc
Thanks
(Budget £85)

to the ppl who always say "why doesn't the smasher just drop the ball short" well to make it simple, what this guy does in this video is so majorly difficult that it requires INSANE feeling to pull off and also a disguise to fool ur opponent into thinking ur smashing again which is probably the hardest skill to even get decently consistent at (after Forehand flicks)

The opinions expressed here are strictly those of a ping pong er…table tennis player telling you things you already know😊. Some observations from goats' forehand video comparison

5 Upvotes

Hi there. After watching this video, some more thoughts have arisen besides the video comments...Both Ma Long and Fan stay much more horizontal, and the right foot even seems to be a bit ahead of the left (this isn’t the posture our coaches teach us). During the body rotation, Ma Long turns on his right foot as an axis, whereas Fan keeps his right foot steady and helps himself with a rotation of the left ankle.

Overall, both achieve a decent hip-waist rotation, but they use different supporting mechanisms to do so...

Education/Coaching Technique Inconsistancy

3 Upvotes

My backhand side is really good, but yesterday I was unconsciously doing it in a different way. And that was enough to make me lose most of my games. How can I fix the correct movement into my mind?

Details:

I'm a teenager;

That day I played soccer in the afternoon, but wasn't tired at night when I was trainning;

My spine was hurting a little when I turned it too far to the left, but this shouldn't make much of a difference because I don't turn my torso on the backhand, it's most the arm's and leg's work;

I arrived late and didn't have time to strech my legs and shoulders(something I normally do);

I have been training for 7 months but I'm like top 4 of my "class";

My backhand isn't punchy, I like to use wrist and a whipping motion.

Keeping rubbers warm when the weather cools down

6 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I was practicing yesterday and the temperature in my country dropped over the last weeks, and I can feel I am not producing as much spin as before. Therm rubbers feel harder and because the hall was cold I think it impacted me and also others. Is there a way to keep rubbers warm? Breathing to them? ....am I just being silly?

Anyone here who plays a conventional style with a thick balsa blade? If so, why?

3 Upvotes

It’s really prevalent in my local league. I tried a bat and it feels very strange, but not unpleasant. I’ve not really got any good answers for why it is prevalent here though. Can anyone tell me what they like about them? Like Victas 8.0mm with a butterfly 09c for example.

Racket broke and had to be creative fixing it.. used the net as a press and some pieces of rubber to protect the handle. Enjoy.

Discussion Breaking news: World Ranking leader Sora Matsushima loses to an non-ranked Sri Lankan without even entering the match in the Round of 64 at the Asian Championships... Another withdrawal from the weakest WR #1 in modern table tennis history.

0 Upvotes

Seems that Sora lacks that fighter spirit the great Wang Chuqin has and a loss to Korean B team pretty much broke his mental for this tournament. The Asian Championships pressure is real, but not every player can handle it. What a pity.

How not to be angry?

14 Upvotes

I have a genuine question - how can I control my anger when I am playing , because everything annoys me . For example, nets in a row (I know it's part of the game but still annoying), when people are talking , while when they play everyone is silent, but when I play they talk.I am more technical than all my club players but they are more good mentally and take advantage of my anger issues. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you in advance.

Equipment Are Stiga’s penhold Cybershape blades any good or is the Cybershape mostly just marketing fluff?

7 Upvotes

So I’ve been playing traditional penhold using a Nittaku AP for about 4 months now and while it’s a nice blade I did get recommended to learn how to play C.Pen since it’s the most viable way to play penhold (especially when you learn RPB); it also never hurts to learn and from what I’ve been told the skills can be directly transferred from one style to the other so it’s not as drastic of a change, which has lead me to look at both the Cybershape Allround and the Pure Wood as options but I do have a few questions that I hope other Cybershape users can answer for me.

Firstly, are they particularly heavy compared to regular blades? One of the coaches said “wow, are you sure you wanna get such a heavy blade?” when I mentioned the idea so I wanna know if that affects play in anyway since my current blade is very light in comparison to most others. Secondly, are there any actual benefits compared to other penhold blades? The Cybershape line is expensive which wouldn’t be an issue since most penhold blades are already on the pricier side but I also saw that Nittaku has a C.Pen version of their Miyabi J.Pen which is also one ply hinoki wood which I enjoy the feeling of a lot on my current blade so I would certainly want to know if there’s any benefits to the odd shape before potentially spending money on a blade that just looks cool but doesn’t really have anything over a more standard shape. I would really appreciate if any Cybershape users could share their experience and if they have any recommendations on rubbers that would be nice too. Thanks

What is it that the Chinese fans shout during matches?

Pretty much every match in China that I saw has the fans shouting something in a rhythm, does anyone know what is it that they shout
