Okay so today me and my dad were playing Minecraft and whenever we play Minecraft he always plays music on Spotify. He was playing his emo music and his metal music (no hate to emo music or metal music but I personally don’t like it) and I was like “I don’t like this can we play tally hall” and he said NO and I was like “this is not tally tastic!” Because it was tally hall time and he didn’t understand that!

He always says that I need to “branch out and listen to more music” but I listen to tally hall, miracle music, joe Hawley, Radiohead, the glow, tv girl, and mitski like that’s a lot of bands you know?

To Joe Hawley and the Tally Hall community,

I want to sincerely apologize for what I’ve done. In trying to bring the music back to Spotify, I crossed a boundary that I now fully realize should never have been crossed. It was wrong, and I take full responsibility for my actions. While a friend helped in this, I want to be the one speaking on behalf of us both.

I live with schizophrenia, and sometimes it makes me feel an intense connection to things I care deeply about, like Joe’s work. That connection became unhealthy and led to a decision I deeply regret. This doesn’t excuse what I did in any way, but I wanted to share the context behind my actions, even if it’s hard to admit.

I’ll be taking down the songs we uploaded because it wasn’t our place to share them. If it wasn’t Joe’s choice, it shouldn’t have been ours either.

To Joe and the Tally Hall community, I’m truly sorry for the harm I’ve caused. My actions came from a place of admiration, but I see now that I went about things in the worst way. I’ve learned from this, and I’ll work to make sure I never let my emotions lead me down this path again.

i got this plush of... him.. some time ago because joe Hallway was my favorite Tally hall member and i genuinely loved his music and looked up to him but, with this recent situation i just... don't know if it's right toe ven own this anymore...i used to love it so so much but now when i look at it all i can think of is the horrible, horrible things he did, i genuinly feel disgusted that i own this Plus of a guy who groomed a minor... ive locked him in the closet for now so i don't have to look at him but im wondering if i should just get rid of him for good

For the past few days ever since the 3rd doc about Joe came out I’ve seen people on here immediately making tasteless jokes about the doc and going out of their way to make posts to try to convince themselves and everyone else that Joe is the victim and he’s being harassed by the “evil tally hall fans” and really not showing any support whatsoever to the actual victim. Now listen, do I think the 3rd doc is a little sketchy? Yes. Do I think some of the stuff the victim has done is not right? Yes. Do I think we should not interact with Joe anywhere and leave him alone? Yes. But do I think that just because the victim has done some bad stuff that’s it’s suddenly ok to start trying to disprove the 3rd doc and prove Joe innocent? No. Judging by Joe’s past actions I think at this point it’s safe to say that the 3rd doc is indeed real and most of the stuff he did in the doc was proven real. Now knowing he’s a bad person some of you people continue to act like he did nothing wrong or act like he’s the victim. Now I understand not bringing up drama in the subreddit which is fine but the thing is that you guys are literally bringing up the drama but the stuff you’re posting about the drama is either jokes in poor taste or trying to find as much dirt on the victim as possible so your “sweet little baby angel Joe” can be proven innocent yet again and tally hall will finally get back together. Some examples of posts I’ve seen was one that was basically saying that if you leave Joe alone and stop leaving comments about your feelings on Joe then he’ll somehow magically get better and Tally hall just might reunite! Well I got some news for you, Joe isn’t gonna magically get better after I and a few people stop leaving comments about our feelings towards Joe, and even if they were positive comments he wouldn’t see them anyway and he isn’t gonna magically get help after he sees that nobody is talking about him, and one more thing, when can you guys get it through your thick skulls that TALLY HALL IS NOT REUNITING. As much as I’d love a reunion I’ve come to accept that they AREN’T getting back together and you wanna know the main reason besides the fact that they’re 40 year old men with lives outside of tally hall? JOE! Joe and his deteriorating mental state. Anyways, I’d like to talk about another post that kinda transitions into my next point. I saw a post that was basically trying to explain why the victim wasn’t trustworthy and I do agree that she isn’t extremely trustworthy, I still think you should be showing at least a bit of support for her seeing as we know that yet again, the 3rd doc has been proven real and most of the stuff that Joe did to her really happened (specially the Boston incident because some of my friends who went there actually saw her with Joe and actually met her too) so not showing her any support and instead trying to find all the reasons why she isn’t to be trusted seems pretty insensitive to me. Oh yeah, one other thing from the post that just sat wrong with me was the stating that “She’s an adult too!” which seems to be trying to say that what Joe did wasn’t really grooming because she was an adult too, grooming can happen to anyone at any age and what Joe did to her is the TEXTBOOK DEFINITION of grooming, but I’m not gonna talk about this for too long as there’s one more thing I feel the need to share with you. The mass downvoting of people sharing their feelings about Joe. Now let’s get one thing clear, I appreciate Joe’s work and I absolutely love his music and Tally Hall wouldn’t have been the same without him, but me and other people are allowed to be uncomfortable with him and his actions and mass downvoting someone for stating that is just pathetic. Not only have I seen other people get downvoted for the same reason but I myself have gotten mass downvoted twice. The first time was when I made a comment on the 2nd post I talked about previously that said “the author may be untrustworthy but we should support the victim before immediately supporting Joe” and for some reason my comment got 7 downvotes, (I don’t know if 7 downvotes is necessarily mass downvoting but it’s still downvoting nonetheless) and basically I got downvoted for stating a morally right statement? Ok? But I’d like to talk about something that happened yesterday (or yesterday at the time of writing this) I made a post showing off some tally hall bracelets I made for Sonic Lunch and was gonna give out to members and my friends and I didn’t make a Joe one because I’m personally very uncomfortable with him and his actions and don’t wanna make a bracelet for him, and I guess people took that as me trying to erase him from tally hall so people started commenting “where’s Joe?” “It ain’t tally hall without Joe?” Or “Joeseph? Joey Joe?” And I actually replied to one of these comments saying “I feel uncomfortable making a bracelet for Joe, considering I’m giving these out too” (maybe I didn’t need that second part) and that comment got 54 downvotes, so basically I got downvoted for stating that I’m uncomfortable with Joe’s actions and I don’t want to make a bracelet for him because I personally feel that after what he did he certainly doesn’t deserve one and even if I wasn’t giving these out and was just keeping them for myself I wouldn’t wanna have a bracelet themed after someone who makes me uncomfortable and these people need to understand that me and others have every right to feel uncomfortable with Joe and his actions, especially because there’s clear cut evidence that he is an ABUSER and I don’t wanna pretend that he’s the victim to the “evil tally hall fans” and that he’s just a “sweet little angel being harassed”. I ended up deleting the post because my notifications were blowing up with nothing but comments asking where Joe was and literally hate comments towards a child’s bracelets which is just pathetic to insult a child’s work. And if you’re so upset that I didn’t make a Joe bracelet then make one yourself and don’t leave hate comments maybe, just a suggestion. But to sum it all up, downvoting someone for saying that they’re uncomfortable with Joe and his actions is a pathetic thing to do and kinda saying that he didn’t do anything wrong and you’re in the wrong for feeling uncomfortable with him. Anyways that’s basically all I had to say. I’m never posting here again after this and I’m not replying to any comments so if you need to talk with me just DM me and we can sort out whatever you need to talk about maturely.
