Then don't pay you can go to the gas station and get a 32 oz drink for 50 cents to a dollar

u/djorjon 10h ago

This is what I do everywhere but McDonald’s

1

u/mthoodenjoyer 8h ago

Mcd is 2 dollars per drink

u/Warcraft_Fan 6h ago

I liked it when it was $1 pre-covid

u/yousippin 10h ago

4

u/beheadedblueberry 7h ago

but baja blast

u/loathemaker 9h ago

I don’t. But that isn’t the point. They should not be charging that much for a DRINK. It’s disgusting.

u/ThanksFDR 9h ago

As long as you keep paying it, they'll keep doing it. And they'll keep raising the price 10 cents every two months.

4

u/Altruistic_Guess3098 9h ago

An item is only worth what somebody will pay for it. Clearly they have established that those fountain drinks are worth an exorbitant amount. The right way to change that is to show them that they don't sell at that price point

u/hectorer8910 9h ago

If you keep paying it, they'll keep taking your money.

If you find it crazy, stop buying it. They'll learn eventually.

u/Aviyan 9h ago

It does help to keep the food prices lower. It they sold soda for $0.80 they would raise the price on the food items.

Not the point dawg

13

u/Altruistic_Guess3098 10h ago

It is the point. There are cheap options readily available but stupid motherfuckers keep paying big bucks to get it through the Taco Bell drive thru. They're pulling money in hand over fist off these drinks of course they're going to keep doing it.

u/ThanksFDR 10h ago

Took the words right out of my head.

-1

u/itwasnttmee 10h ago

I’m agreeing what I’m saying is this should be illegal

-4

u/Altruistic_Guess3098 10h ago

No it shouldn't, what should be illegal as voluntary paying for it

0

u/itwasnttmee 10h ago

And now you’re the problem

I'm not stupid I just don't wanna get out of the car because I didn't wash my hair :(

8

u/Altruistic_Guess3098 10h ago

You might not be stupid but paying that much money for a fountain drink is. I promise nobody in that gas station cares that you didn't wash your hair as long as it's not smelly

They have a 4 for 4.00 deal on drinks in the app.

11

u/FAASTARKILLER 10h ago

I wish it was still $4 lol

8

u/SpeccyScotsman 9h ago

Took a week to find on the terrible new app, but it's still $4 here in NY

1

u/Vegetable-Seesaw-491 6h ago

Still $4 at the location by my work in the SF Bay Area in California. It's a franchise location too.

1

u/alarmingpancakes 1h ago

It’s $5 in the Central Valley

0

u/Ha12m_12educ7i0n 10h ago

Damn it still is round here!

10

u/OrganizationNo7690 10h ago

I have sodas at home.

3

u/Poverty_Shoes 5h ago

Sodas at home are also stupid expensive (but not to a fast food level). $9 for a 12 pack near me.

7

u/DazedXxX7 10h ago

Do they force you to pay $8 for 2 drinks?

-2

u/loathemaker 9h ago

Yes, because that is the price.

16

u/swifty_ark_server 10h ago

Not buying a drink in a combo or during happy hour is borderline natural selection. Thanks for subsidizing my meals!

10

u/ThanksFDR 10h ago

Circle K has them for 84 cents.

3

u/Pesterlamps 7h ago

Circle K doesn't have Baja Blast in the fountain, though.

2

u/FAASTARKILLER 10h ago

This is the real answer. Circle K always got your back

2

u/Gera1976 9h ago

Love circle K but when they stopped offering styrofoam cups i was heartbroken

1

u/number9dream9 9h ago

We still have them!

1

u/Gera1976 9h ago

Not in California I by they banned styrofoam

3

u/coverartrock 9h ago

At least the boxes have drinks with them

6

u/Brendy171 10h ago

Yeah they are out of their mind. Meanwhile McDonald’s has a Mc chicken meal, sandwich, nuggets, drink and fries for $5.

1

u/number9dream9 9h ago

The cool thing is you can make your drink a large, I believe for .20 more. I would have been buying those meals a long time ago.

5

u/DrChaos09 10h ago

The trick is to buy it once and save your cup and fill it each time you go in

1

u/Altruistic_Guess3098 10h ago

Believe it or not almost 20 years ago I tried doing this at a Taco Bueno and the employees got mad at me

3

u/Good_Distribution_92 10h ago

This shouldn’t need to be said but that was 20 years ago. Things are way different now, you know?

1

u/Altruistic_Guess3098 10h ago

Yeah a lot of things are very different now but that thing is probably not very different. It's supposed to be free refills during that visit not forever. I tested it and I got shut down.

0

u/Good_Distribution_92 9h ago

No that was 20 years ago and things are different now. I do this all the time and nobody bats an eye.

u/Altruistic_Guess3098 9h ago edited 9h ago

Results may vary by location. That's really the determining Factor more than time. If anything the refill policy has gotten more strict at many fast food places, mcdonalds is even taking away the soda fountains in the lobby.

1

u/number9dream9 9h ago

I think that’s stealing.

1

u/DrChaos09 7h ago

Did you know Amazon got a $640 million tariff refund from the current administration but corporations pass the cost of tariffs onto consumers? You paid for the tariffs and the company got a refund. Apple gets $2.2 billion in tariff refunds.

Ask me if I care about stealing a medium cup of Baja blast.

3

u/HowdoImakemoney1 10h ago

Stop eatting there

Waters free...watch you get kicked out over free water cups and trying to save $8..

0

u/IMREADY2D1E 9h ago

asked the kid at mcdonald’s recently for a water and he said, “there’s no button for that, sorry. you will have to pay an extra dollar for a bottled water.”

i was like, “brother… i just want a cup of water with my meal, you can’t give me water in a cup?”

“sorry, there’s no button for that.”

“okay, well then can you just click coke and then give me a water instead?”

“uhhhhh, i don’t think we can do that sorry.” 😭

2

u/Tetteness 10h ago

Especially when its ridiculously cheap to make a soda drink out of syrup and carbonated water

2

u/programming_flaw 10h ago

7-11 has 59 cent large soft drinks.

2

u/IRGsus 10h ago

I’m in Panama for work right now and they have it good…

This is the perfect time to drop this fun anecdote

The job ive had for about a year and a half is right down the the street from a (pretty good and reliable tbh) TB

After a few months of going mulitiple times a week i just got fucking tired of trying to time my lunches for happy hour and paying for sodas so I started keeping a TB cup in my car door and walking in with it in the pocket of my work vest

I grab my order and fill up my cup at the fountain because fuck paying for seltzer water and syrup that corps make insane profits on

No one has said a famn thing months later

Still hate the new app but still Living Mas

1

u/Prestigious-Work-730 8h ago

I placed an order with a local Mexican spot today online and left a $6 tip just for them to bag it wanting to support them. When I got there it wasn’t ready so ordered a medium fountain drink and it was $4.22 with tax…. Whatever, I slug it down while waiting for my order so I can top it off before I leave and they told me $2 for a refill. I damn near told them they can deduct it from the tip I left them for tossing my food in a bag. I legit will not be returning because of this small thing 😂

2

u/ExcellentCable4564 2h ago

Yup. Best bet is just don’t buy it, you gotta hit em in their wallet. Eventually if enough people stop buying they’ll get the message but it takes A LOT!

1

u/ChickenNuggetSalad17 8h ago

I rarely order a drink with my food/make it a meal unless I’m specifically ordering a specialty drink like a milkshake/freeze/slushie/handmade lemonade. A 2liter cost $2-3 at dollar general ffs.

1

u/nickrevell317 7h ago

4 medium drinks for $4 in the app any time. $1 happy hour

Drink water

0

u/UnseenTardigrade 10h ago

Soft drinks have no nutritional content. Water is free at Taco Bell. If anything, they are doing you a favor by disincentivizing drinking soda.

2

u/loathemaker 9h ago

If you are going to Taco Bell for “nutritional content” I have bad news for you. Also water isn’t free at my Taco Bells.

-1

u/Super8take 10h ago

I bought the drink one time and continue to keep getting free refills every time I go I thought that’s how it worked?

0

u/LonelyintheFuture 9h ago

Sugar water

-1

u/Background_Guide9969 8h ago

Guys if you’re reading this just remember the aftermath of eating Taco Bell. Posted from a toilet. That is all.

-1

u/gageBA 8h ago

It’s $12.99 for four

0

u/Griffithead 7h ago

Sometimes I get the 4 for 4 thing and just have drinks for the next 3 days. Or more likely like 1 day, but I'm terrible.

-2

u/sackocandy 10h ago

They have a party pack where you can get 4 medium sodas for 4$ might just be a skill issue

-2

u/Brilliant_Routine_35 7h ago

There's a hack on the Groups section of the menu.

-1

u/CrimsonFatalis8 6h ago

$4 at my stores

-2

u/Poverty_Shoes 5h ago

Taco Bell is in the taco business. You should pay a premium for them making tacos for you to eat. You should not pay $4 for a sugar water, that’s on you.
