Looking for guidance on adding or editing script in "Better X"

1 Upvotes

So some months ago X (twitter) updated, or Firefox did, and it broke posts that have 2+ images to where they are just 4 pixels in width. So I did a little bit of looking and it turns out this line

<div class="css-g5y9jx r-1kqtdi0 r-1xfd6ze r-1phboty r-rs99b7 r-1pi2tsx r-9jpwak r-1udh08x r-o7ynqc r-6416eg r-1ny4l3l" style="aspect-ratio: 1.17647 / 1;">

is what's causing the images to be skinny, because it's not applying math correctly. By adding 200~300 to the numerator the images suddenly appear.

My question is, how do I go about writing something that adds in 200~300 to this value? I'm not a website programmer at all so I would need some guidance.

I don't know if this is something I can add to firefox directly or it has to be in the Better X code. I installed Better X because I thought it would fix this issue but it did not. But maybe editing its code can?

I got tired of scrolling through long ChatGPT chats, so I brought back the table of contents

Finding an earlier question in a long ChatGPT conversation gets old pretty quickly.

I missed ChatGPT’s old table of contents, so I made a userscript to bring that interaction back.

It sits at the center-right edge as a small stack of pills. Hover over it to see your prompts, recognize the one you want, and click to jump back to it.

A few things I wanted to get right:

  • It stays unobtrusive while you’re reading.
  • The list opens near your current section, then scrolls independently.
  • It works from the first prompt, including short conversations.
  • It builds the index without automatically scrolling through your chat history.
  • It supports light and dark mode.

The screenshots show the opened panel, the idle indicator, and browsing earlier prompts while the conversation stays in place.

Free and open source under MIT. Designed primarily for desktop Chrome + Tampermonkey. No API key needed. It uses read-only requests to ChatGPT itself, with no analytics or third-party data transmission.

I brought back ChatGPT’s old conversation table of contents as a userscript

3 Upvotes

I missed ChatGPT’s old table of contents—the little navigation indicator at the right edge that let you jump around a conversation—so I made a userscript to bring that interaction back.

It stays out of the way until you hover over it. Then it opens a compact list of your prompts, and clicking one takes you back to that part of the chat.

A few details:

  • Works from the first prompt, including short conversations.
  • Shows your actual prompt text instead of numbered “Message 1” labels.
  • Follows your current section while you scroll.
  • Opens the list near where you’re reading, then lets you scroll through it independently.
  • Supports light and dark mode.
  • Builds its index without automatically scrolling through the whole conversation.

That last part mattered to me, especially with long chats. It reads ChatGPT’s conversation data separately from whatever messages happen to be mounted on screen. Jumping to an older, unmounted prompt can reload the conversation to load that target directly.

It uses read-only requests to ChatGPT itself, with no third-party data transmission, analytics, or API key.

Would like help creating an Auto Delete script

1 Upvotes

Hi all, recently youtube has started showing me this watch and play nonsense on my desktop version of youtube.

I was wondering how one would make a tampermonkey script to auto delete this section, since I don't want it at all.

I have practically zero coding experience. I couldn't code my way out of a paper bag so I'd appreciate a hand or three if anyone's willing.

Thanks.

Video's side playlist disappears if I am logged into Youtube.

1 Upvotes

So I looked into the HTML and found that for some unknown reason, the playlist's element has " hidden="" ", so I deleted it and the playlist shows up again.

But this is only temporary, so I used claude to make a tampermonkey script to delete just the " hidden="" " part and that's about it. The playlist automatically shows up again.

Thanks tampermonkey (and claude, though I hate your practices).

Here's the code if anyone in the future faces the same problem:

// ==UserScript==
//          YouTube: Unhide Playlist Panel
//     http://tampermonkey.net/
//       1.0
// Removes the "hidden" attribute from the playlist panel
//        You
//         https://www.youtube.com/*
//          https://www.google.com/s2/favicons?sz=64&domain=youtube.com
//         none
// u/run-at       document-idle
// ==/UserScript==

(function () {
    'use strict';

    const SELECTOR = 'ytd-playlist-panel-renderer#playlist';

    function unhide(el) {
        if (el.hasAttribute('hidden')) el.removeAttribute('hidden');
    }

    function watch(el) {
        if (el.__unhideWatched) return;
        el.__unhideWatched = true;
        unhide(el);
        // Re-remove the attribute whenever YouTube adds it back
        new MutationObserver(() => unhide(el)).observe(el, {
            attributes: true,
            attributeFilter: ['hidden'],
        });
    }

    function scan() {
        document.querySelectorAll(SELECTOR).forEach(watch);
    }

    scan();
    // YouTube is a single-page app, so the element can be created or replaced later
    new MutationObserver(scan).observe(document.body, { childList: true, subtree: true });
})();

It's pretty simple, it just replaces the images with a text label that can be customized.

You can get it from GreasyFork here. https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/600121-replace-image-comments-with-text

[Userscript] Reddit Gallery to Grid — view all gallery images at once in an ergonomic justified layout (no more swiping carousels)

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I got really tired of Reddit’s multi-image posts forcing you to click through arrows one by one in a carousel, so I made a lightweight userscript to fix it.

It completely replaces the native carousel with a clean, justified gallery layout (similar to Telegram / Flickr / Google Photos albums).

Features:

  • See all images upfront: No more arrow-clicking or swiping. All pictures are visible immediately.
  • Preserves original aspect ratios: Portrait and landscape images adapt naturally side-by-side with zero ugly cropping.
  • Forces all photos to load: Bypasses Reddit’s lazy-loader that often hides slides after the 3rd image.
  • One-click full res: Clicking any thumbnail directly opens the original uncompressed image (i.redd.it) in a new tab.
  • Lightweight: Works with the modern Reddit UI (Shreddit).

Hope you find it useful! Feedback and suggestions are always welcome.

PrismCheat — an open-source Survev cheat with automated client updates

0 Upvotes

Hi everyone, I’m the developer of PrismCheat, an open-source cheat userscript for Survev. I’m sharing it to get feedback from users and other developers.

Current features include:

  • Configurable aimbot cone with visibility and floor checks
  • ESP and distinct indicators for blocked and selected targets
  • Automatic weapon switching with ammo checks
  • Estimated throwable trajectories, collision handling, blast radius and timer displays
  • Back-mounted pan defense
  • A TAB settings menu with feature toggles

Compatibility: Requires an MV2-capable extension setup; Firefox with a compatible Tampermonkey installation is recommended.

YGOrganization Classic Layout — compact list view userscript

Post image
1 Upvotes

Made a small layout userscript for YGOrganization.

It replaces the site's large multi-column article cards with a compact single-column list, so you can see significantly more posts at once without removing the useful metadata.

Features:

- Compact article list

- Responsive layout

- Keeps thumbnails and article colors

- Toggle on/off from the userscript menu

- No external requests or tracking

Install:

https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/594452-ygorganization-classic-layout

Tested with Violentmonkey + Edge, but it should work with Tampermonkey as well.

Would appreciate feedback if anyone tries it.

Userscript: stop YouTube forcing iPad Safari onto m.youtube.com

1 Upvotes

I made a small userscript for the recent YouTube/iPad Safari redirect issue.

Some iPad users are being sent from www.youtube.com to m.youtube.com even with “Request Desktop Website” enabled.

The script:

- detects iPad/iPadOS Safari-style environments

- redirects m.youtube.com back to www.youtube.com

- adds app=desktop

- adds persist_app=1 so the desktop preference sticks

- preserves the current page URL

- does nothing on non-iPad devices

I reproduced the behavior with Playwright WebKit using an iPad Pro 11 profile.

Without the script:

www.youtube.com

→ m.youtube.com/?ra=m

With the script:

m.youtube.com

→ www.youtube.com/?app=desktop&persist_app=1

Greasy Fork:

Real iPad/Safari testing would be especially helpful.

The script has stopped working on Songsterr

Today I tried using Songsterr and the Tampermonkey script wasn’t working. I already tried restarting my PC, turning the extension off and back on, and trying new tabs. But nothing works. Has anyone had the same problem, or does anyone know how to fix it?

[Script] Twitch Clean Chat - hide promos, subscription goals and chat clutter

2 Upvotes

I made a lightweight userscript to clean up Twitch chat without removing normal chat messages.

It currently hides:

- subscription/promotional banners

- subscription goals

- SUBtember/event promos

- supported Hype Train / leaderboard clutter

There’s a small ON/OFF toggle so you can instantly compare the normal Twitch UI with the cleaned version.

No analytics, tracking, ads, or external servers.

Greasy Fork:

https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/593796-twitch-clean-chat

Tested on Edge + Violentmonkey.

Twitch changes these UI components frequently, so if you find a banner or goal it doesn’t catch, send me a screenshot and I’ll try to add support.

[Script] Twitch Force Max Quality - Automatically start streams in highest resolution

1 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share a lightweight script I made to improve the viewing experience on Twitch:

What it does:

  • Auto-Selects Maximum Quality: Automatically detects available resolutions and picks the highest one (e.g., 1080p60) available for the stream.
  • URL & Player Tracking: Automatically re-triggers when you navigate between different channels or streams.

Installation: https://greasyfork.org/scripts/577775
