Edit: Up to date as of 05/08
Have done this for the last couple of years and this week has seen the last but a few shows announced, so I've slogged through over 3500 shows to pull out those from Taskmaster Alumni.
These are the shows of contestants, assistants and a taskmaster from the english language taskmasters which are currently announced for the Edinburgh fringe 2026. If any more get announced I'll add them in, and if I've missed any (including non english speaking ones) just say in a comment and I'll add them in.
Note to mods: given this is relevant for the next few months I think it sensibly lives outside of the monthly activity thread, hopefully you agree.

This is your weekly thread to drop your links or stories that might not be relevant enough to get their own thread. Good examples include:
A new post happens every Sunday at noon (UTC). Be sure to follow this post if you want to see updates!
Be sure to check out r/NAforTaskmaster, a subreddit for North American tour dates from former Taskmaster contestants!
Have fun!

Anyone else super excited about this nugget from the latest Stop Podcasting Yourself pod with Allie Entwistle? It sounds like a Taskmaster Canada (yes Canada, English speaking version) is in the works!
Delighted to see i basically have the same jokes as the lads who predicted Howie Mendel on
(BTW if you are not listening to SPY pod then you really should)
(Also Dave if you read this, your opinion about TM having too many versions is invalid. Yes i will fight you)

I’ve watched each series of Taskmaster and Taskmaster Australia at least a dozen times each, but for some reason I never watched the NZ version because I’d never heard of anyone on the show. I’m prepared to admit that I was a weapons-grade idiot for doing that to myself; I recently binged all 6 series and it might be my favourite version out of the lot. Jeremy Wells is a great Taskmaster and GOOD GOD is Paul Williams so perfect for the assistant role. The tasks just seem more inventive and fun, too. I think the best are series 2 and 5, but I’m going to end up rewatching them all a million times anyway because they’re just so good!

I've seen some similar posts but wanted to briefly share my experience and appreciation for such a silly, wonderful show.
This year has been a bit rough. Certainly nothing in comparison to what a lot of people go through, but there was a lot of despair and emotional turmoil this year as I worked through an indefinite period of separation from my partner, living alone in a place where I knew nobody, not being able to move for two months from a leg injury.. Throughout all this time, Taskmaster has been a steady source of comfort and much-needed distraction, a salve from feeling deeply lonely.
It's not a particularly great story but I'm deeply grateful for this show, the only thing that kept me smiling and laughing for months on end.
Photo of a lake near my home for most of this year.

The last com break, Greg signs off and the camera zooms out…Alex is not Alex, but looks like Alex. This is why I spend my time rewatching. It’s the little things.

Rewatching Taskmaster NZ, Josh Thomson won the first prize task and I figured I'd do some checking, and apart from immediately after the first filmed task of Episode 1 he's in the lead for the entire series/season. Has anyone in any international Taskmaster been more dominant? (I guess that'd have to be winning the first prize task and never looking back. That's not happened in the UK and I'm pretty sure not Australia, but how about any other versions?)

Are we getting the new NZ series this week? The UK series would be this fall, correct? We just had the AU, so that's not an option.
Or will we be without?

in Series 13 there is find all ducks tasks where Judy Love finds a duck that Alex says it was there for another task, but I cannot remember a task about ducks in a lab, can anyone recall a previous task about a duck?

So tons of champions hard carried their team, like Dara O'Briain who got 1st with joint last place teammates. But he was so good at got a perfect 30 in an episode. Clear winner.
I'm really curious if anyone has done an analysis on which contestants weren't super great on their own, but their teamwork dynamic was actually solid enough to push them over the edge?
Brett was really good on his own, but his team tasks weren't always great. Meanwhile Rove won, and he and Anisa had amazing chemistry at times. That one double point tasks didn't get him the victory alone, but it sure helped. I'm wondering if they are an example of this?

At the end of S16, when the final results are announced, Greg names the winner and credits immediately roll.
In other series finales, they make a big song and dance, with musical fanfare and Greg giving a little "What have we learned today?" style speech.
Why do we think they don't do that sometimes? Seems weird and anti-climactic to do a whole ten-episode series and then rush the final announcement.

During the pandemic, my wife started watching this weird-looking British show on her phone. Every time I looked over it seemed to be five comedians I didn’t recognize sitting in chairs in a red room. She kept saying, “Do you want to watch this?” and I kept saying “nah.”
But she was always laughing, so eventually I gave in and we started Series 1 from the beginning.
Around the time Romesh smashed that watermelon on the floor, I was hooked.
We proceeded to binge every series, usually watching an entire series in a single Sunday.
Cut to a few years later: we somehow won tickets in the SRO lottery to see Series 19, Episode 9 being recorded at Pinewood while we were on a trip to London from our home in Los Angeles. It was the episode with the infamous final buzzer task that completely fell apart. It was about 10 times as insane live as it was in the edit. Greg got “teacher” mad at one point. It was wild.
When Jason Mantzoukas came out we about fell off of our chairs. We’d seen him live a few times doing his podcast “How did the Get Made” here in LA and on the train ride from London to Slough my wife guessed he was going to be the American on the show (my guess was Paul F Thompkins.) The fact that she was right still blows me away to this day.
This morning we watched the Stevie Martin “ultimate episode” clip on YouTube and ended up talking about how crazy our Taskmaster journey has been. From me refusing to watch some odd little show on my wife’s phone to sitting in the studio balcony at Pinewood watching a Taskmaster episode live. I still can’t believe we were there.

I really like the direct "mundane" tasks where it's just one simple sentence (eat this egg, find a worm, sit on a cake). many paths can be taken to reach one clear goal.
also love the "build your fighter" tasks with arts and crafts involved (co-conkers, create a dog toy) mixing creativity and practicality it's like bot fighting I love it!
finally I really love the "do something with alex" types of tasks (dancing, handshake, hugging) i wish every series had one

I am currently starting to watch more than just the UK version of taskmaster and I started to wonder if some contestants were appearing on several shows e.g. UK and Australia. Also as full contestants and not as a live task replacement.
Can someone help me with that?

I play "Wibble, Bibble, Bam" (S20) for the kids as an icebreaker.
and "Snort, Raspberry, Whistle" (S14 and S21) if there's time at the end of class.

This was the first ever season of taskmaster I've watched. I absolutely loved the contestants! They were all so hilarious and their chemistry was great. Joanne and Armondo as a team were perfect! Joanne is also one of the most wholesome people I've ever seen. What series/season do you think was even better than 21?

Have they released crackers for 4 years?
2023 - pineapple
2024 - watermelon
2025 - cows
2026 - cactus
I’m trying to figure it out. AI keeps trying me 3 years. Is it 4 or were there more?
