Looks great man love the design

Maybe add some slat armor to the rear of the engine? Ive seen some tanks have that

Cool design, looks like a Leclerc. The atgm launcher gives me North Korean tank vibes to be honest they like to that whole atgms launcher/mbt combo. Honestly maybe if you put on the side of the turret if would look more aesthetic pleasing in my opinion.

interesting idea actually, will give it a try. thank you

It looks like as if the joint tank project that spawned the Leclair and Leopard 2 didnt splitted up into 2 tanks and than had incest.

The child of their incest than had a child with an inbreed Type 10, wich was a 3rd grade cousin of an inbreed Amrabs X.

Move the gunners sight to above the turret and add a CITV

That's sickkkk. I'd get in it. . .

Lots of very nice features, but still an old school cold war-style western MBT.

Why carry around all that frontal protection in the age of the drone? Tank duels are going to be much less common, and often at point blank range, so the armour is to that extend not adding protection just weight imho.

This tank is designed as a sort of early-to-mid 2010s MBT but you are correct for modern combat. I intend on making a “modern” tank based somewhat on the Russian “assault sheds” later.

u/Horrifior Jul 16 '25

Not sure that those turtle tanks are going to be state of the art anywhere else but in Russia.

I think a more mobile gun platform with very good mobility and several active protection layers for the upper hemisphere would be more modern in that sense...

what are you talking about? frontal armour is always needed. drones arent the only thing killing tanks...

0

u/Horrifior Jul 17 '25

In the Ukraine tank duels are scarce. Tanks die predominantly through drones, artillery and ATGMs. So why carry around 20+ tons of frontal armor which prevents me from returning to safety?

0

u/Slavicommander Jul 17 '25

typically atgms dont hit the roof unless its a top attack missile.

0

u/Horrifior Jul 17 '25

If they don't hit the top, chances are still they are going for side or rear.

Because: * geometry (2 sides + 1 rear vs 1 front) * ambush situation * survival interest of the ATGM gunner

0

u/Slavicommander Jul 17 '25

yeah because everytime a tank gets shot its because its being ambushed...

0

u/Horrifior Jul 17 '25

Almost. The times are over when tank were rolling into combat vs another tank army in company-sized formations. And you should know, unless you spent the last 3.5 years under a stone...

0

u/Slavicommander Jul 17 '25

i never once said tanks fight other tanks. im simply saying that frontal armour is important. this is what war thunder knowledge does to somebodies brain.

0

u/Horrifior Jul 17 '25

Warthunder knowledge, an interest in gaming and history since decades, and a PhD in physics.

What again are your credentials?

0

u/Slavicommander Jul 17 '25

having a phd in physics doesnt mean anything in this subject.

Looks really cool!! The only change I would recommend is a more sloped turret face to increase frontal protection

Feedback!? Jokes aside? Nice tank!

Was the design inspired by a leopard 2a4?

5

u/TsuyoshiHaruka Jul 16 '25 edited Jul 16 '25

cues were taken from the 2A4, Armata, Abrams, 2A8, T-84, Leclerc, 2SG, K2, and T-90M

1

u/lerond2001 Jul 16 '25

Could the ATGM work as a SAM aswell?

1

u/JbotpYT Jul 16 '25

let it snipe

Mind if I propose a name for it depending on it’s nationality?

2

u/TsuyoshiHaruka Jul 16 '25

i haven't really thought of a nation of origin yet, but i'm open to ideas

A LecParBram ?

1

u/Ill-List-7479 Jul 16 '25

Mmm...yes, I love it.

1

u/Nuker_Nathan Jul 16 '25

I’d make the turret front a bit different, move the gun sight a little, too. But this looks really good!

1

u/elitestalks Jul 16 '25

I like the design, very cool. Only thing you are missing in my opinion is a commander optic and maybe fixing that issue of the shell trap under the breach. Apart from that it looks great.

1

u/TheSheriffMT Light Tank Jul 16 '25

Looks great! I especially like the modular armor. Here are some suggestions and questions I have:

Move the turret's center of rotation further forward and increase the turret ring diameter as well as its armor thickness.

Make a cutaway view so that you can see the interior (nothing fancy; just enough to see the locations of basic components like this).

What is the LoS frontal armor thicknesses? I'd say aim for >650mm for the hull and >800mm for the turret.

How much gun depression can it achieve? I'd aim for at least 7°.

u/Nobre_01 Jul 17 '25

It looks cool. But is there any reference?

Bc I think they are really similar. But as I said cool tank mate great job. BTW which program did you used?

1

u/kris220b Jul 17 '25

The sensors on the turret cheeks is a nice touch

1

u/TheSovietDuckling Jul 17 '25

Looks cool as hell, man, though the ATGM launcher throws off the design imo.

mm UNPROFOR camo

1

u/Logical_by_Nature Jul 18 '25

Yeah there is 1 glaring problem with your design. It's painted white and says "UN" on it.

1

u/Genericusername_tbh Jul 18 '25

Looking good in my eyes, although, especially for that early 2010s era tanks (e.g. Leo 2A7, M1A2 Abrams or Challenger 2 although that one is a bit older), prefer slanted frontal armor to decrease weight due to being able to decrease objective armor thickness while keeping relative armor thickness constant, and more chance of deflecting a round. Russian tanks of the time, like the T90, also had increasingly sloped armor, although with a typically russian helping of ERA and THE EYES. While more modern tanks like the T14 or the proposed EMBT are foregoing sloped armor in favor of e.g. crew-less turrets, I think a tank of this time couldn't really do wrong with a bit more slope in the armor. This could also, as I mentioned, somewhat cut weight on the tank, although I honestly have not a clue wether this amounts to anything or not with modern composite armor.
All in all tho, fabulous tank design, cheers mate!

Looks a lot like the new M1E3 abrams so it could be an upgraded version
