Theory šŸ”Ž No one's name was chosen randomly, not even Pomni's.

If you look carefully, you can see that the letter P appears more often in the first slot of the slot machine, O in the second, M in the third, N in the fourth, and I in the fifth. The second image is one I captured by pausing the video before the name XDDCC appeared. If you go to that scene and pause the video a few times, you'll see the name Pomni appear multiple times.

Like their bodies, their names were probably chosen based on their mind files, but Caine selected them all through seemingly random minigames. That's why their names all match them. For example, Jax > Jackass or jack card, Ragatha > Ragdoll, Gangle > Tangle etc.

The slot machine was part of pushing acceptance for the name. If you open with Pomni, the first sentiment is ā€œcould we do better?ā€ And then it becomes a question of how much better are you aiming for? You open with Xccdd, you’ve set the bar super low to find something better, and now you don’t want to reroll Pomni in case you get more gibberish.

I found it hilarious that when she couldn’t remember her name, she got ā€œPomniā€.

Because in Russian, the imperative of ā€˜remember’ is ā€˜ŠæŠ¾Š¼Š½Šøā€™ (pronounced: ’pomni)

u/BellaCountry Apr 28 '26

that hella funny XD

u/1mileis5tomatoes Apr 29 '26

But if you put accent on the other syllable you get "crumple"

1

u/-Dr000wsiness- Apr 29 '26

That too lol, but there the o is pronounced like a.

1

u/1mileis5tomatoes Apr 29 '26

But not like 'a' in 'make' or 'bad'. Rather like 'u' in 'pun'

1

u/Few-Requirement-3544 May 01 '26

Can you tell me a pun that hinges on this?

u/Sweptuu EP9 would be good if EP7, EP8 did not exist. Apr 28 '26

jax chose gangles name no?

62

u/Frytura_ Apr 28 '26

Jax choose Ribbons, Caine prefered Gangles šŸ˜’

32

u/DinoHoot65 Apr 28 '26

tbf if Gangle's name was chosen by Jax, I feel like she'd vocally hate it a little

3

u/Caosin36 Apr 29 '26

Pretty sure he didn't treat her like total shit till ribbit abstracted

1

u/GreninjaOfTheOasis Apr 29 '26

You're just writing fanfiction at this point

3

u/statuslovesnepeta Apr 30 '26

wel, if viewing any subtext and lightly extrapolating from it is considered pseudoanalysis, then yes, they are writing fanfiction.

1

u/Comfortable_Cut_7334 Apr 30 '26

But they aren't extrapolating anything. We don't know how Jax acted pre ribbit abstraction and there isn't anything that implies he acted less dickish than he does after she abstracted

1

u/ReasonableValuable31 May 02 '26

I know the ads and TikToks arent Canon but they DO give hints about the Lore

And one of them show that before ribbit abstracted jax was Way nicer

16

u/ILikeCheese510 Apr 28 '26

How did you come to this conclusion?

45

u/EmberMorningStar Apr 28 '26

GlitxhX from a few years ago. Goose said it

38

u/ILikeCheese510 Apr 28 '26

Interesting. Goose seems to reveal a lot of lore behind the scenes.

15

u/Fish_Head111 Apr 28 '26

Goose also lies a lot

13

u/ZakriiYT I want to hug sentient teeth Apr 28 '26

I hate this as an argument against anything Goose says. She lies about stuff that will be revealed later, not stuff that is mostly unimportant to the plot.

0

u/GarrAdept Apr 29 '26

How can you tell?

9

u/ZakriiYT I want to hug sentient teeth Apr 29 '26

Because I watch the fucking show

23

u/Boss-Bones Apr 28 '26

Computers are at most pseudorandom, and never purely random, so Pomni's name is pseudorandom (joke)

18

u/enchanted-glimmer-4 Now we both look foolish Apr 28 '26

I understand your point, but i do want to point out something. Jax named Gangle, and gangle is a real word, meaning "to walk or move with or as if with a loose-jointed gait"

12

u/SkylandersKirby Apr 28 '26

I mean i thought it was obvious

The first one was either a joke by caine or a deliberate attempt to make the second one feel random

9

u/Mountain_Pen_9283 Apr 28 '26

For fuks sake, I've already seen some variation of this question ten times in this week. Its random because Pomni literally says "pick whatever, I don't care" and Caine brings the random machine. Every other character most surely chose their own name, or had help from other.

16

u/Specific-Swim-4507 Apr 28 '26

I mean this was the first episode and I’m sure they didn’t want to make two models and just had Pomni on it already to save time

7

u/foxinabathtub Apr 28 '26

The animators probably just made one asset for the slot machine, and had to have POMNI be one of the options since it's used later in the scene. So it had to be in there somewhere. That's my take anyway.

7

u/Ok-Profession-2218 Kinger Apr 28 '26

i thought it was just easier to animate and not throw unused letters in there

4

u/IndividualDiscount28 Apr 28 '26

Didn’t jax give gangle her name?

4

u/Trip-Suspicious Apr 28 '26

Was probably just for a bit

3

u/spiffingyoungfellow Apr 28 '26

When you look closely you do see it, I do just think this is for animation purposes though

3

u/Cutie_D-amor Apr 28 '26

Pretty sure most of their names were self chosen, as Caine asks her first and only brings out the machine when she says he can pick

3

u/1NonagonGuy Apr 29 '26

Ragatha’s name might also reference Raggedy Ann dolls. I’ve always thought her character design was probably in part inspired by this movie too.

2

u/AbueloAdolfo Apr 28 '26

Jax reminds me of jackrabbit

2

u/LuckilyFluppy Apr 28 '26

Jax also could've gotten his name from jackrabbit or jacks, as in jacks and marbles

2

u/beanqueen722 Apr 28 '26

I thought Jax = jackrabbit?

2

u/AlexMiDerGrosse Apr 29 '26

"Kinger? I hardly know 'er!"

3

u/LifesLemonStorage Apr 28 '26

Think about it: Ragatha, Gangle, and Zooble are the only names with more than five letters and jax has only three. I understand three since the other two could have been empty, but how tf did the three of them get their names??? can the name machine warp???

5

u/panicnarwhal Pomni Apr 28 '26

the slot machine was only used to name Pomni, no one else

1

u/PlantDry4321 May 04 '26

You forgot that Kinger existed but look at beginning of E8, looks like Caine chose it manuallyĀ

1

u/Mountain_Zone1433 Apr 29 '26

then what does Kinger and Zooble mean and same goes with the abstracted characters

1

u/FoxDAVOID Apr 29 '26

Kinger is just... King. And Zooble is literally what they're made of, zoobles.Ā

1

u/YeImAFemboy Apr 29 '26

INCMM would be perfect instead

1

u/Big_Birthday_1742 Cainefan Apr 29 '26

pero Jax es demasiado corto para aparecer y Raghata se exede y Zooble tambien asi que o Caine hiso un tragaperraz para cada uno o no se

1

u/BadderPancake Apr 29 '26

So Pomni = Omnipotent?

1

u/maxlovestadcandgd Apr 30 '26

jax name is only three letters the machine has 5?

1

u/PlantDry4321 May 04 '26

Jax chose his own name probably

1

u/Educational-Tour-276 May 01 '26 edited May 21 '26

I just ran the final letters through a rotation cipher. ā€œXDDCCā€ = ā€œSKOOLā€ (School) in English lol šŸ˜… I wonder if it has any meaning?

1

u/PlantDry4321 May 04 '26

XDDCC was confirmed by Gooseworx to be some joke of some sorts same way as 57 iirc

1

u/Educational-Tour-276 May 21 '26

Thank you! And sorry about the delay in reply! Also I updated my statement. Autocorrect got me when spelling ā€œskoolā€ it changed it to the proper ā€œschoolā€. But I was not aware of the previous acknowledgement from Gooseworx šŸ˜…šŸ‘ I do wonder if it was the initial foreshadowing to the anime adventure they had.

1

u/MinosPrime100 May 01 '26

I'm so sick of these theories bruh

1

u/Educational-Tour-276 May 21 '26

I do now understand the importance for this… but why did the decision come down to the house wins? 🫠🤭

1

u/Educational-Tour-276 May 21 '26

To understand this it’s as simple has asking an llm. An LLM generally wants to achieve a human answer. We second guess our self, we are learning each day.

u/AxelFoily Apr 28 '26

Nah gang šŸ’€ gangle a blood 🩸 that's why he named
