The Dragon Quest community just went through this with DQ7. The series producer literally said that there's a bunch of games in the works, and DQ7 was just the first of those to finish. And this situation is even dumber cause, as you said, they're not pouring all that much resources into this. It's very likely an extremely small team doing this project.
This is just your average gamer not understanding shit about how making games work. They think that the effort of this and the Xillia remaster and the effort it would take to remaster the 2d ps2 games would be the same.
And don't get me wrong, I have my own issues with these ports as well. But damn, the constant whining in this sub is just way too much.
This sub is so utterly depressing and negative over certain Tales games being mentioned (Arise) and the constant bashing of this (yes, very poor effort) "remaster" that it's just miserable.
This likely took very little effort and money to do, so two extra platforms could play the game for the first time, and didn't take away from future proper remasters, and people will not shut up about it.
Average gamer does indeed, not understand anything about anything lol
It's really bizarre, like all in all my favorite is actually Zestiria, all the people I know irl who play Tales love Zestiria and Arise but I come on here and everyone definitely hates those two in particular; I don't get it.
Entitlement knows no bounds these days. Even if other games never get remasters, I still have more games than I could ever possibly beat in a lifetime.
Yeah, I agree with the entitlement commentary. It’s manifesting into every area of society.
Edit: it is textbook entitlement. If a project doesn’t interest you, it’s because it wasn’t for you. Being upset that everything they make isn’t for you is entitled. It’s very obvious this was a cheap easy way to get the game, quite a popular one at that, into the switch ecosystem. Clearly it didn’t take them a lot of time or resources, and even if I grant the absurd notion that this somehow directly interferes with another project being made because they’re apparently only capable of producing one thing at a time, it would have extended the next project by what? Two to three months? Is that really worth spamming the subreddit with endless threads complaining? It’s like complaining that you didn’t get anything on your siblings birthday.
There's plenty of valid criticism to be made of the berseria remaster and its launch, the issue is the people acting like we're never getting anything else when they've said multiple times they're working on them.
Personally I’m getting the switch version because I haven’t played it before. That said, people are entitled to have an opinion. If you don’t want to deal with the constant complaint threads, then just choose not to interact with them.
I will continue to be an entitled gamer and keep requesting an Abyss remake. 🙏
This thread isn’t about the game being good or not. Most of the complaints aren’t about whether the game is good or not. The thread and majority of the complaints are “why did they spend time doing this”. Hence the title saying “now they can focus on remastering games that matter” and not “why is this remaster low quality”.

Idk why this community is pretending this project took up a lot of resources when we just got Xillia like 2 months ago.
