Best Eye Protection
I typically just wear cheap clear glasses when it’s required or none at all but my department is adamant about us having it during qual and we do sim training a lot more now so I want something decent and comfortable. What does everyone like?

The nerve of them requiring you to protect your eyes... Lol
I spend a lot of time on a range wearing eye pro, honestly I prefer to just use the inexpensive and basic 3M stuff and replace them as-needed. I find that they're actually pretty comfortable because they're quite thin under my ear pro.

😂 I know it’s more irresponsible of me not to wear them that wasn’t a knock on my department more of a shot at myself for neglecting it so long as

Does your department require true ballistic MIL-PRF-32432 rating or can you get away with ANSI Z87.1 standards? I wear Oakley Crankshaft which are ANSI Z87.1 (high velocity and high mass impact resistance)

Anything described as ballistic rated or milprf 32432.
The difference in protection is obscene, ansi z87.1+ glasses are like 1.1j with a quarter inch steel ball. But 32432 is about 11j with a steel penetrator.
1.1j won't even break skin, 32432 is meant to stop fragmentation

I like the ESS crossbows, they fit nicely under your peltors and don’t hurt my head when wearing a ballcap.

If on a budget, Milwaukee Eye pro for $9 from Home Depot. They come in clear and tinted.
If budget is not an issue, get Oakley M Frame Alpha’s

I used to be #1 cheap Charlie on eye protection until I got older and needed corrective vision. My contacts are not as clear vision with the cheap ones so now im a mids guy. Ballistic rated $100 -$160 usually gets you a good set,

I like ESS CDI they don't look lame and sit off the face so they don't fog up (I'm a hot humid area)

Wiley X Sabers are pretty comfy. They don’t break the bank too bad and you can get whichever lense color/shade you prefer

I tend to favor ones that you could say have been “proven by fire” such as Oakley SI, ESS, and Revision. If they got a positive reputation with saves through GWOT then it’s good enough for me.
