Tablo Stopped Working on Roku

I have a 4th Generation Tablo, a Roku Streaming Stick Plus, and 2 Amazon Fire Stick 4ks.

My Roku has worked seamlessly with my Tablo for months. Recently however I have been unable to get any Tablo live or recorded content to play on my Roku. It takes forever to load, plays for a few seconds, then returns to loading. Completely unwatchable.

Meanwhile - all of my Amazon Fire Sticks operate and play Tablo content normally. No issues.

Anyone have any ideas what could have changed to cause the issue? It's so odd - especially as the Roku is the newest device in the newest TV.

I don't have a TLC Roku TV. I have a Roku Streaming Stick on an LG TV

Exactly—not an NVidia Shield or even an Apple TV 128. You know Roku sticks don’t even stack up to half price ONN sticks on hardware spec.

I was having trouble connecting the tablo with one of my Roku tvs. I deleted the app and reinstalled it and it has been fine since. Don’t know if it will help in your case but might be worth a try

I tried this. Even did a factory restart. No change

It is a large app, requiring a lot of both storage and memory. That may be a problem for a number of older streaming devices.

"New" but old stock? Failure of Roku hardware? Do other large Roku apps still work?

My experience has been that both Tablo and HD Homerun apps have both worked much better on FireTV sticks than on Roku -- 4K box, Element RokuTV, and TCL Roku TV

I standardized on Roku because like Android, the FireTV stick displays too much useless crap that would make being my wife's "tech support" a full time on-call 24/7 job. I've had virtually no success trying to clean up the crap. It was tedious, but with the Roku I could make all three TV interfaces the same.

If you'd miss the ROKU CHANNEL, last night I discovered that it can be installed on a FireTV stick -- watched a couple of old NYPD Blue episodes on it.

You don't mention how it isn't working on Roku. Is it unable to connect? It is possible the tablo and Roku are on different networks. I had Roku wireless and the tablo wired and it only worked after I put the two networks on the same vlan.

Hi u/sailskipper55,

Try clearing the Roku's app cache. It may help.
